www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10382291/Did-Hertfordshire-Police-force-break-uniform-code-transgender-trailblazer.html

One rule for women and another for transgender women.

Having long green nails and heavy makeup, breaches Hertfordshire Police Forces uniform policy, unless of course you're trans! Then you can do what you like to "feel like a woman".

Ultimately, is there a policy on skin colour siree?

And do you believe that there should be?

Because if so, that says a great deal about you.

ZuttZeVootEeeVo · 09/01/2022 16:55

@NoNotMeNoSiree

Oh come on, you can tell what's make up and what's natural skin tone! God this conversation is fucking horrible, it's policing women's looks and its sick.
You have to remember not everyone is as passionate about make up as you are.
NeverDropYourMooncup · 09/01/2022 16:56

Seems to be a bit self defeating.

See an officer wearing heavy makeup and long, painted nails - oh right, as neither female or male officers are permitted to do this, that means this officer must be a TW.

No opportunity to see them as a woman (and thereby correctly 'gender' them), as their appearance is one solely permitted for TW.

NoNotMeNoSiree · 09/01/2022 16:57

And do you believe that there should be?
No, of course not.

allmywhat · 09/01/2022 16:58

I mean can NotMe really be talking about the “mixed heritage” woman who is described as such in the Herts Police Tweet, which links to an interview where she talks about the unpleasant comments she received while growing up about the colour of her skin not being white? I hope not.

NoNotMeNoSiree · 09/01/2022 16:59

That's funny, as I literally never wear it and as I said I couldn't care less if others wear it or not.
It seems people on here do though.

@NoNotMeNoSiree

Yet you are judging a woman on her skin colour.

Nice one! And unless you want Mnhq to delete your posts, I think you can see the issue. Incredibly offensive to double down that you did not post such an offensive post as some kind of ‘gotcha’.

Should link to a pic of the red nails

ZuttZeVootEeeVo · 09/01/2022 17:01

Are you trying to get the thread taken down?

The make up isn't the issue. The unfairness in the application of the rules is the issue.

If you have an issue with the dress code itself take it up with Herts Police.

Shock
Absolutely, 100 per cent not and I'd never do that.

NoNotMeNoSiree · 09/01/2022 17:04

yet you are judging a woman on her skin colour
No.
Make up being worn.

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 09/01/2022 17:04

fuck me that's a lot of make up in the shot linked above by GCITC. and those nails ain't neutral.

what's sauce for the goose isn't sauce for for gander eh? (or different rules for men and women to put it more clearly). plus ca change

ZuttZeVootEeeVo · 09/01/2022 17:05

Can you link to the photo you are referring to, because I'm having trouble seeing anyone with an aggressive fake tan.

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 09/01/2022 17:07

also, and I'm not sure how to make @NoNotMeNoSiree get this

*there is no fucking policy on fake tan for heaven's sake'

there is a clear policy on nail colour and discreet make up

which Officer Cherry is clearly blowing out of the water

why is this so fucking hard to get?

allmywhat · 09/01/2022 17:10

🤔 You said the photo you meant wasn’t hard to find. And yet no one can find it. No, I think you were doing a Jane Fae.
NoNotMeNoSiree · 09/01/2022 17:12

No, I think you were doing a Jane Fae

I have absolutely no idea what this is even supposed to mean.

allmywhat · 09/01/2022 17:14

@NoNotMeNoSiree

Fae also labelled a WoC’s natural skin tone as fake tan.
ShrillSiren · 09/01/2022 17:16

Why not just post the link if it's so easy to find?

ZuttZeVootEeeVo · 09/01/2022 17:19

There is an argument (admittedly a dull one) about whether office should be allowed to wear heavily make up while on duty. But that isn't this thread.

There's an argument about what is meant by discreet, but that's not what nonotme is arguing here.

Something about why we shouldn't talk about rules being applied differently to different people?

NoNotMeNoSiree · 09/01/2022 17:19

Ah, OK.
I've already said though I absolutely was not doing that at all and I never would.

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 09/01/2022 17:23

I dunno if it's especially important for men who identify as women to be able to wear heavy and unsubtle make up or summat?

why do the make up rules not apply to them?

Helleofabore · 09/01/2022 17:25

And yet you are. What don’t you see about that.

You made a personal judgement as to whether a woman has a ‘natural’ skin colour.

Which ever way you try to parse your comment, that is what you have done. Without evidence, you have judged a woman’s skin tone.

She could be that colour from birth. She could be that colour from walking the beat in the sun without adequate sun protection.

Either way, you have made a vile statement in an attempt to score points.

Well done.
