I'm furious, have been out of work for a while. Was offered a temporary contract writing and implementating policy for a public sector organisation. Just up my street and would really have helped us out. Turns out they're Stonewall champions and are full on TWAW and have all rights to anything they want. I asked to review some of their current policies and it's all cisgender crap and lists of stuff we must and mustn't do to make all Trans people safe. We'll I've obviously had to turn down the role and worse I told the recruiter why so will probably never get a job through them now. There are companies out there that haven't bought into all this crap aren't there?

@Scepticaltank

I had a conversation with my two DSs , 23 and 25 about why women are defending the legal Equality Act 2010 sex exemptions against a push to change sex exemptions to a gender identity choice. I asked them exactly how they considered a male to be female.

My youngest's eyes lit up, he had an answer, he had read it on the internet. He started to explain to me that there are male brains and female brains and sometimes they are in the wrong body. I saw his eyes change as he realised he was talking shite to his mother who he clearly does not consider a lady brain kind of person.

It was quite funny.

I am glad you find it amusing that your son understands (well done to him ) that people can think they were born in the wrong body and want to change their gender.

Hilarious.

Hopefully you do not pass this ridiculous behaviour on to him..

Ereshkigalangcleg · 22/04/2021 21:34

Yes, mine thought that too. She’s honestly quite bright really. Think she’d got mixed up somewhere between the vague discussion of gene editing and the awkward language about people ‘transitioning to female’ and assumed that science could somehow really do it.

We forget that we’re looking at this from a place of knowing the facts before someone got in there with the confusing language.

Yes, exactly. It's not presented honestly or factually.

Scepticaltank · 22/04/2021 21:35

"The principle of refusing to keep trans woman safe"

Exactly how are male people not safe in corporate office toilets?

Especially when females are categorically not permitted to say they are unsafe in mixed sex facilities?

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 22/04/2021 21:35

I'd sooner clean public toilets with my tongue than work there.

Did OP say that's the case in this job? Must have missed that.

There are posters on FWR who do not hold GC views and while I might disagree with them, they make points and discuss things on threads in am interesting, well reasoned way which makes me really consider my views.

You are not one of those posters.

Dearie me. How would a female brain develop in a male zygote. Does he think sometimes kidneys develop along female lines in a male zygote too?

No, as he said nothing like that.

Here's the terrifying list of scary toilets unsafe for males to enter.

Mm.

Did Op say this was an issue? You must have missed the question.

He realised he was talking embarrassing shite as he was saying it. That's the pitfall with vaguely absorbed internet nonsense, its rubbish but you accidently use it in front of intelligent people.

Butwasitherdriveway · 22/04/2021 21:42

@Waitwhat23

That's obvious. You're determined to bore the arse of everyone instead.
I know. so boring. As opposed to 23 posts of you go hun to a situation you actually know nothing about. But she's a feminist!!!! And hates stonewall. So that's fine.

Do you realise what you're doing?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 22/04/2021 21:42

He started to explain to me that there are male brains and female brains and sometimes they are in the wrong body.

As Sceptical's son clearly realised, he had a bit of a brain wobble, but then realised he was spouting pseudoscientific nonsense, because he obviously has a sensible mum who has brought him up not to succumb to poorly thought through, unsupported ideas, however fashionable they may be.

Yeah...that.

Or he realised he ws wasting his breath.

Sorry, forgot I was on the feminist board where women are never in any way wrong.

What he said was right.

Waitwhat23 · 22/04/2021 21:46

You're not convincing anyone. You 'don't care' about making interesting, well reasoned arguments. You accuse this board of being an echo chamber while doing nothing to change anyone's minds.

Do you realise what you are you doing? It's certainly not benefiting your cause.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 22/04/2021 21:46

I'm sure that pp here know their children better than you.

Scepticaltank · 22/04/2021 21:46

Did Op say this was an issue? You must have missed the question.

You did, you said it, it seems to be the reason you are here, to express how appalled you are at feminists not wanting to keep men safe in toilets at Stonewall clients.

There's the list. As you are concerned for men, perhaps you should be encouraging Stonewall to have a safe toilets for men campaign?

Shizuku · 22/04/2021 21:46

This is also a problem for racists and homophobes - if you hold views that other people find objectionable, it can definitely affect your employability.

Ironically, trans people also experience high rates on unemployment just for being trans.
