Now this is interesting. Look, Dominic Cummings, a man aware enough of the matter to have opinions on it, has no idea what "trans man" with the space means. He's parsed it using the rules of standard grammar and concluded it means natal male with a transgender identity.

We keep saying that this is an issue in surveys and that when you ask random members of the public whether they think "trans women" should use communal changing rooms with females, they think they are being asked if transmen should have to go in the men's!

DC has called this right. Glad he didn't mince his words, even if he doesn't understand what transman means. It us quite telling though, his use of the wrong term illustrates the point Purgatory is making really well. We need clear words to describe the reality of things accurately.

Didn't he say something similar just after the Tories won the election? Anyway I like the way he gets straight to the point.

He's probably only saying this to annoy Carrie. From his ignorance of the terminology he clearly isn't interested enough to have read anything pertinent.

Frustrating that he confused his message by saying trans men when he meant transwomen. But it shows how little even usually well informed people understand about genderism.

Tbf, the user types a lot like him, if I remember his style of tweeting correctly, with the same kind of txtspk. But that doesn't mean it actually is him.

To my mind, he is using the approved Stonewall ideological formulation (probably because he's picked it up from their tweets and so on) complete with space! But he didn't check what they meant and just made a guess.

Sounds very likely, but I'm disturbed by the inference that Stonewall have influence over the PM via Carrie.
