Can somebody tell me how to access or provide a link (not direct link otherwise it will be deleted) so I can dig (again) to FWS.

Head to their twitter a/c is probably easiest.

from what I can tell although self ID is not law, but it may as well be.

Quite intentional plan.

Get ahead of the law: get it to be normal and every day practice, get everyone used to it and believing they have no means of recourse from it, and then when the law's changed no one'll argue. (Except those bloody women who won't just shut up and hand over their rights quietly.)

This also means that when women want the law actually followed and insist on their own rights being respected too, you get the whole

  • its been happening for years and you never noticed/minded
  • you're rolling back rights
  • the law and everyone using it is now totally confused by captured departments and the law having been re written and re worded to fit a preferred reality and then given as being the objective truth.

In all honesty, the level of gerrymandering and its success is bloody shocking. It's absolutely shocking.

I keep thinking however that those who broke this very grubby path need to think carefully. Because it's now been demonstrated how very easily a country's laws can be shifted in favour of a lobby group and a narrative created that makes it not only possible but MPs and others ranting loudly about the virtue of stripping away rights and being openly prejudiced against certain groups in favours of others.

Its beyond stupid. Because in a country where this can happen, you have nothing more than hoping your group stays in current fashion and favour. It can just as easily be you under the bus tomorrow, there'll be plenty of others happy to follow your lead to get what they want.

Anyone know how they are doing on costs? Some will have donated via their site rather than crowdjustice so I assume the total is higher than the crowdjustice total

toffeebutterpopcorn · 25/03/2021 15:46

Must be close - about 18k off last time i looked

Daughterofmabel · 25/03/2021 16:48

Nearly 125. Website will update soon re costs

FionnulaTheCooler · 25/03/2021 18:39

Is anyone else blocked on Twitter by FWS? I am, despite the fact that I only follow and have never actually tweeted, I can only assume I've been added to an automatic block list for following the SNP/Nicola Sturgeon's accounts over there.

MissBarbary · 25/03/2021 19:08

Have you seen these tweets from Kirsty Blackman

Kirsty Blackman

Replying to

Is there research showing that discrimination happens on the basis of actual sex rather than perceived sex or gender? Because otherwise it seems that a lot of energy is being poured into arguing about solving a problem that doesn’t exist, at the expense of solving one that does

MichelleofzeResistance · 25/03/2021 19:13

Considering TM have been raped - despite presenting and sobbing to their attacker that they are male - I think it's sex that's the issue.

I'm pretty sure the aborted baby girls and the married off 8 year olds aren't suffering their discrimination on the grounds of perceived gender either. If women could opt out of their sex they would. This is all about - as always - trying to shoehorn male people into the group and forced team them.

MissBarbary · 25/03/2021 19:15

And as for the idiocy of "trafficking a perceived girl for fgm".

Blackman really is spectacularly dim.

MichelleofzeResistance · 25/03/2021 19:15

Confused oh but.... says the clever person, I'd class that as something completely different (to get the inconvenient bit out of the way of my agenda) so look, it can still be a mixed sex issue!

Main issue here: the absolute necessity to centre male born people in this as the most affected women. Everything else (notably all the female born people) second. Sexism on crack and in total denial.

MichelleofzeResistance · 25/03/2021 19:17

Sorry Miss Barbary thanks for sharing those. I'll collect the bits of my exploded head.

Manderleyagain · 25/03/2021 19:21

And her follow up tweet when someone raised fgm

"I absolutely take your point on FGM, but I suppose I would have classed it as abuse rather than discrimination. I also think that I’d like to see the same penalties for someone trafficking a girl for the purposes of FGM as someone trafficking a perceived girl for FGM."

I don't know if she meant a male child who ppl think is female?? A female child would so obviously be covered by the laws.

Manderleyagain · 25/03/2021 19:22

Sorry cross post.

MissBarbary · 25/03/2021 19:26

It's just a minor point in the depths of her stupidity but what does she think "trafficking" means?

CloudFormations · 25/03/2021 19:39

I have received many a judgment from Lady Wise in my time. She continues to be a brilliant legal mind. I’m delighted with this judgment, and proud to be Scottish today.

ArabellaScott · 25/03/2021 19:41

"trafficking a perceived girl for fgm"

What ... what does she think fgm is?

Sophoclesthefox · 25/03/2021 19:44

Good lord above, “a perceived girl”? “Trafficked for FGM”?

Has she thought about what she’s saying at all?

MissBarbary · 25/03/2021 19:46

@ArabellaScott

"trafficking a perceived girl for fgm"

What ... what does she think fgm is?

Well quite- she either doesn't understand what "trafficking" means or what "fgm" means.
Sexnotgender · 25/03/2021 20:00

@Sophoclesthefox

Good lord above, “a perceived girl”? “Trafficked for FGM”?

Has she thought about what she’s saying at all?

No. She’s a class A arsehole. Honestly beyond disgusting.
MichelleofzeResistance · 25/03/2021 20:23

I wonder how many perceived girls have been 'trafficked' for FGM and turned out not in fact to be possible candidates for it? Angry

How many male born children have been accidentally put forward for FMG? Statistically. Ball park.

AnyOldPrion · 25/03/2021 20:25

I concluded she probably didn’t know any details about either, which is decidedly poor for a female politician

Is anyone else blocked on Twitter by FWS? I am, despite the fact that I only follow and have never actually tweeted, I can only assume I've been added to an automatic block list for following the SNP/Nicola Sturgeon's accounts over there.

It may be nothing to do with who else you follow. If someone who has never tweeted follows me I mostly ignore, but occasionally block on the grounds it’s possible it’s a transactivist monitoring for potential reportable posts. I should imagine that’s more of a problem for FWS.
