She's such a hateful bigot, isn't she?

JK Rowling has donated £1 million of royalties from one of her children’s books to help fight the Covid-19 crisis in India.

The Harry Potter author is understood to have split the sum between two UK-based charities involved in relief work, including the provision of emergency oxygen supplies.

Probably helps her to sleep at night for her gender bigotry by trying to offset with other charitable giving. Most people see through it

I think 'most' people see a woman who has expressed support for other women and who has a long history of philanthropy. And she has not expressed anything that is 'bigoted'. In fact, I think that the chair of the ERHC would be happy to support what she has said considering she, the chairperson, has stated that women discussing the impacts of the claims for rights by other groups is not hateful.

But, considering you also stated that Matthew Paris, one of the founders of Stonewall, should be educated on the history lessons about the LGBT community. I think 'most' readers would also hold your accusation towards Joanne Rowling in the same esteem as your opinion towards Matthew Paris.

However, I am interested in hearing exactly what you believe she has said that deserves such as accusation.

Whatsnewpussyhat thanks for that! I have pre-ordered my copy of The Christmas Pig too.

It sounds interesting - looking forward to another great story from JKR.

What is gender bigotry? Please explain?

mollythemeerkat · 23/05/2021 16:08

HaHa to people feeling "unsafe" in bookshops. Probably better not to go in them then, just in case those nasty transphobes are hiding behind the shelves ready to scare you. How ridiculous can you bloody get.

RedDogsBeg · 23/05/2021 16:08

Oh Mishy still making a fool of yourself I see, you really should take the advice of Abraham Lincoln I posted for you on the other thread:

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.

Most people see you and the TRA lobby you are part of for the dictatorial, authoritarian movement you are.

Sophoclesthefox · 23/05/2021 16:30

The word “bigotry” really does need a rest. It is called on to do way, way more than you’d ever think was in its remit! Particularly when deployed by people who are incensed because someone has views they disagree with. Maybe the word “irony” could step it and take some of the strain Grin

Matthew Paris has dubious claims to be a founder of Stonewall. What he says reeks of white male privilege and misogyny. The majority of LGBT people stand a mile away from him. LGBT is about equality and human rights and love - not white male gay privilege as he expresses.

So sorry, but I disagree.

Your hero was a great believer in equality. Not bigotry and exclusion as your philosophy proposes.

Let me leave you with this:

"We have, as all will agree, a free Government, where every (wo)man has a right to be equal with every other (wo)man. In this great struggle, this form of Government and every form of human right is endangered if our enemies succeed."

Abe would not be a gender criticalist! :)

Cleanandpress · 23/05/2021 16:46

Fascinating how much information you have about majority opinions on just about everything Mishy.

RedDogsBeg · 23/05/2021 16:47

Matthew Paris has dubious claims to be a founder of Stonewall.

Is your evidence for that the same as the evidence that it was a transwoman who threw the first brick at the Stonewall riots, you know provably false?

What he says reeks of white male privilege and misogyny

What TRA's say and do reeks of white male privilege and misogyny.

The majority of LGBT people stand a mile away from him. LGBT is about equality and human rights and love - not white male gay privilege as he expresses

Reaching just a tad there.

Cleanandpress · 23/05/2021 16:49

Nothing in that quote says I have to believe a man is a (wo)man Mishy.

RedDogsBeg · 23/05/2021 16:51

My philosophy does not propose bigotry or exclusion, yours on the other hand is riven with it.

Abe definitely would be on the gender critical side of the argument he would have seen your authoritarian agenda for exactly what it is.

@WinterTrees

PumpkinSpiceWoman you may want to think about changing your username. PumpkinSpiceMenstruator is a bit more inclusive, don't you think?
@PumpkinSpiceWoman

But then you are excluding people who have never had the potential to menstruate.

This!!
Thehawki · 23/05/2021 17:04

I don’t agree with her stance on transgender people but I do agree that she is a good person. I feel so bad that she has essentially been cancelled over trying to start a conversation. Why shouldn’t we listen to her concerns? I’m glad she could do this, and she has done this many times over I’m sure. She has a good heart.

Changing the meaning of words is de rigeur at the moment so perhaps we should just let the word bigotry identify as meaning the exact opposite of what it does after all acceptance without exceptionWink

One needs to read and understand things first before saying they can see right through them. You do seem to have form for commenting on things that you clearly haven't read. ☺️

Helleofabore · 23/05/2021 17:39

Matthew Paris has dubious claims to be a founder of Stonewall.

That this claim is so easily disproved really just shows your intention here. And the limit of your credibility. If you have proof otherwise, please post it for us all to see.

Also, please provide that evidence of where Joanne Rowling has said something bigoted or done something bigoted, and also consider it in light of the current EHRC statement.

Erikrie · 23/05/2021 17:50

Matthew Paris has dubious claims to be a founder of Stonewall.

Pop your evidence on this thread then...

Waits...

Waits some more.

Silence.

Hmm

TRAs have such form for saying that black is white and 2+2=5 that they probably warp their brains over time into happily saying any old lie.

I think many of them plop this stuff down in the hope people won't check. In fact they may be a victim of believing those who didn't bother to check, and then continued the problem of spreading incorrect information by also not bothering to check. 🤷

Waitwhat23 · 23/05/2021 19:09

They've also started to realise that shouting mantras, stifling debate, refusing to back up false statements with actual evidence and bullying people out of employment, etc is no longer working. People have started to wake up to what's going on. Like any dying regime, they're doubling down.
