I'm always surprised at the extent to which Mermaids as a children's charity feels it can dictate to the adult LGB community.

Mermaids also went after and elicited a grovelling apology from Boyz magazine last year. I can't remember the exact circumstances but it may have been to do with platforming the LGB Alliance in an issue. I think it led to the Terrence Higgins trust cancelling an AIDs awareness issue with them. So likely to also have an impact on gay men's health.

This isn't just about Mermaids though is it. It's about all those in the background pushing gender ideology who need rid of those defending sex based attraction or anything to do with rights based on sex.

So Mermaids, an organisation formed largely by and for straight couples who are into conversion therapy for their gender nonconforming children, are trying to damage a charity run by and for lesbians, gay men, and bisexuals.

There's a name for that.

Thanks for the reminder to set LGB Alliance up in Amazon Smile. Have been meaning to do that for ages. If anyone else wants to do it, in the Amazon app you choose the menu (far right icon at bottom of screen) and select gifting and charity. It’s self explanatory from there.

I thought there were rumblings at one time amongst TRAs that it wasn't appropriate for Mermaids to be led by non-trans people. SG seems to have weathered that storm so far. I saw that their income was right up in their most recent accounts. Was that because of that gamer raising a lot of money for them last year in some way?

What with the Nolan report, the bbc article about lesbians being persecuted for sex and stonewall selling out gays, and lesbians, I'm guessing that attempts to shut down a gay charity might not generate the most positive publicity.
