Knew this would happen, had to turn down job

I'm furious, have been out of work for a while. Was offered a temporary contract writing and implementating policy for a public sector organisation. Just up my street and would really have helped us out. Turns out they're Stonewall champions and are full on TWAW and have all rights to anything they want. I asked to review some of their current policies and it's all cisgender crap and lists of stuff we must and mustn't do to make all Trans people safe. We'll I've obviously had to turn down the role and worse I told the recruiter why so will probably never get a job through them now. There are companies out there that haven't bought into all this crap aren't there?

OP posts:

@Scepticaltank

Did Op say this was an issue? You must have missed the question.

You did, you said it, it seems to be the reason you are here, to express how appalled you are at feminists not wanting to keep men safe in toilets at Stonewall clients.

There's the list. As you are concerned for men, perhaps you should be encouraging Stonewall to have a safe toilets for men campaign?

No. I'm still waiting for someone to tell me what the policies are OP is concerned about.

Neither OP or PP seem able to tell me this.

Scepticaltank · 22/04/2021 21:47

Or he realised he ws wasting his breath.

Is this the trans rights gotcha? You all know our own families better than we do?

Butwasitherdriveway · 22/04/2021 21:47

@Waitwhat23

You're not convincing anyone. You 'don't care' about making interesting, well reasoned arguments. You accuse this board of being an echo chamber while doing nothing to change anyone's minds.

Do you realise what you are you doing? It's certainly not benefiting your cause.

I'm not here to change your mind my dear. I don't answer to you.
Ereshkigalangcleg · 22/04/2021 21:47

Ironically, trans people also experience high rates on unemployment just for being trans.

Oh do they? I thought we couldn't tell who most of them were? Interesting.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 22/04/2021 21:48

Neither OP or PP seem able to tell me this.

They don't answer to you, do they?

Scepticaltank · 22/04/2021 21:49

No-one is going to bother, you have spat your dummy out already. It can stay on the floor.

It is illuminating.

Anyone who thinks that it isn't the case that some people think they were born in the wrong body shouldn't really be able to give an opinion on the issue. I think what PP thinks is embarrassment is rather him knowing he's wasting his time.

Me?

Nah.

I'm good.

Ah. So OP can just post I didn't take this job because I don't like their policies aren't I wonderful and we all just have to agree . I SEE. Silly me.

I'd love to see this lot last two seconds in AIBU. No wonder they stay over here in echo chamber land where woman is good, and man and trans is bad. Must be lovely.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 22/04/2021 21:51

That's not what Sceptical's son said. He was definite about the "born in the wrong body" hypothesis. Which is unfalsifiable pseudoscience.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 22/04/2021 21:52

we all just have to agree

No one said that, did they?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 22/04/2021 21:53

There are plenty of threads in AIBU on these topics. Surprised you haven't seen them?

You said I couldnt ask what the policies were, as did other PP.

So what's the alternative?

Oh I have.

But I meant in general if someone wants to get praise for majestically not taking a job due to policies but won't or can't tell is what these policies are, it's a bit odd (other than relying on posters to see the words stonewall and pile in).

www.crosslandsolicitors.com/site/hr-hub/transgender-discrimination-in-UK-workplaces

"Our shocking new report reveals a strong prejudice among UK employers towards transgender workers with 1 in 3 employers admitting they are ‘less likely’ to hire a transgender person and nearly half (43%) unsure if they would recruit a transgender worker."

The feminist board doesn't care about anyone other than biological women.

The raison d'être of feminism is to advocate for the rights of women and girls as a sex class. Just like we don't expect a donkey sanctuary to take in cats.

In your opinion.
VanGoghsDog · 22/04/2021 21:57

No-one said you couldn't ask, they said she didn't have to respond.

countrypunk · 22/04/2021 21:57

@Butwasitherdriveway

Nope, that's not an opinion, that's a well documented fact.

countrypunk · 22/04/2021 21:58

@Butwasitherdriveway

Oh, and even organisations like Mermaids are distancing themselves from the whole 'born in the wrong body' shower of shit, so you're really barking up the wrong tree there.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 22/04/2021 21:58

Also known as transphobia

No. Not believing a pseudoscientific ideological theory as the unconvincing explanation for a psychological medical condition is not "phobic".

The idea that declaring yourself a member of the opposite sex trumps actually being born into that sex is not even coherent in any way, there's very little logic involved. It's just a statement of faith.

@VanGoghsDog

Neither she doesn't.

But do you not think it's odd that an Op has said she's leaving a job because she doesn't like the policies (that she hasn't given ) and people have applauded her? Pp are making up things about toilets that haven't been said.

VanGoghsDog · 22/04/2021 21:59

No-one said you have to agree. You don't have to post. People don't have to only post what you want them to post.
