Maya must be accustomed to feeling on edge and unsettled because this has dragged on for so long but even so it must be odd to have a time and date for the announcement (by email).

I hope that for the sanity of discussion in the social arena that the judgment is in her favour.

Maya will know the outcome, that's why she is very sensibly staying off SM. Contempt of court to leak a judgment in advance. I got twitchy for Harry the Owl when he was doing his tick tocks, silence is best at this stage!

Exactly. It is obviously, about establishing stuff in law. But it's also about shining sunlight on things that people are not yet aware of.

To be fair, if she loses there will be MILLIONS of people using their freedom of speech to prove that the law is wrong. One could probably make an argument for Maya losing being the quickest path to a return to sanity... but I hope she wins, obviously.

True. My mother would have said, "You can pray for the best but steel yourself for the worst." Yes, that pretty much was as optimistic as she got and I've adopted that.

As someone has mentioned, judgments are often released to the parties a few days in advance of being officially given, under strict embargo, so that any typos or miscalculations can be picked up before it is issued and the parties can be ready to deal with costs or ask for permission to appeal when it is officially handed down. It would be contempt of court to give away the result in advance.

Oh god I can't cope with this! At least it's only 2 days of nerves. I really really hope it has gone the right way. Good luck maya & team!
