Interesting this view. Because, for example lets say the person who posted this is a transbian. Why do they feel the need to seek out 'cis' lesbians? Surely, dating another transbian would be exatly the same, and you wouldn;t have to worry about your partner saying no when they discover a penis? As other transbians would know this was a possibility (or even likely) so you both understand each other and can 'learn to get used to dick, its not the same with a transwoman', as it is so charmingly put to lesbians.

Weird phenomenom really. The insistence that transbians are the exact same as ..female lesbians (AKA..lesbians) yet, the hunt for a 'cis' lesbian continues. Amost as if there is something that sets transbians, and lesbians against each other, like they are not the same thing at all

The standard response that's been mentioned in FWR many times is that if a transbian were to be confronted with a penis, reminding them of their own penis and thus triggering a nasty outbreak of dysphoria, this would justify the transbian being permitted their genital preference. Lesbians though are not permitted to have genital references.

All it requires is for a reader to go "I'm not sure I get this, what exactly is the transphobia here?" and if they do any thinking beyond what the article tells them they could arrive at "Hang on, apparently it's transphobic for a guy not to want to date a transwoman..."

They have reversed the meaning of "phobia" in a way. That should be an irrational fear or hatred of something.

But when accusing someone of "transphobia", the logic is that the person is viewing the trans-women as "less female" and so phobia. But that's nothing like an irrational fear which is what a genuine phobia would be. Rather, it's someone correctly, rationally, making the real distinction that exists. (Of course whether you're attracted to them or not is a technically distinct question; but it's quite correct to view them as "less female".)

Kyle Ross, the teenager who originally posted his vid on TikTok got 2M likes on and has been banned from TikTok. He's started a GoFundme page. Good for him.

I find the references on those quotes to little girls very disturbing.

But you know, feminists are far right aligned apparently and those insisting don’t seem to like to look at who they themselves are aligned with.

And once pointed out, they don’t acknowledge that they have aligned themselves with these people in silencing women’s discussions about upholding women’s rights for all females in the effort to ensure women and girls get the same opportunities as those born male, that we can eliminate sexist discrimination that occurs still today on account of our sexed bodies and keeping women and children safe.

But I would like to hear from those who have used that far-right argument before. Are you happy to align yourself with prominent activists who make statements that are captured in those tweets?

It's lazy thinking, that's what it is. Traditionally it's mainly far right who are bigoted, ergo feminists, who are bigoted, must be far right too. This is especially so in the US.

Yet those quotes just goes to show how much women are, by some in the movement, deserved to be degraded and humiliated. "Getting fucked makes you female because fucked is what a female is." They actually say/write that and wonder why we are fighting so hard for our rights and spaces. It's sickening.

To your question "Where does that leave the lesbians?", here's the answer: when I came out 25 years ago, Brighton's lesbian bars and nights welcomed me with open arms and I found friends and potential partners. The fun we had. Today? I can't think of one lesbian bar in town. The trans flag is everywhere and it's very clear that if you don't sing the TWAW mantra, you are very unwelcome. I went to one lesbian live music event in 2019 and the main act was a TW. I'm very thankful that I am in a loving long-term relationship and too knackered most of the time to want to go out, but I feel for young lesbians who will never know the joy of a bar or a club packed with women.

Genderrebel I’m really sorry to hear this. It’s a familiar story these days, isn’t it? Not a lesbian myself but I hear this over and over again, from friends who are lesbians, and online. I used to go to women’s nights/clubs back in the 80’s and it was so amazing being free of the male gaze in a public place, even without the possibility of finding partners, even without needing a space apart from the rest of the world where my sexuality was the norm. The loss of these places is sad for all women, but for lesbians it’s a monumental loss. It really is lesbian erasure. And the cruellest thing is that it has been perpetrated by the community you created and nurtured.

I hope that the tide will turn soon and that “superlesbians” (aka lesbians) will create a new community that is actually yours once again. I hear there is already a growing “underground” network, but there need to be resources that are public and open - to lesbians and bi women.

And I hope we will likewise see a resurgence of actual women-only spaces and initiatives of all kinds. I think maybe there will need to be a test case around this too - I would like to have it established as a human right for women to have strictly biologically female only spaces/provisions as a means of redressing our disadvantage, in the same way other disadvantaged groups should likewise be able to. Something wider in scope than the current EA exemptions.

Oh and btw...thank you all who appreciated my post from the other night, it always means a lot to know I’ve struck a chord. I raise a glass to you all

They don't want to date each other because it's insufficiently validating for them.

So yeah, they definitely know there is a difference BUT they can't admit to it because internalised trasnphobia and also they'd have to acknowledge biological essentialism which isn't what they do - AND they'd have to acknowledge that they're still effectively heterosexual, not homosexual, which they can't do.

Bit stuck really, aren't they.

I've got one of those bolshy 16yo boy thingies.

He's very much on board with the original Tiktok-er - says he sounds like a bit of a gobshite (ironic coming from ds who is a definite gold medalist in that respect), but that he made a fair point.
