'The ONS wouldn't tell any other group what to put on the census’

Why do people like KB come out with such utter wibble and consider it an argument?

The ONS tells EVERYONE what to put on the census. It’s a census. It doesn’t say “put whatever you like in the boxes, it’s a free for all, make it up”. It says “Put your sex/DOB/address/etc here and don’t lie.”

Damning resignation letter from Carey-Fuller

That really is a damning letter @WarriorN What a principled woman, and a sad indictment of the ideological obfuscation of trans rights activism/ gender extremist ideology.

Full of 'receipts' as they say.

NiceGerbil · 06/08/2021 20:15

Just browsing their policies.

'A Green view of rights acknowledges the interconnectedness of all things,'

🤣🤣🤣🤣

That's from Dirk gentlys holistic detective agency!

NiceGerbil · 06/08/2021 20:16

'Douglas Adams
"I'm very glad you asked me that, Mrs Rawlinson. The term `holistic' refers to my conviction that what we are concerned with here is the fundamental interconnectedness of all things. I do not concern myself with such petty things as fingerprint powder, telltale pieces of pocket fluff and inane footprints. I see the solution to each problem as being detectable in the pattern and web of the whole. The connections between causes and effects are often much more subtle and complex than we with our rough and ready understanding of the physical world might naturally suppose, Mrs Rawlinson.
"Let me give you an example. If you go to an acupuncturist with toothache he sticks a needle instead into your thigh. Do you know why he does that, Mrs Rawlinson?

No, neither do I, Mrs Rawlinson, but we intend to find out. A pleasure talking to you, Mrs Rawlinson. Goodbye."'

🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣

They mention sex here

'RR207 While seeking to maintain equity in meeting people's needs, people have responsibility for ensuring the absence of discrimination on the basis of age, disability, race, ethnicity, sex, gender, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, marital or civil partnership status, language, religion or other belief, national or social origin, opinion, economic status or any other social, physical or mental condition.'

NiceGerbil · 06/08/2021 20:47

This is fascinating!

Next up- not only sex work is work. Way further.

  1. Framing there are no difference between sex acts which are consensual (meaning no payment) and those paid. Start with general sex and it should be all fine between adults and in private. Then onto images (assume includes porn). Then at end exact same if money. Thus erasing and ignoring the well documented global harms of the sex industry. Like it's all sex that people want. And money is irrelevant.
  1. And same for porn.

Wow that goes a very long way.

'RR550 The Green Party believes that the law should not seek to regulate consensual sexual activities between adults where those do not affect others. Where there are such effects, a balance must be reached. Adults should be free to do as they wish with their own bodies, and to practice whatever form of sexual activity they wish by themselves or with each other by mutual consent. This includes the freedom not only to engage in such sexual acts, but also to be photographed or filmed doing so, to make such images available to other adults with their consent, and to be able to view such images. That someone might receive payment for any of these activities should not affect this freedom.'

Going to start a thread on the last one.

WarriorN · 06/08/2021 20:54

Lol Dirk quote.

They mention sex but she says they don't have a policy? Where they do seem to for other protected characteristics.

Yes it's definitely full of receipts, off to see your new thread. Jfc. They don't like women do they? (And I'm a member!)

WarriorN · 07/08/2021 07:52

Re discovered this tweet and finding the "debate my work place as legal" bit darkly amusing in the light of Webberly.

This was the night before international women's day.

"Sex-based rights was defeated" is one of the most depressing sentences I have ever read from a political party.

@AlfonsoTheMango

"Sex-based rights was defeated" is one of the most depressing sentences I have ever read from a political party.
Lets hope that sentence comes back to haunt them one day.
Jaysmith71 · 07/08/2021 12:34

"When I put myself forward as a candidate for GPRC London Rep, the online abuse started again and the Elections Coordinator for the London Regional Green Party (Stephan Liberadzki, complicit with Colin Boyle the Coordinator)) tried to avoid counting the vote (as I had won by a slim margin) and attempted to re-run the election again to get a different result!"

  • Andrea Carey-Fuller

The term "Eco-Fascist" starts to look less like a cheap playground insult.

Sex based rights are actual law. Connected to international law.

The rights being sought are not rights in law. They rely on overturning women's sex based legal rights and removing them from law.

What is happening is people acting outside the law and openly stating (as here, apparently in the name of a political party that seriously expects to stand for parliament) their disregard for democratically created law of the UK, and creating an intentional illusion that this law does not exist/does not say what it actually says/ has been 'defeated'. (Pray produce the Hansard record?)

Some would call this lying. It is certainly not behaviour one would expect from any person who intends being involved with a position of public office.

Artichokeleaves · 07/08/2021 13:39

Also of interest: why would one even bother standing as an MP when there is clear disrespect and disregard for the role of MPs and in fact of parliament, democracy and law? You can't both simultaneously want this position and value it while ignoring and defacing it.

I'm staggered MPs aren't slightly more active in preserving their own jobs here, if there's no actual sense of public duty still lingering.

I suspect there is a phenomenon where people with an agenda deliberately behave badly/break or disregard laws then cry persecution when they are called out or face consequences for it. It's a way to point the finger while simultaneously sabotaging their chances of being put in a position they are not capable of fulfilling.

Not saying this is necessarily what's going on with KB, or that it's always done consciously or deliberately, but I think it could sometimes explain this general phenomenon.
