Dear Owen Jones, we are not frightened of transgender people, we are frightened of men.

There you go, fixed that for you.

@WichBitchHarpyTerfThatsMe

I now have an image in my head of Tinsel hurtling across a swimming pool full of trifle.
There's people who would pay good money to watch that.
WichBitchHarpyTerfThatsMe · 26/01/2021 16:05

I'm sure there are Tinsel!

Would you have to purchase a trifle-proof swimming costume I wonder? Oh god, it's just occurred to me that there are probably certain people out there for whom such an activity is a turn on and as such 'specialist' suppliers - boak!

HecatesCats · 26/01/2021 17:32

OJ is a professional provocateur. It's his enablers that are the problem and the credulous fanboys who absorb his mantras without question. He's another one who should've been told no more often.

I think TRAs believe women should all behave like Jill Baxter in It's A Sin, the epitome of kindness and self-sacrifice, with no needs of her own to speak of. Women should be of endless service to men and pleasant with it. Smile ladies.

His latest tweet is clearly emboldened by Jill's accusation against Mrs Tozer in the final episode. The irony being that Mrs Tozer is precisely the sort of parent who might trans their kid nowadays because she couldn't cope with her son being gay. It can't be true! Who needs denial when you can fix them with transition. There are plenty of real life examples of this. Dig out a certain famous Ted Talk.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/01/2021 17:38

Actually, let me add:

Dear Owen.
I'm not frightened of you either.
I know you're not interested in my sex.
But I choose to have intimate boundaries against your sex.
I choose not to be naked in a publicly shared changing room with you.
Or anyone of your sex.
I also choose not to compete in sports against you.
Or anyone of your sex.
I choose not to have intimate medical exams by you.
Or anyone of your sex.
And I reject the idea that a woman's political position or women's rights can properly by represented by you.
Or anyone of your sex.

This isn't fear, hatred or intolerance.
This is what it looks like when women say no to men and stand our ground.

Do adjust, dear.
There's an awful lot more to come.

Barracker Thanks 👏 Wine

It's not you, War. He is coming off as a bit unhinged, tbh. Lockdown's doing funny things to lots of people.

I agree.

oh and I've set this so only people who follow me can reply because, although anti-trans activists have made a conscious decision to relentlessly and obsessively target me, and I can live with that, I don't want trans people to have to sift through their bile.

Translation: I'm a shit-stirring, immature, petulant, intellectually bankrupt coward.

I like this Twitter thread from Jane Clare Jones where she talks (among other things) about how Jill's own story and sexuality are underdeveloped, and about how likewise in real life some men just don't seem to be able to handle it when women express their own needs and desires, especially if they conflict with their own.

I'm horrified no-one has mentioned the best type of custard - a cold solidified slab on top of a trifle.

Bigots.

Can someone drop me some more hints as I have NO IDEA what 'SawYouLastTuesday' means?

dyslek · 26/01/2021 19:47

Cuntysnark: I can confirm you can’t run across slurry. Too outing to explain but it’s true.

Are you really going to leave us hanging like that?

Ive pmed you

dyslek · 26/01/2021 19:52

As for LOJ, I really cant be arsed.

At this point basically he is just someone who gets attention by trolling people with a lot less social power than him; Frankie Boyle without jokes if you will.

This thread has been his most interesting cultural contribution since he wrote that book explaining to his dinner party set that class predjuice is a bit off, and this thread was written by us.

dyslek · 26/01/2021 19:56

ThanksSmile

So we cant say that word? in any context? what if someone starts a thread about 'my life in Scientology'?

ArabellaScott · 26/01/2021 19:57

Sorry, not meaning to be obtuse. Just also trying to avoid forbidden words. I suspect we can describe some things as cults, but not others. I would also hazard that any group so zealous about silencing the mere suggestion of a Saw You Last Tuesday is quite likely not one with a very healthy group dynamic.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 26/01/2021 19:58

Theres a beauty buyers website thats fucked if we can’t ever say it

Maybe i should tell the Style and Beauty board 🤔

ArabellaScott · 26/01/2021 19:58

dyslek, as I understand it it's only certain specific groups we are not permitted to question the dynamics of. You can probably guess which ones.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 26/01/2021 19:59

what if someone starts a thread about 'my life in Scientology'?

I once went to one of their meetings...you know when they stop you in the street and ask leading questions

Got a book and everything..l

dyslek · 26/01/2021 20:06

The place in Tottenham Crt Rd? that was a bit risky, not sure Id have the guts to go in. Id worry they wont let you out again till you agreed to marry TomCruse. [shudders]

GrandmaMazur · 26/01/2021 20:07

Wow, my earlier message was deleted quickly. The watchers must be busy today

dyslek · 26/01/2021 20:08

My mum and dad were sort of hippies and had friends who were in to the Bagwan, the orange people we used to call them.

I still have some unpleasent memories of an afternoon spent at one of their 'meditation' sessions [shudders even more]

Nomnomarrgh · 26/01/2021 20:44

Happy memories of when I tried to look up sects and cults in the library. Why did I not ask a librarian?

TyroTerf · 26/01/2021 21:29

Would you have to purchase a trifle-proof swimming costume I wonder?

Make it a sparkly leotard and I would pay well into double figures to see Tinsel's Trifle Trials. It'd be one of those experiences that make you smile when you're on your deathbed.
