www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10382291/Did-Hertfordshire-Police-force-break-uniform-code-transgender-trailblazer.html

One rule for women and another for transgender women.

Having long green nails and heavy makeup, breaches Hertfordshire Police Forces uniform policy, unless of course you're trans! Then you can do what you like to "feel like a woman".

@NoNotMeNoSiree

Still a yep it's true though. It wasn't referring to that tweet, but you're obviously determined to think otherwise, so do you.

Which exact tweet was it referring to then?

VestofAbsurdity · 10/01/2022 15:49

You'll never get an answer to that question OhLordyWhatNow, we'll make our own judgement and draw our own conclusions as to why as will all those reading this thread.

Just like they'll never answer as to why one particular officer should not abide by the same Dress Code Rules as every other officer on that Force has to.

The only person you are convincing here is yourself.
TInkyWlnky · 10/01/2022 16:36

I suspect not doing a particularly good job of convincing themself either. ☹️ I suspect a bit of reflection on what went wrong might be in order. I would recommend Gibbs reflective cycle as a helpful self reflection tool.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 10/01/2022 16:43

The only person you are convincing here is yourself.

And I doubt even that is true Smile

But I Tell You Three Times didn't even work in the Snark. So waddya expect?

allmywhat · 10/01/2022 16:45

I don’t think this thread is quite as funny as the recent one with the pompous ungrammatical man who didn’t have time to educate all the scientists here on postmodern biology. But it is still fucking hilarious.

Flowers to all the posters here for your efforts.

@NoNotMeNoSiree

And there's a reason why you won't. We know it Yes, which I've already told you. I'm not linking photos of people into an already shitty conversation for people about police officers make up and looks for even more of it to happen
The conversation where you went looking for female officers with non subtle makeup/ nails on Herts police Twitter?

And then came back and said ha up yours MN bigots, there's pic of female officer with an obvious shitty fake tan?

You must be aware the person who has been trawling for pics of Herts officers and looking for one whose appearance will 'prove' you're right?

While in doing so you must have assumed their gender identityas woman... How do you know their gender though?

Plus, even worse, are you assuming that if you see person you read as female,
Then they-

  • Must be woman gender ID AND *Can't be a transwoman?

You are managing to deliver blatent, just totally obvious transphobia and misogyny.

And at face value you cannot even see it!

And you think you're the one standing up for tolerance and confronting bigots?

CheeseMmmm · 10/01/2022 19:09

Poorly written.

Sure others can understand, hopefully.

CheeseMmmm · 10/01/2022 19:19

NoNotMeNoSiree

Personally I'd like to put your comments (that I quote below) about a police officer you saw a pic of on Twitter, to one side.

And get back to the OP.

I'm sure you'll find that welcome.

Comments-

'Well just a quick look at Hert police twitter account you don't have to scroll far at all see pics of other women officers being shown.
The first one I saw was someone looking like they're heavily tanned and like the fake tan bottle a lot or foundation.
Is anyone commenting on her appearance (apart from me now obviously which feels a hmm thing to do).'

And

'Oh come on, you can tell what's make up and what's natural skin tone!'

CheeseMmmm · 10/01/2022 19:35

Back to OP. Pertinent questions to me to NoNot:

  • Do you hold firm on your opinion that no jobs should have a dress code that includes rules on cosmetics, nail decoration?
  • Are you still convinced that this pic published on Twitter by Herts police. Has attracted stacks of complaints on Twitter and also directed to Herts police through their complaints process.
Are all to do with bigotry rather than breaching strictly enforced dress code?
  • What's your thinking behind your belief the individual is breaching the dress code because trying to fit in.
When due to dress code plus the (obvious) other factors involved in presentation when a female police officer. The cosmetic decoration is the opposite of fitting in as a police officer who is female/a woman.

Note:

I am not sure on how you define woman/female. For absolute clarity, I should probably add person with a vagina. In fact would that be easier?

Ok for total clarity, and esp given no idea of gender IDs of any other officers. And plus your previous assumption of gender identity based on physical appearance.

'The cosmetic decoration is the opposite of fitting in as a police officer who has a vagina'.

NoNotMeNoSiree · 10/01/2022 20:47

And then came back and said ha up yours MN bigots
Grin Stop making shit up I never said anything of the sort, some of you really do like hyperbole which is probably why some really don't get that I wasnt talking about the tweet you all saw and said I must be too.
And yes, I stand by my opinion which is I could not give a shit if someone got to wear a brighter lipstick than me or painted their nails when I didn't /couldn't.

TInkyWlnky · 10/01/2022 20:51

which is probably why some really don't get that I wasnt talking about the tweet you all saw and said I must be too

Yet you wouldn't point out what you saw. Would you. Because of ',reasons'. And we know what the reasons are.

NoNotMeNoSiree · 10/01/2022 20:54

Yes.
I've told you what the reasons are repeatedly upthread.
But whatever, you know that.

I believe Cheese was paraphrasing all of your deflecting, avoiding, nonsensical posts to save us from reading it again.

But here you are with more of the same. I'm now of the opinion that if you were in an empty room you'd pick an argument with yourself.

To repeat... The majority of the posters here are concerned with the apparent disparity in the application of the Hertfordshire Police dress code, and the resulting inequity.

VestofAbsurdity · 10/01/2022 22:31

No surprise to anyone here that you don't believe in fairness or equity especially not when it applies to women and may mean your favoured caste abiding by rules.

A reminder of what i posted, and to include context. __

Your issue with my comment...
(relevant part pasted at end of this post for context, and please correct me if I've not understood your post nonot).

Is not that you refute that you went off and looked for pics on Herts police Twitter.
To try and find evidence of police officers who you decided were women breaching the dress code with makeup/nails.
So you could come back and say person in OP isn't exception others have done similar I've seen pic and obvious they've overdone the fake tan.

Ok so we're agreed on your actions.

The bit you don't like is the ha up yours bit.

Never heard of paraphrasing?
And out of all the posts pointing out your misogyny, transphobia,
And judgement of how police officers you assume are women look? Slagging off a random police officer because in your opinion fake tan is... The nasty things you said about it?

Ok fair enough I'll rephrase:
-
The conversation where you went looking for female officers with non subtle makeup/ nails on Herts police Twitter?

And then came back and posted:

'Well just a quick look at Hert police twitter account you don't have to scroll far at all see pics of other women officers being shown.
The first one I saw was someone looking like they're heavily tanned and like the fake tan bottle a lot or foundation.
Is anyone commenting on her appearance (apart from me now obviously which feels a hmm thing to do.
Why aren't they?
Can anyone think why that may be?
Or is it just saved for what make up a trans woman is wearing?'

I can't see how my paraphrasing was out of line. Sums up your words well imo anyway...

In fact I think your actual words are worse than what I used to sum them up.

-
My post more context:

Helleofabore · 10/01/2022 23:59

You know cheese.

You are right. Siree did seem to make a judgment call not only on the race of the person they chose to use as a very poor gotcha, while misogynistically judging their looks, (using Siree’s own logic there) but Siree judged the persons gender identity.

Quite a list really.
