I've been reading a convo on Twitter where several people are claiming - including a woman - that women watch porn as well as men. My first reaction is, this isn't true. Sure, I've watched it from time to time, usually in the company of men, but it's so boring, so divorced from real sex/real bodies, that I'd almost rather do anything else.

Am I wrong? I realise I'm asking a group of women who are probably going to have a more cynical view of pornography, but I'm having a hard time believing women have a porn habit even remotely comparable to men's.

Mind you, the same applies to the "women read 50 shades and so its massive double standards to complain about porn" line

You can if you are friends in real life with the person involved who has created the content (of themselves - no one else) for you -that's one possible way to know.

It's offensive to me that someone who is involved with safeguarding vulnerable people would support an industry that harms people on a massive scale.

Honestly reading this thread - I have no idea what types of porn you guys have been exposed to but they sound fucking horrific. I guess I'm lucky to not have come across such disturbing content!

I find it such a turn on to not know whether she is over 18, whether she has consented, whether she's been trafficked, if she's doing it to fund a drug habit or keep her pimp from beating or killing her, not doing knowing if her injuries are serious and if she'll receive proper treatment for them, and if she wishes she was dead instead.

It's almost nostalgia tinged to see what happened to this thread. Like the old days. FTR O'm not into male content either BUT my primary focus is what happens to women and children and that is why I focus on that after all it does make up the vast majority of porn. So take that feeble argument off with you. (Not you TonightMatthew of course - I was just agreeing with you) but those arguing in extremely bad faith. Out of interest, do some people have alerts for threads like these? This subject and prostitution always brings out a certain type of response and they always have the most convincing anecdotal evidence of 'this one girl I know...'

No, not necessarily. I wouldn't consider sexting to be 'porn' in the commercial porn industry sense. However when you refer to it as 'content' I'm not sure. If it's sexting then it's not really relevant to this thread is it?

Since it is written down I doubt you need me to repeat. For clarity though I think you are being very economical with the truth. Pornhub (trafficking Hub) is the most popular porn site and the very first page brings up extremely questionable content and titles. Oh I thought the 'content' was made for you. So it is porn, and is problematic. Even if it's something like OnlyFans it's still contributing to an industry that causes irreparable damage to many people.
