She's mainly being pulled apart in the comments due to, you know, lying.

No doubt in my mind that she's getting puberty blockers and the contraceptive pill mixed up.

Such a shame as I have been following her since my early 20's and found her feminism very accessible back then.

Am I being unreasonable to say she's talking nonsense??

I’m hardly rewriting your post Need. Look at your choice of wording. “Well bred fillies”? Hmm The scorn and judgment drips off you.

I only know of one girl and her family at the school but she are the opposite of what you’re describing.

randomlyLostInWales · 15/04/2021 15:17

Most of us were expected to put up and shut up about heavy periods in the 90s. If you were lucky you got a prescription for the contraceptive pill.

That was my experience but it's been the same as an adult - male or female GP - most I've every got is pill perscription or, as I age, hard sell for Mirena coil which I don't want.

My mother had hysterectomy about my age now because she suffered so - if she was in same situation now I don't think she qualify.

I think it's only since 2000 I started to hear about puberty blockers with the whole idea becoming more and more mainstream since then.

JJ's doubled down on Twitter and clarified the whole bee-dramas as "bee chases, not stings" although why being chased by a bee is at all worthy of note I have no idea Hmm

UnderHisAye · 15/04/2021 15:36

Jameela is not as young as she thinks she is.

So true. I think she's 17 in her head. I mean, I know I was a complete arse when I was 17, for example.

Wasn't she run over (at least once) whilst escaping bee attacks (not sure if it was a swarm of killer bees)? Or so she has said.

She also gaslit / bored Mark Ronson into submission about the ‘killer bees’

I just imagined the amount of fucks Mark Ronson must give about this.

It didn't take long.

Deliriumoftheendless · 15/04/2021 18:28

Team Bee all the way, mate.

Love the comment Mark Robson makes about the bee incident in the Junkee website article.

ForeverFaithless · 15/04/2021 23:26

OMG - has anyone seen how this has 'taken off' on twitter??

It's hilarious Grin - people posting outrageous 'memories' of how PBs were used in their youth.

GCAcademic · 15/04/2021 23:37

DH mentioned that there was a recent episode of Moral Maze about celebrities championing causes they don’t necessarily understand. Sounded interesting.

PearPickingPorky · 16/04/2021 04:38

Can people stop posting bloody Wikipedia as medical advice please.

There is NO evidence of PBs ever being used in the UK (and I doubt anywhere else) for treating heavy periods in girls.

Dangerous to give this nonsense any credence.

NecessaryScene1 · 16/04/2021 06:04

It's hilarious grin - people posting outrageous 'memories' of how PBs were used in their youth.

Experts believe they were even used by the ancient Egyptians, and later some native American tribes.

A long and rich cultural history. This isn't like the conventional medicines produced by your Western imperialist "science".

Smokeahontas · 16/04/2021 09:32

JJ threw the first PB at the Stonewall riot.

RoyalCorgi · 16/04/2021 10:19

She means well, but unfortunately she is quite dim.

That could be the epitaph for so many people involved in this debate.

What's the saying - the road to hell is paved with good intentions?

Sillyduckseverywhere · 16/04/2021 13:37

She wants it to go away without admitting she's wrong.
You seen the amount of retweets she's done in the past few hours?

Also another good thread from Malcolm Clark

Some people seem very keen to imply that puberty blockers are really no more than generic brand paracetomol, available over the counter for 25p and bunged in a basket along with lip gloss and some Superdrug own brand body spray.
