She's such a hateful bigot, isn't she?

JK Rowling has donated £1 million of royalties from one of her children’s books to help fight the Covid-19 crisis in India.

The Harry Potter author is understood to have split the sum between two UK-based charities involved in relief work, including the provision of emergency oxygen supplies.

@PumpkinSpiceWoman

How lovely that a person can buy their way out of being criticised for bigotry! Capitalism is fabulous!

You'd better hope that they can. There are a lot of people who will be hoping donations will .ake up for their shouting down of autistic adult women when we tried to express our concerns for the autistic children of today. It's all going to be on record which people tried to silence us when we said it smelled like eugenics. But Emily Weir explains it better. Have a watch.

Except that the criticism is ignorant, nonsensical screeching from the most dubious of sources.

The only people who have dubious claims are men who think they are women and so think they can access women’s spaces

@KittyValentine

Probably helps her to sleep at night for her gender bigotry by trying to offset with other charitable giving. Most people see through it

Oh, grow up!

I am sure she sleeps very well at night with a clear conscience that she is doing the right thing with her profile, her money and her life.

@Thehawki

I don’t agree with her stance on transgender people but I do agree that she is a good person. I feel so bad that she has essentially been cancelled over trying to start a conversation. Why shouldn’t we listen to her concerns? I’m glad she could do this, and she has done this many times over I’m sure. She has a good heart.

She most certainly hasn’t been “ cancelled “ in any way, shape or form.

Oh do bugger off with that ridiculous comment! Good luck to her and her generosity

Well done JKR
She can always be relied upon to actually, and quietly, do acts of kindness instead of screaming at a computer screen for people to “BE KIND”

And they can't even spell his name right. He's Matthew Parris.

Doubling down by supplying endless tired old tropes. Not a good look. But it does show people how illogical their position truly is.

They've also started to realise that shouting mantras, stifling debate, refusing to back up false statements with actual evidence and bullying people out of employment, etc is no longer working. People have started to wake up to what's going on. Like any dying regime, they're doubling down.

TRAs have such form for saying that black is white and 2+2=5 that they probably warp their brains over time into happily saying any old lie.

I think many of them plop this stuff down in the hope people won't check. In fact they may be a victim of believing those who didn't bother to check, and then continued the problem of spreading incorrect information by also not bothering to check. 🤷

Matthew Paris has dubious claims to be a founder of Stonewall.

Pop your evidence on this thread then...

Waits...

Waits some more.

Silence.

Hmm

Matthew Paris has dubious claims to be a founder of Stonewall.

That this claim is so easily disproved really just shows your intention here. And the limit of your credibility. If you have proof otherwise, please post it for us all to see.

Also, please provide that evidence of where Joanne Rowling has said something bigoted or done something bigoted, and also consider it in light of the current EHRC statement.

One needs to read and understand things first before saying they can see right through them. You do seem to have form for commenting on things that you clearly haven't read. ☺️

@Sophoclesthefox

The word “bigotry” really does need a rest. It is called on to do way, way more than you’d ever think was in its remit! Particularly when deployed by people who are incensed because someone has views they disagree with. Maybe the word “irony” could step it and take some of the strain Grin

Changing the meaning of words is de rigeur at the moment so perhaps we should just let the word bigotry identify as meaning the exact opposite of what it does after all acceptance without exceptionWink

@WinterTrees

PumpkinSpiceWoman you may want to think about changing your username. PumpkinSpiceMenstruator is a bit more inclusive, don't you think?

@PumpkinSpiceWoman

But then you are excluding people who have never had the potential to menstruate.

Your hero was a great believer in equality. Not bigotry and exclusion as your philosophy proposes.

My philosophy does not propose bigotry or exclusion, yours on the other hand is riven with it.

Let me leave you with this:

We have, as all will agree, a free Government, where every (wo)man has a right to be equal with every other (wo)man. In this great struggle, this form of Government and every form of human right is endangered if our enemies succeed

Abe would not be a gender criticalist!

Abe definitely would be on the gender critical side of the argument he would have seen your authoritarian agenda for exactly what it is.

Cleanandpress · 23/05/2021 16:49

Nothing in that quote says I have to believe a man is a (wo)man Mishy.
