Women are now 'non', no longer a word to describe us

Shocking journalism from The Guardian.

MichelleScarn · 23/01/2021 22:29

MiladyBerserko · 23/01/2021 22:33

The Guardian has totally lost it.

I bought it since I was 18. Fucking bastards. Women are worth fucking nothing to them, not even worth of of a fucking name, we are 'nons'. Piss off.

Female transwomen?
Who, exactly, is that referring to? I can’t make sense of it.

Female = female
Transwomen = natal men who identify as women

So female natal men who identify as women....?

EarthSight · 23/01/2021 22:58

They pissed me off years ago when they reported quite slowly Cologne, and then when they did, there were two opinion pieces that was basically 'Yeah we know it's really just awful......BUT'

That BUT told me that women's issues and safety will always be an afterthought for them because they are so terrified that something will be seen as racist or not pushing multi-culturalism. If that many gay men was assaulted that that, there is no bloody way there would have been a BUT in those pieces. Not a chance. They wouldn't have dared.

Can you imagine it?? 'Yeah well it's really awful that all these gay men were sexually assaulted but we've got to be really sensitive here and mind there are different cultures out there, blah blah'. No chance.

EarthSight · 23/01/2021 23:01

Typos. I know there difference between 'was' and 'were', and what the hell was 'that that'???

My kingdom for an edit button!!!!

tenlittlecygnets · 23/01/2021 23:14

I know. Horrible article, shit journalism. Do they care about women at all??!

lockdownshmockdown · 23/01/2021 23:27

This is unbelievable! 😧 Jesus the lengths they will go to to twist language into meaningless gibberish.

lanadelgrey · 24/01/2021 00:17

I know, I know but as per various pieces on the bbc - email and complain to them

Apollo440 · 24/01/2021 00:35

How to turn your readers into implacable enemies.
I will never give the Guardian a penny ever again. And I will celebrate the day they go bust.

NotTerfNorCis · 24/01/2021 00:40

The Guardian might have suppressed comments on their site, but it's been well and truly 'ratioed' on Twitter.

I've just been looking at that piece. I wondered if the picture editor was rather subtly taking a position against the thrust of the piece - the choice of using an image that has 1st and 2nd place going to the trans athletes, and the caption, "transgender athlete Terry Miller, second from left, wins the final of the 55-meter dash over transgender athlete Andraya Yearwood, far left", rather emphasises what those campaigning for single-sex sports find unfair.

ErrolTheDragon · 24/01/2021 00:59

Among the many comments, this one says a lot:
If all the benefits of a policy and none of the harms accrue to the male sex, while all of the harms and none of the benefits accrue to the female sex, it's almost certainly a sexist policy.

EdgeOfACoin · 24/01/2021 08:26

There are some people who post on these boards who think the feminists here overreact to the issues raised by trans ideology.

Out of curiosity, what do these posters think about the use of 'non-transgender girls' in a mainstream British newspaper? Is this development of language something (a) to be welcomed, (b) to be ignored or (c) to be fought?

If (a) or (b) I am interested in knowing your reasons.

Clymene · 24/01/2021 08:38

Yes that photo shows two people with clearly male physiques beating people with clearly female physiques.

Did they ask the girls about their mental health? I don't suppose that was considered important

UppityPuppity · 24/01/2021 08:48

*Did they ask the girls about their mental health? I don't suppose that was considered important

Don’t be silly, according to the G

  • there are male girls designed to be sporting champions
  • there are female girls who were once were designed to be sporting champions are just support beings.

I just can't get my head around it. Do female transwomen have a penis?

I think in the world where words have no meaning, they have a female penis.

@Lordamighty

The Guardian have airbrushed that photo.
I've seen that photo before but I'm not sure that hasn't been doctored.

I would like to know the source of that picture before accepting it as the original image.

ApplesinmyPocket · 24/01/2021 09:15

"The two transgender runners at the center of that case said in court filings that being able to run against girls was central to their wellbeing."

And the 'wellbeing' of the girls who would prefer not to run against fit young males doesn't matter at all. Angry

It's just breathtaking that people go along with this and don't think there's anything wrong with it. Only people who literally don't care about girls could possibly think this is OK.

"But the two transgender runners at the center of that case said in court filings that being able to run against girls was central to their wellbeing."

This is a bizarre paragraph. In what way can it be considered central to their wellbeing? What about the girls' wellbeing? Why is it a good thing for someone's wellbeing to involve trampling over others?

MumUndone · 24/01/2021 09:24

How is it that people think this is ok? Is it that people just don't care, that they're not personally affected? Or is there simply not enough awareness of the issue? I mean, come on. Just because some 'feels' like a female they can compete against biological females and that's ok? Really? And transwomen are so much more important that biological women that now biological women are to be known as 'non transwomen'?? Madness. Just, sigh.
