She's one of the very few politicians at the moment who could make a First Minister or Prime Minister of whom we'd actually be proud.

Greenevalley · 01/02/2021 15:46

A party led by a woman bowing to men.

ChattyLion · 01/02/2021 16:08

They’ve done what?!Sad
Joanna Cherry is an absolutely brilliant, principled politician in what looks like an absolute ship of misogynistic SNP fools.
Bastards.

GrinitchSpinach · 01/02/2021 16:17

(Sorry; that didn’t show up how I wanted. Was meant to be “This aggression will not stand, man!”)

LizzieSiddal · 01/02/2021 16:19

Oh gosh the first time I knew of Joanna was when she was talking to the Twitter person, re misogyny, during a Commons committee meeting. I couldn’t take my eyes off her- such an intelligent woman. They obviously don’t want women like that in the SNP!

Viviennemary · 01/02/2021 16:19

She isn't sacked at all. She still has a job. Which is more than a lot of people have at this difficult time. Talk about drama!

ArabellaScott · 01/02/2021 16:22

Och, I know, women are just so hysterical and over the top, aren't they?

She’s been sacked from their front bench. Bloody scandalous.
Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 01/02/2021 16:27

Well, when a intelligent woman gets cancelled in this way you realise how bad it is.

What is SNP getting out of this? Perhaps there be a brown envelope somewhere.

I can’t believe NS is doing this because she actually thinks this way, you know, alienating working class women so we don’t vote for SNP.

PhoebeSnow · 01/02/2021 16:30

For fucks sake!!!
Bastards
How can we show her our support?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/02/2021 16:35

Joan McAlpine wasn't sacked, well, not yet.

It looks like they're trying to manoeuvre her out in a different way.

Yes, people are losing jobs, but this is a blow against freedom of speech! Have a fucking biscuit if you can’t see that!

Going all out with that stonewall mismatch flag on facebook today too.

Triphazards · 01/02/2021 16:51

News outlets are using sacked, as well as “sacked” in inverted commas, plus dropped, fired and replaced. Joanna used sacked in her tweet.

Of course it won't be enough. Sturgeon has yet to learn it will never be enough. Not even if she became their puppet.

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 01/02/2021 17:01

Bit coming up on R4 imminent... radio may fly out of the window...

pepperminttaste · 01/02/2021 17:05

Awful, awful move. What a kick in the teeth! I'm so angry , I don't have words right now.

RaidersoftheLostAardvark · 01/02/2021 17:06

Genuinely, is there any party in Scottish politics interested in women's rights other than Conservative? I don't like anything Tory but I will vote for them to protect my sex based rights (and have written to my MSP saying so)

stumbledin · 01/02/2021 17:08

Mainstream news it is saying it is all about being an ally of Alex Salmond!

Oldmummybear · 01/02/2021 17:09

Apparently LOJ did a nasty little tweet about it, which he has already deleted

PurpleWh1teGreen · 01/02/2021 17:13

Think this one comes under shocked (very) but not surprised.

NS must be very, very worried.
