Girl pushed under train.

Thelnebriati · 10/05/2021 22:50

The girls all have to run past the boys to board the train.
One girl is kicked in the face, spat on, shoved, tripped up, and ends up falling on to the tracks.

The guard in they hi vis yellow jacket just watches.

I'm at the end of my tether with male violence and entitlement.

@Graffitiqueen

Not sure if any of you have seen the longer video where the girl is pulled back up onto the platform by security and the security guy drops to his knees and leans against g the wall for support afterwards.

We all know the aspiring footballer will get away with it. They always do.

That’s just shocking. This could be a chance for the assailant’s football club to make a clear statement about male violence by throwing him out. They won’t though.
Graffitiqueen · 10/05/2021 23:26

Longer video. twitter.com/justsay80185334/status/1391326064874512391?s=21

Nannyamc · 10/05/2021 23:31

OMG this is truly horrific. So glad they managed to save her. Little feckers need to pay for this big time.

VenusTiger · 10/05/2021 23:36

I've seen the whole video on Twitter @Thelnebriati and 3 girls are assaulted from what I saw - it's not the same girl who gets shoved under the train - one girl is punched and another is kicked in the face (in the still you've attached) and a third girl is shoved down onto the tracks.

Watching the guard just stand there made me so bloody frustrated!

MsOgyny · 10/05/2021 23:38

That is horrific. Good god something dramatic needs to happen to put a stop to violence against women. How utterly utterly stupid and senseless do you have to be to kick someone under a train? What the hell were they getting out of it, kicking out at all those girls?

JustAGirlFromHoe · 10/05/2021 23:42

What the hell have I just watched??? Horrifying and heartbreaking in equal measure. When did this type of behaviour become normal.

None of the girls that were spat at or verbally abused seemed to react apart from to swerve. It’s as if they are used to being treated like this. Awful, just awful and shocking.

SuperSleepyBaby · 10/05/2021 23:45

The guard was trying to clear a dangerous gang of youths on bikes from a carriage. I don’t know how anyone could face doing work like that for the type of pay he probably gets.

I think the guard’s view of what was happening to the girls was obscured - and he was still trying to get others from the gang off the train.

I imagine too that the guard was trying to manage the situation - as there was probably one or two guards against an out of control gang - he would probably have been attacked himself if he failed to manage it right and that would have helped no one. The gang would enjoy if the guard intervened so they could square up to him and abuse him too.

I just wish there was consequences for these boys but there isn’t and they know they can do what they want.

I don’t like the thought of my daughter or my son having to encounter people like this when they start using public transport alone. It makes me feel like I want to drive them everywhere for life but that is not realistic.

Happycat1212 · 10/05/2021 23:54

They are not suppose to step in, when I was abused on a bus I called to complain about the driver for not doing anything and was told they weren’t suppose to step in and if I felt threatened i should have called the police 🤷‍♀️ So the same probably applies to the guard

Flaxmeadow · 10/05/2021 23:58

When I first saw this I was horrified but what I hadn't noticed at first was that one of the girls had been pushed between the train onto the track!!! It was bad enough even without that

Horrible entitled little bastards

Gothichouse40 · 11/05/2021 00:08

It's really awful. Ive also heard this type of thing happens on the New York Subway to both men or women. A guy whose blogs I look at who lives there, keeps telling people to stand with their backs to the wall. There has been an increase in 'pusher' incidents. It's just horrible. To be fair I don't know how the guy in New York gets his information.

bitheby · 11/05/2021 00:12

It's the guy with the bike that trips her

Zinco · 11/05/2021 00:19

Can only hope they don't get away with it without some serious consequences but obviously no confidence that happens.

With the guard, you put hands on a child these days, you might get arrested over it. And obviously the risk of being attacked by a pack of animals.

babbaloushka · 11/05/2021 00:24

It's disgusting, if she had died (and she easily could have) they would be imprisoned for manslaughter or potentially murder. Anyone know if they've been charged?

Flaxmeadow · 11/05/2021 00:29

Also the guard might have noticed the girl but been occupied with keeping the train stationary, an emergency switch or calls to the driver or some other procedure. To immediately help the girl that way

SuperSleepyBaby · 11/05/2021 00:34

Another video on twitter-the one with faces blurred out -shows the guard rushing over just after the girl fell and pulling the girl off the tracks and up onto the platform.

DdraigGoch · 11/05/2021 00:43

I'm a railway guard in the UK. We are absolutely NOT trained or equipped for anything physical. We are told to avoid confrontation, to retreat to a safe place and call the police or ask our security contractors to intervene.

Wannabe Sir Galahad I might be - with strong chivalrous instincts to defend the vulnerable - there's still no way that I'd be wading alone into the middle of a teenage gang. One of our security staff got badly beaten up by such a gang recently.

TheBullfinch · 11/05/2021 00:50

Good god. Just Googled attacks in Dublin by gangs of youths and it seems its rife and nothing new. Gangs of 100 on the rampage, jumping on cars, attacking people, and nobody can stop them it seems.

LyndaSnellMBE · 11/05/2021 01:10

Signed the petition

Susannahmoody · 11/05/2021 01:23

Sounds bloody awful.

When will men make boys accountable?

EsmaCannonball · 11/05/2021 01:23

I saw this video on Sunday and I just can't understand how parents can raise children like this and not be utterly ashamed of them and themselves. When I clicked onto the story there was another article about a 15 year old boy in Ireland being prosecuted for stabbing a 48 year old woman to death as she left her office-cleaning job.

The thing that gets me is that many of the women wailing over this on Twitter never seem to stop and ask themselves how males like this will behave in mixed-sex facilities. Can you imagine how these yobs will behave if they are allowed to hang out in the women's toilets? Can you imagine having one in the bed next to you as you recover from an operation? I wish women would join the dots and see the damage they are doing when they give away our spaces.

Laaaaa · 11/05/2021 01:24

Signed the petition. Thank you for raising awareness

TheNestedIf · 11/05/2021 01:28

If there was a job that entailed kicking them in the bollocks 100 times daily, or as much as I liked, whichever was more I'd apply and never, ever retire.

Harriedharriet · 11/05/2021 01:46

I feel sick.

I have NEVER seen such a thing.

Those girls are clearly USED to this.

Why are they allowed on the train?

Why are there no police on the streets?

States spend all their bloody money buying technology to solve a crime AFTER it has been done. Put police on the streets in numbers and stop it before.

Train companies who do not hire enough staff should not get contracts.

Gothichouse40 · 11/05/2021 02:05

I didn't realise Dublin had these problems. Such a beautiful city.
