Game, mumsnet set, and match. Of course we scare him.

ArabellaScott · 15/12/2021 17:44

I mean, it's a total mystery, right? Why on earth would a space with a high proportion of female people have so many people who care whether female voices are heard, female experiences are respected and female people are recognised as existing? Surely they can't have anything to say that male people haven't already considered for them?

Hmm
FrancescaContini · 15/12/2021 17:54

@TheCountessofFitzdotterel

She doesn’t seem to have problems finding readers for the Strike books either. They are only growing in popularity with each successive one.
Ah thanks - you’ve just reminded me to buy a few copies as Xmas presents!

From the BBC article someone linked to upthread about PIE:

"One of PIE's key tactics was to try to conflate its cause with gay rights."

Does that sound familiar at all?

This paragraph is a clear example of deja vu aka seen it all before:

Most gay people were horrified by any conflation of homosexuality and a sexual interest in children, says Parris. But PIE used the idea of sexual liberation to win over more radical elements. "If there was anything with the word 'liberation' in the name you were automatically in favour of it if you were young and cool in the 1970s."

Noticed that this afternoon - it's crazy when you think about it. JKR tweets and it fuels Twitter for days. I know that plenty of people use the hashtag against her but I can't think of a more enduring one.

Speaking of the bird app, Gia Milanovic deserves a mention if she hasn't had one on here already:

(a)without another person (“B”) consenting, and

(b)without any reasonable belief that B consents,

At a trial the physical evidence (may) prove sex happened.
For a Jury the crux of a rape trial is who's words do you believe.

J.K. Jowling
War is Peace.
Freedom is Slavery.
Ignorance is Strength.
The Penised Individual Who Raped You Is a Woman.

Seth Abramson
(CONCLUSION2) J.K. Rowling made a very clear submission about criminal law that was factually false: she said that government prosecutors wouldn’t be able to argue that a suspect had a penis if they booked that suspect as a trans woman. If you defended her lie, go live with that

She said
He said

Rhannion · 16/12/2021 01:12

Seth is a complete bawbag who had his credibility destroyed by women and men, especially Roddy Dunlop.
That whole thread proved the women won’t Wheest, and thank goodness for them.

Blibbyblobby · 16/12/2021 01:20

Is Abrahamson claiming that's what JKR was saying in the "War is Peace..." comment, or is there more commentary from JKR I haven't seen?

Because if it's the former, what on earth is he blithering on about?

It's not saying in any way what prosecuters may or may not be able to claim about a "woman" having a penis, it's calling out the utter gaslighting power trip of forcing female people to "accept" (ie submit to the assertion) that their rapist is undeniably a "woman" even though this assertion is based on some undisclosed, indeed unknowable, criteria that appear not to exlude performing an almost exclusively male sexual offense.

Rhannion · 16/12/2021 01:27

That the quote he was blathering about on his Twitter, nothing else from JKR. Got himself in a real whirl about it, bloody idiot.

OnAWinterMorningFarAway · 16/12/2021 02:47

I love @GiaGia. She was on here once, many moons ago.

I think it's really important that women in science like Gia Milanovich, who are good at the left-of-centre background politics, are supporting JKR.

No, thats it.
One tweet by JKR

He claims to be legally trained°.

He had a whole conversation with himself.
In theory it was about Scottish law.
His legal basis was fundamentally flawed.
He got spoon fed the legislation.
Still claimed the original basis was factual.
Began name calling.
Usual if you don't agree with me it's transphobic
Began name calling and blocking.
Disclosed that he used TERF as derogatory term.
He begins attempting to skew his legal basis to align with Scottish law.
Begins to use f as "emphases"
Tweets random defamation
Formulates usual Walter Mitty/ White Knight syndrome scenarios.
Usual want transwomen dead claim.
Claims victory in isolated tweet.
Drew that conclusion

I admit I have not read all of his tweets nor in chronological order. (Apparently he did not read the attached article, tbc)

He did construct some of his tweets to avoid direct defamation. That one may skate by in his court circuit.
But yes, that is his tweet.

