She's mainly being pulled apart in the comments due to, you know, lying.

No doubt in my mind that she's getting puberty blockers and the contraceptive pill mixed up.

Such a shame as I have been following her since my early 20's and found her feminism very accessible back then.

Am I being unreasonable to say she's talking nonsense??

Excellent!

Has anyone asked her why the boys weren’t prescribed them for their heavy periods too? Such a dipshit.

Jameela's latest.

Hell hath no fury like a Transphobe on Twitter. Remember if they come this hard for the allies, imagine what they do to actual members of the community. This is why we have to keep showing up in support. To create a wall between the most unprotected people on earth and the mob.

The most unprotected people on earth.

The most unprotected people on earth.

That is a phrase I might use for people in refugee camps. Girls subjected to repeated rapes in war zones. The Yazidis. Girls and women tricked into prostitution by criminal gangs who end up locked in brothels with barbed wire at the windows to keep them inside. Disabled people in countries where there is no provision. Homeless men and women living on the streets. The footage of toddlers ignored in cots in Romanian orphanages. Amazonian tribes whose lands are logged from under them.

I am so filled with rage that anyone within 50 miles can doxx me. I'm in the house with molten lava spouting from the chimney.

PotholeHellhole · 16/04/2021 15:07

Does Jameela know that it's estimated 800 girls a day are subjected to FGM? Without anaesthetic? Their genitals cut off? That girls die of it?

That little girls as young as nine are forced to "marry" much older men every year? That some of them die on their "wedding" night from their injuries?

I suggest she shuts her mouth and opens her purse. We've got a list of charities who would be glad of it.

The language she uses is so unnecessarily inflammatory. Why is she so desperate to pitch a battle between two sides? Do you think she imagines herself as the brave and beautiful saviour of the needy?

I mean, what good is she doing with her violent rhetoric?

AssassinatedBeauty · 16/04/2021 15:35

It strikes me as narcissistic rage at being pulled up on an obvious lie.

PotholeHellhole · 16/04/2021 15:40

For the sake of my TV set and its screen, I will never watch anything with her in again.

I won't ever be able to see her face without remembering her using her platform to dismiss the plight of the truly unprotected on this earth.

GCAcademic · 16/04/2021 15:50

She sounds personality disordered, going by those tweets.

UnderHisAye · 16/04/2021 15:51

It's a shame because The Good Place is so great. Kristen Bell seems so genuine, she probably gives her a wide berth.

ForeverFaithless · 16/04/2021 15:56

PotholeHellhole - similarly for Izzard, I might have been able to watch the new film he's in if his character got knocked off fairly quickly. I'd rather watch Thor or Wonder Woman again, at least they have entertaining visuals

AryaStarkWolf · 16/04/2021 16:05

@Mugginyouleftrightandcentre

She is notorious for, ahem, 'inconsistencies' about her past, so I would imagine this is another one of those times where she has got herself a little bit mixed up.

I was also at an all girls school in the 90s and can confirm that puberty blockers for heavy periods was not A Thing.

Same, the Pill was, anyone in school in 90's (any female anyway) should know that, what kind of a moron is she?
PotholeHellhole · 16/04/2021 16:09

I once read that it was important for celebrities not to over-saturate newspapers and magazines with publicity about themselves, because at some point the public gets sick of seeing their face and starts avoiding productions with them in.

I am now at this point for Eddie Izzard. I don't even open rant threads about Eddie if I see that name in the thread title.

EdgeOfACoin · 16/04/2021 16:12

Also, is the pill still prescribed for girls with heavy periods? I kind of assumed it was. If not, when and why did the practice stop?

And, similarly, if PBs were ever prescribed to teenage girls for heavy periods in the 90s (which they weren't, but let's go with it), when and why did the practice stop?

My daughter was prescribed the pill for heavy and painful periods in the last 4 years yes
peanutbutterjimjams · 16/04/2021 16:20

Eddie Izzard is one of the most unprotected people on earth.

Sure, Jam.

drwitch · 16/04/2021 16:21

@underhiseye. I think having chidi and Micheal explain to tahania why she is being so dangerous would be a great episode

ArabellaScott · 16/04/2021 16:22

Puberty blockers for athletes foot, you say? Willing to give it a go, Jameela.

If they ever were, I'd imagine that doctors at some point realised that stopping puberty entirely was not an appropriate response to the problem of heavy periods. A bit like how a lobotomy is not an appropriate response to a headache.

Grin The idea it ever happened except possibly in the rarest of rare circumstances is absurd.
