Just seen this:

As pointed out, where are the badges for people with learning disabilities?

Inclusion excluding people with real needs.

Monumental waste of money

The NHS is on it’s knees, and this ….?

Words fail me

WarriorN · 04/10/2021 11:31

Yup.

A local hospital now has a massive rainbow crossing instead of black and white one.... completely missing the point of the black and white crossing for those with partial sight. 🙄

Ghastly shit.
I wore a mask in suffragette colours when I got jabbed. One of the doctors (female) when handing me some vaccine info handout, said "like your mask". Could you imagine how much shit she would get for wearing something similar? Or even just a little badge.

AnyFucker · 04/10/2021 11:40

I work in the NHS and I got an email the other week with a sign off name then she/her

Oh, how I laughed. And puked.

For me, the rainbow badge/lanyard/anything signals the wearer's politics and their disrespect for women/women's rights. It tells me they don't care about women's safety or the provision of single sex wards for example.
It is a political and ideological statement and should have no place in the NHS, the Police, the Civil Service, Local Government or anywhere else that deals with the public.
Aside from that, it is a completely unnecessary waste of tax payers' money.

WarriorN · 04/10/2021 11:46

There's a current "queer feminist" artist displaying work at the Baltic in Gateshead. (It's shit and full of furries.)

For the first time ever the art gallery have plastered MASSIVE digital posters of their HATE CRIME policies all over the entrance.

Given the wide range of different artists and context they've had over the years, I fail to see why this exhibition has prompted all that.

They're all using pronouns in emails too.

I'd roll my eyes and shrug it off, it's not the NHS at least - but the exhibition was pitched at kids and ran "queer" workshops all summer.

Their use of a misogynistic slur that's commonly used to dehumanise women to justify rape and death threats against them is another way they're demonstrating they don't give a shit about women.

Hmm

Wasn't there a recent thread that highlight no EIA had been done for those and they're a problem for a broad range of pedestrians and drivers?
Jaysmith71 · 04/10/2021 12:11

....only the bigots will get run over.

I'm seeing how far into the uni term I can get before people pick up on the fact the bracelets I tend to wear around my wrist to fiddle with are suffragette colours. Considering the SU is worker than woke (although we do still have a women's officer with ovaries) - I'm expecting to be hung for thoughtcrime when anyone cottons on.

Our hospital has the same. I wonder if we're talking about the same one...? I'm in the east mids.

Although guessing there won't be just one that's done this.

I don't work in the NHS, but do work with them, I had a pronoun email the other day, I just did a little shake of my head.
Kenneldogsrock · 04/10/2021 12:16

@AnyFucker I’m with you. I’m NHS too and the number of ‘woke warriors’ is doing my head in when we are dealing with so much with the pandemic.

Username916 · 04/10/2021 12:18

I am the only person in my workplace (gp surgery) who does not wear this rainbow badge. It is getting increasingly awkward as people keep pointing theirs out to me asking if I've ordered mine yet. Pronouns haven't started yet in email trails but I don't think it will be long.

Artichokeleaves · 04/10/2021 12:22

Please don't blame LGB people for all this nonsense - as an L person frankly I find someone wearing a rainbow badge a clear sign that they support homophobic views that I should be 'inclusive' with my body of male sexed people, and that they will resist my access to single sex space or professionals if I need it. It's a signal I find alarming and excluding/alienating.

I find it really worrying that as everyone gets to the point over being very, very Over All This that LGB people are going to be seen as having been involved in getting to this point. Trust me, I've been called all the names and had all the threats as an L person; the inclusion bit isn't about homosexuality, it's about obedience to gender ideology.

No, NE. There was some confusion in my local feminist group about if it was for the pandemic. It wasn't.

Rainbow zebra crossings: ‘dangerous for disabled people and children’

www.thetimes.co.uk/article/rainbow-zebra-crossings-dangerous-for-disabled-people-and-children-g2lvmn0kr

WarriorN · 04/10/2021 12:23

There's also som me confusion for me about rainbows and rainbow babies, though I think the badge/symbol is different.

It also annoys me as I like rainbows without having to communicate some political statement.

OP posts:
MissyB1 · 04/10/2021 12:24

My friend at our local hospital got threatened with disciplinary if she refused to wear the rainbow lanyard. She told them “go ahead then!” They didn’t dare so instead they sent the diversity and inclusion officer to “have a chat” with her. She’s still not wearing it - good on her!

Artichokeleaves · 04/10/2021 12:24

Wtf is someone in a public facing role like a health care worker doing wearing a political symbol anyway? Can you think of this in any other situation?

"I provide care to people who are Catholic/vote Tory/are vegan, be very afraid of me and my equality of care if you're not of those groups or disagree with them and are therefore an evil bigot.'

Artichokeleaves · 04/10/2021 12:26

Mind you, I suppose at least vegans and Catholics don't come backed by political followers who post threats on line to kerb stomp you for not living their faith.

AnyFucker · 04/10/2021 12:28

The whole ethos of the NHS is that people are treated the same irrespective of everything and anything

I am not at work to make a political statement and show my allegiance with one specific group

Fuck that shit and shame on the those who think it is a good idea to waste scant resources on this shit

TimeToDateAgain · 04/10/2021 12:28

It's almost impossible to have access to: learning disability liaison nurses; the people who are Alzheimer's friendly; anyone who knows how to speak to someone who is deaf - but let's all wear a badge that signals slavish adherence to gender ideology and homophobia.

Does Sex Matters or any other organisation have an 'off the shelf' response to people being asked about why they don't have badges/lanyards/pronouns?