°If he has any professional qualifications, the organisation should think about implementing some professional development training on ethics, (imo😉)

Times has an article about JKR being left out of Fantastic Beasts trailer:

As someone who followed Seth until this point I'm still stunned at this really. It's so daft I keep laughing but really it's not funny at all. His absolute insistence nobody knew what they were talking about and had no right to be tweeting about it (when he didn't either), the arrogance in inferring intentions from the clearest of tweets (including JKR's), the hysterical assertion that to disagree with him was to, erm, want all trans women dead, to say nothing of the deliberate obfuscation throughout.

I saw from Gia's timeline some tweets of his she'd highlighted have since been deleted, wonder if the whole display is still there.

Had anyone posted this interview yet from talkradio with Kaitie Welch author doing her stuff making everyone see the dissonance? Ian Collins did a great job of bringing out her best side.

That’s bum clenchingly awful 😬🤣

More from Kaite, please! What a great ambassador.

(The word “great” can also mean “disingenuous, waffly, patronising and contradictory”. I particularly enjoyed “I’d assume you were cis. of course, I’m not making any assumptions” 🤣)

Awkwardy · 16/12/2021 08:53

Don't mistake my assumptions for assumptions!

WhatyoutalkingaboutWillis · 16/12/2021 09:05

Wow! Loving Katie's work for the GC cause here. She doesn't believe a bloody word of it.

BraveBananaBadge · 16/12/2021 09:19

I like Ian Collins's style, wasn't aware of him before. Kaite was in a passive-aggressive huff from the start, but I like how he didn't rise to it like someone like Piers Morgan would and allowed for a bit of sunlight - rather than derailing by yelling about identifying as a penguin or whatever.

Noted that Kaite avoided saying 'assigned at birth' which was something.

Helleofabore · 16/12/2021 09:24

And yet, when you look at what he actually said, he was rather blunt. Not that you heard it above Kaite's stream of consciousness.

littlbrowndog · 16/12/2021 09:52

He was blunt

She was waffling all the woke words

When she said she was a cis gender queer woman. Then he asked what was that.

Then he said you are a gay woman 🤣🤣🤣🤣

SolasAnla · 16/12/2021 09:53

@BraveBananaBadge
I am going to guess that they were "On the advice of my Bank Manager I retain the obligation to withdraw publication".
🙄

It is/was a classic example of how the bwitch has no right to her good name.

He had a tweet about how he is creating a world he want to live in.

Me: Girls, when they show you who they are believe them. They form part of any jury pool. So girls, never take on someone else's risk, or give someone the benefit of the doubt if it has the potential to put you in harms way. If someone is saying "be kind" you reply "you first".

Babdoc · 16/12/2021 09:58

He missed so many open goals though. Why didn't he ask her, if, as a lesbian, she would sleep with a transbian, and if not, what she had against a "female penis"?
Why didn't he press her on whether it was acceptable to force a rape victim to address her rapist as "she" in court?
Why did he meekly accept her assertion that no transwoman was ever a sex offender, when we have evidence to the contrary?
Why didn't he ask her why women should not be allowed single sex spaces, thus excluding many (such as Muslims and Orthodox Jews) from public life?
Why didn't he insist on her producing a single transphobic statement by JKR? And keep pushing?

NancyDrawed · 16/12/2021 10:05

Just seen this from John Boyne on Twitter (apologies if already posted). Given that Stephen King was flaky and quick to appease the masses after supporting JKR, I am pleased to see this author standing his ground.

The greatest trick the patriarchy ever pulled is convincing women and those who believe themselves to be feminists that the rights of men are more important than the rights of women.

Look at the interview from the basis you have no idea what is going on.

She said "I have been raped" so it's then totally inappropriate to open any line of question around sex acts and sexual history.

Him man with penis rapes woman.
Her proper pronouns.

Her allegation all TW are rapists
Him no one believes that.

She defines Gender = sex at birth, on the birth cert etc.
Him Yes they looked at my penis

Him i did not like the word cis
Her Cis is straight and Cis is homosexual

Has anyone posted JKR's blog yet?
