Hi all I can't see a thread about this conference next week in London (QEII). Lots of great speakers including Maya introducing Allison Bailey! Is anyone going? I'm considering going to some of it. Any idea if there will be protestors outside? My (elderly) mum is going.

@littlbrowndog

Kirsty got her picture taken with the 3 protesters and everything 🤣🤣🤣🤣💅

Blackman said she was just passing, not protesting.

TRAs never seem to consider that going to an event doesnt necessarily mean that the attendee agrees with what is being said. Someone might be full on TWAW/TMAN and still attend in order to hear the arguments of the other side.

@BaronessWrongCrowdRex

I don’t know about you but I find this wording quite sinister. Unfortunately I’m not on twatter so I can’t report them.

That Cathy Brennan.

That said, it's nonsense like this that makes me annoyed about people who take audience photographs. Under current conditions it is inviting bone-aching harassment of attendees and their employers.

@littlbrowndog

From prime minister

I'm waiting for this to be walked back or for there to be leaks from Carrie-related sources that this was a misunderstanding and nobody checked/performed due diligence.

As per Margaret Atwood, I would be thrilled to be wrong.

If we've got pink lanyards on, it's understood we don't want public pictures.

I can see light-coloured (pink?) lanyards in the Twitter picture upthread. That said, I don't know how many coloured lanyards are in use so I may be mistaking a light colour for pink.

Few more protesters now, we've been filmed if we popped out.

So there were more than 4 in the afternoon, I guess daytime tv wasn't that inclusive today. Ah well, no dinosaurs though.

I'm in the picture, quite close to the front. Someone else is directly obscuring me, though.

So 'scum' isn't a term of endearment then? Angela Rayner must have misunderstood.

(To be fair, and being pedantic, the facist scum this male voice refers to aren't even on the streets, all LGB Alliance conference attendees were inside.)

TRAs never fail to show the world what they are really like, one would have thought they may have scaled back a bit after the FiLiA sexual violence signs and drawings, but no, here they are in all their intolerant, abusive glory.

It was a fantastic day with some magnificent speeches. And the veggie lunch option -salad, quiche & sandwiches - was one of the best I’ve ever had.

The catering there is really good. The staff are usually really nice too.

The security people were lovely. And made us all feel much safer!

Knew it. Only fascists eat quiche.

Do antifa eat (vegan) egg and (vegan) bacon pie? Or frittata? Or do they save all eggs for throwing?

The clips from the speeches are informative and rousing by turns.

So there is no LGB without the T according to the protesters but why would anyone LGB align themselves with people shouting scum at them?

It was a really successful event, I hope we have something else to attend before next year's conference. LGB Alliance did a great job.
It was very well put together, great venue, great security, great speakers. I'm annoyed I left my glossy programme behind but hey. Here's to next year.

I think so, they can’t be wasted on eating.

I`m not sure they are grown up enough to understand this.

@KittenKong

And a disco (no Cisco apparently).

Wonder if that child even bothered to look up what “Cisco” actually is in the real world before they drew that sign 😂 it’s right up there with “No Cis In Team”.

Aside from the obvious fact that, by definition, at a meeting of hundreds of people that reject gender, there are no cis people there…..why are they protesting against cis people anyway? Targeting people for their gender identity “matching” their sex doesn’t seem a particularly progressive thing to do anyway?
