The useful Bunbury Guide to Spotting Community Disruptors is constantly evolving.

The best research and advice is not to engage with community disruptors and trolls. As ever, if you suspect troll activity, report it to MNHQ.

This is a continuation of the Public Service Announcement thread:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/a4164702-Bunbury-s-Eighth-Sealion-training-for-beginners?msgid=105201850#105201850

If and when you see threads plopped into FWR, especially a curious repeat of well worn topics, maybe check for poster history before engaging. AS is your friend.

There are a number of posts/posters/threads that are reproduced on Twitter or Facebook to foment controversy using screen shots & flagging to either MNHQ to have threads or posters deleted.. Sometimes, it’s used to approach commissioning editors with ideas for articles. It’s a tiresome tactic that we always have community disruptor posters who themselves post the comments that they then highlight elsewhere as purported evidence of racism, religious intolerance, anti-men sentiments, or transphobia.

This thread will be taking a leisurely stroll through the foothills of community disruption, noting the behaviour of wildlife and interesting flora and fauna en route.

I'm always baffled as to why bramble is brown. Surely it should be red/purple! But then I love loden but couldn't tell you whether it was brown or green.

Helleofabore · 11/03/2021 14:31

I am needing a walk in the hills today. It seems some posters really do get to push the boundaries of civility and accusation that others don't...

I am sure that the brambles are as dark as my optimism at the moment.

MichelleofzeResistance · 11/03/2021 14:34

This seems highly MNetter relevant.

Very true Michelle.

I’ve wondered whether that’s because there are organised reporting campaigns (by TRAs?) whereas I know I tend to let posts stand, so people can see the nasty posts. And I believe in discussion and free speech.

I think this happens on Twitter also. Mass reporting of feminists- but as we feminists are committed to free speech and discussion, we don’t mass report offensive or nasty stuff by TRAs or SJW

Hi can i join in ?

This is the first Bunbury thread I have read and I was just wondering if there is a specific guidebook I should be reading as I got myself in a spot of bother last week and can't really work out why?

On another note thanks to this thread i've just been to Co-op and am about to sample Cadbury's dark chocolate almond bar.

I'm a fan of Dunlop wellies for walking and am partial to cherries, I also like crochet not knitting (for full transparency).

PotholeParadies · 11/03/2021 17:03

Welcome!

I love the speed of crochet, but I get the different stitches mixed up.

Just to check you're the Right Sort of Feminist, what is your opinion on Weetabix with baked beans on?

lifeturnsonadime · 11/03/2021 17:13

That feels like a trick question Pot, everyone KNOWS that baked beans are the work of the devil!

However spaghetti hoops have the right amount of sugar to complement weetabix nicely I should think.

lifeturnsonadime · 11/03/2021 17:13

Did I pass?

Helleofabore · 11/03/2021 17:13

MeltsAway

Apparently Melts, it helps if you are seen to be coping for yourself.

PotholeParadies · 11/03/2021 17:19

You pass!

lifeturnsonadime · 11/03/2021 17:23

@PotholeParadies

You pass!
Hallelujah!
highame · 11/03/2021 17:23

I don't pass because I love the occasional spoonful of cold baked beans

MichelleofzeResistance · 11/03/2021 17:32

Now you see that really should be worth a strike in itself.

However I love your wellies so obviously shan't hit report, it wouldn't be in the spirit. Gin This of course being the spirit.

Has anyone got a good recipe for making properly tart cherry jam for bakewells?

PotholeParadies · 11/03/2021 17:38

I've always liked cold baked beans in sandwiches.

lifeturnsonadime · 11/03/2021 17:42

unfortunately not Michelle but on a similar note does anyone have a good Blackforest Gateaux recipe? or can anyone recommend a good shop bought one?

This thread is not good for the waistline but maybe the hiking will even things out.

My dad loves cold bean sandwiches! Often offers me one excitedly when I visit 🤢 Erm, no ta.
lifeturnsonadime · 11/03/2021 18:42

Ahh I'm feeling heart warmed. My 81 year old MIL has just phoned to say she's posted me a cheque for £10 to donate £5 each to the ONS and Allison Bailey fundraisers because she's too scared to pay online or to internet bank so I'm to do it on her behalf!

I sent her the links yesterday, she had no idea any of this was going on.

First half was pure politician’s answer (so clever!) but you came unstuck by not hating on weetabix in your second paragraph. So close... 😆
persistentwoman · 11/03/2021 19:29

Cold baked bean sandwiches? Really?
May well report this whole thread for being unspeakably offensive Angry Grin

PotholeParadies · 11/03/2021 19:48

Use plenty of marge. Really good with Asda tiger bread!

TheChampagneGalop · 11/03/2021 20:02

Anime twitter tourists have arrived. Yawn.
