Am definitely having a 🍷 tonight. So pleased for you Maya, and so grateful.

Pan2 · 10/06/2021 20:32

The world is turning with a lot more sense today.

Thank you Maya.

EmilieDuChatelet · 10/06/2021 20:33

Brilliant news. For Maya and for all of us who want to discuss women's rights and women's issues. Thank you Maya and team.

NecessaryScene · 10/06/2021 20:34

Kristina Harrison testified in person in the original tribunal. The initial judgment basically ignored the testimony, just mentioning it in passing.

It got a bit more mention in the second judgment, to point out that even some trans people are gender critical.

yourhairiswinterfire · 10/06/2021 20:36

Kristina, of course! Thank you PenguindreamsofDraco.

Slightly off topic; I'm listing to WH interview with Lisa Keogh, I am finding Emma's interview questions actually quite good and detailed and hammering down on the difference between this being a freedom of speech or more specifically women not being allowed to discuss/ ask questions around this. It very much sounds like Lisa was put through the process due to her opinions.

I know they burnt their bridges with Maya and she was right to say no but I appreciated that interview.

WarriorN · 10/06/2021 20:40

Maya was mentioned a lot plus a discussion section on it all.

Worth the loss of the play imo.

1Endeavour2 · 10/06/2021 20:48

To Warrior, it's all well and good supporting women now Maya had won this leg but Emma Barnett had been a wobbly jelly blowing with the prevailing winds and is not a friend to women. The old team would have had Maya on months ago and had the courage to express their views. We have lost so much and have so far to go now to reclaim basic measures to protect women and girls.

Voice0fReason · 10/06/2021 20:59

This is such good and important news.
I am so thankful for women like Maya who have the strength and ability and are in the right circumstances to make a stand.
I'm raising a glass to her this evening.

ChewtonRoad · 10/06/2021 21:04

Congratulations to Maya and her team and thank you for all your hard work and determination.

Yes we've lost good uns. Especially Jenni

It's not Emma I'm most disappointed with, it's Anita.

Off to check Jenni's twitter..,

I'm yet to be convinced Emma is a lost cause yet though.

SpringCrocus · 10/06/2021 21:22

I still feel ridiculously happy, even now.
Raising a glass to Maya and all her legal team, and all us wimms who dug, supported, tweeted, shared. WineFlowersStar

Pan2 · 10/06/2021 21:34

JK Rowling Not sure if this is a big thing, but JK Rowling 'liked' a tweet of mine, just now, about Maya.
Do I save this for ever? Feeling a bit dizzy. Grin

Thelnebriati · 10/06/2021 21:38

You have to take a screen shot and give it its own folder Grin

Pan2 · 10/06/2021 21:42

I think so! Find out how to screen shot, and save it. I need a child to help me!
I just said "Thank you all", and there she was.

justanotherneighinparadise · 10/06/2021 21:59

You just know JKR will be helping to find these cases behind the scenes.

justanotherneighinparadise · 10/06/2021 21:59

Redshoeblueshoe · 10/06/2021 22:20

Congratulations Maya. I totally agree that JKR will be helping with funding, so thanks to both of them 🍷

jakeyboy1 · 10/06/2021 22:29

Good really but... Anyone else annoyed at the judges wording "gender critical views should be tolerated"

Still makes it sound like something is wrong!

jakeyboy1 · 10/06/2021 22:29

That should say good result but...

Zzelda · 10/06/2021 23:09

NONE of that is in anyway new or interesting. It's just a restatement of the status quo in an attempt to obfuscate what WAS said here

The quotes came from the court summary, and immediately preceded the judgment itself, so I don't think they were trying to obfuscate anything.

yourhairiswinterfire · 10/06/2021 23:10

Speaking of JKR, seen this?

The tolerance works in both directions. Neither of the sides to agree with the other. Or like each other. They just need to be able to co-exist.

See if you can find Mr Garrison's speech about "tolerance" from South Park. You're expected to tolerate a wide range of things; you don't have to and probably shouldn't approve of them all.

That's all a liberal society can demand.

SirVixofVixHall · 10/06/2021 23:23

BBC news coverage tonight was appalling , all “some people believe it isn’t possible to change sex” in the tone of talking about flat earthers.

MajesticWhine · 10/06/2021 23:27

Congratulations to Maya and thank you. I didn't realise how much this mattered but I feel a bit safer in my workplace today, thanks to Maya. Thanks
