That is quite a response. And a very sensible one. Why should they talk about that when they have just achieved what they have? I don't know if it necessarily tells us what they thought about it, but that they didn't want to enter into that discussion at all.

Yep. I wonder how many "positive" quotes that appear in the press are from people who get cornered like this? And the way the question is asked will also be a factor. People (perhaps like Emily Campbell previously) get backed into a corner.

I believe Douglas Murray calls these sort of questions "landmines".

Yes. It's infuriating. I can't imagine what it feels like to be one of the actual medal winners! Never mind about your fantastic achievements, let's talk about the competitor who did really badly.
