Girl pushed under train.

Thelnebriati · 10/05/2021 22:50

The girls all have to run past the boys to board the train.
One girl is kicked in the face, spat on, shoved, tripped up, and ends up falling on to the tracks.

The guard in they hi vis yellow jacket just watches.

I'm at the end of my tether with male violence and entitlement.

I wish it was enforceable,to round up these dangerous nasty lads who have a herd mentality, and to take them to somewhere akin to an army training camp for a few weeks, and to have some brutal training,to teach them some respect and manners towards all people, and to get them off the streets for some time.

Was this not tried many years ago, the "Short Sharp Shock"? I don't think it made any difference.

@TheBullfinch

Good god. Just Googled attacks in Dublin by gangs of youths and it seems its rife and nothing new. Gangs of 100 on the rampage, jumping on cars, attacking people, and nobody can stop them it seems.
What happened here is horrific, no doubt. But you are misinformed. I live in Dublin. For sure there's issues with anti social behaviour in some areas. Anecdotally it's worsened during lockdown.

However, it's not ubiquitous & certainly not limited to Dublin.

EarringsandLipstick · 11/05/2021 03:26

@Gothichouse40

I didn't realise Dublin had these problems. Such a beautiful city.
In the same way as many cities, not specific to Dublin.
Rejoiningperson · 11/05/2021 03:40

This isn’t a male/female problem as much as a culture of violence in young groups, basically going around beating everyone up. Someone’s going to end up really serious soon. Probably bought up with violence. The football club have issued a statement but have not said they will kick him out. Which is a completed cop out.

I think those lads should be made to do community service in all of their spare time and curfew at night. They’ve lost the right of freedom until they’ve paid a debt back to society.

IHateCoronavirus · 11/05/2021 03:57

Bloody hell that poor girl. The boys should be made to pay, and the parents should be made to pay. The fact that these boys have grown up with so few boundaries and values is just as much neglect as a child who grows up without any other need being catered for.
A clear sharp message needs to be sent out that shitty parenting has consequences, perhaps then it will stop being the easy option!

MrsTroutfireVII · 11/05/2021 04:20

@Susannahmoody

Sounds bloody awful.

When will men make boys accountable?

Why only men and not society?

It's already happening all over the UK. Look at all the stabbings between rival gangs. Two youths were shot in Smethwick only the other day (colleague had to give evidence as he was at the scene two mins before it happened).

That is what prison is for.
MrsTroutfireVII · 11/05/2021 04:35

But allegedly prison often just teaches them more criminal skills and broadens their network. A lot of working class boys don't seem very scared of the prospect.

I used to live in Dublin, about 20 years ago now (#oldhag) and there would be occasional street harassment and yobs outside pubs on a Friday night but nothing this bad. These lads are out of control and seem to think they can do what they like in broad daylight. I don’t think we have ASBOs in Ireland but they need to introduce them to knock this loutish behaviour on the head.

What struck me too is how inured to it the girls seem to be. They’re just heads-down, trying to push through to catch their train, not even shocked at the yobs, just numb to it all. So sad to think young women in Dublin in 2021 are having to get used to this misogynist crap on the streets. I never had to just put up or shut up like that when I was that age. Where are the consequences for these little pricks?

And they were EVERYWHERE. The antisocial tracksuited little bastards. No escaping them. The rubbish, the spitting, the swearing, the fights...
like ants

If it's not a male female problem then where are the roaming gangs of female thugs?
UsedUpUsername · 11/05/2021 05:35

For a city the size of Dublin ... it’s pretty bad.

No one in authority is willing to push back for whatever reason and these thugs almost always get away with their bad behaviour.

These pathetic guys would shit their pants if faced with real gang violence

HelgaDownUnder · 11/05/2021 05:36

It looks like the guard has his hands full with trying to get the whole gang off the train. What is one person in a yellow vest supposed to do against a whole gang, who clearly have no fear of any consequence?

I'd say gang violence is a growing problem in most western cities - it's mostly, but not always male perpetrators.
Paining it as an issue of male entitlement against women ignores the small but growing number of female-initiated attacks and the mainly male victims of these crimes.

It's a sickening video regardless.

echt · 11/05/2021 05:53

Those types of boys attack anyone they see as weak or vulnerable - they would go after a lone man as well. It seems the same group attacked a boy aged about 15 recently and he ended up in hospital

Could you really not do this? These were women who were attacked. What happens to men need another thread.

Is this another way of saying NAMALT??

We aren’t exactly bombarded by stories and images of young women attacking males...

Theunamedcat · 11/05/2021 06:10

Yes this thread will soon fill up with screams of namalt its sickening

Lavanderrose · 11/05/2021 06:12

Awful! This type of behaviour happens in schools also, kids spat at and kicked. If in schools police had to be involved it would send a message that this type of behaviour is never acceptable.
