I love being on HRT so much, but being happy about it is just making me cry more" says Green Party Women's leader

The new chair of Green Party Women, a transwoman going under the name of Kathryn Bristow, one of whose personal pronouns is `fae' (no me neither), is really thrilled at the effects of her HRT (that's where it all is! No shortage for some!) recently tweeted:

twitter.com/KathrynBristow/status/1343259759701618688?s=20

"Just started crying for no particular reason.
It's so wonderful, I've always just wanted to be able to feel my emotions. I love being on HRT so much, but being happy about it is just making me cry more".

The casual and offensive sexist stereotyping is off the scale of course.

A quick glance through her tweets shows absolutely zero interest in er, Green stuff. No tweets about climate change, animal welfare, recycling... anything remotely environmental at all.

I know the Green Party's innate misogyny is nothing new here but I had to vent. They are going from bad to worse. The trouble is, those not active on Twitter or social media are not aware of the danger this Party poses.

I'm not even sure if Kathryn is even transitioned?

And why do so many transwomen have an annoying little `cute' smile in their profile pics? It's just annoying.

I used to have a position of responsibility in the Green Party in the noughties and there was none of this rubbish. We were completely consumed with environmental concerns and animal welfare. People used to make fun of us because we were beardy and sandal clad and unworldly but at least we were authentic.

A trans acquaintance of mine went the full on "HRT [sic] makes me cry, it's so liberating emotionally" schtick. On a discussion board full of women professional scientists, software engineers, technical experts - all of us had spent decades fighting our way through a veritable thicket of hideous sexist assumptions about why "lady brains are unsuited for science" and women and their messy emotions in the lab crap. Some of us had even had to fight an (eventually successful) equal pay claim.

I think it's fair to say said person's comment, in the immortal words of David Hume, "fell still-born from the press."

Also claimed to have period-like symptoms due to the cyclical nature of the chosen hormone routine.

(Also, prior to transition, manspained pregnancy to me - while I was pregnant.)

Arsehole.

Yay go green women! Promoting that incredibly female loving charity, Mermaids!

Needmoresleep · 31/12/2020 17:36

They might prioritise an environmental charity?

OneEpisode · 31/12/2020 17:50

I’m assuming that Kat, as an employee of GenderGP is keen to tweet from the LGBTIQA+ account in pursuit of Mermaids, and then retweet from personal account. Mermaids seem almost to be the marketing arm of Gender GP? Whenever I look at one Twitter account Twitter recommends the other so there must be a large overlap.

NeurotreeWenceslas · 31/12/2020 18:17

Very good points.

So main aim of becoming joint leader of Gpw is to promote the unlawful actions of Gender Gp.

🤔

To me, personally, that doesn't reeely say longevity.

@highame

Head tilt is to hide the Adam's apple I wondered why, so thanks for that Smellie He looks like Moss from the IT crowd I bloody knew it - celebrity look alike
No! Moss is adorable!

But he does wear women’s jeans.

ItsLateHumpty · 01/01/2021 01:25

GenderGP is the front for Helen Webberley, the UK GP who has been suspended by the GMC. GenderGP sells puberty blockers and cross sex hormones to youngsters online, operating from Spain.

I thought they actually lived in Spain - apparently I was wrong, they still live in the UK Shock

[quote HecatesCats]Actual GP candidate wants to work to make sure all women who believe in biological sex are ultimately unwelcome in the party - thread here in which she's appeasing an individual who is cross that a woman who believes in biological sex is co-chair of Green Party Women. It's not enough, as the candidate points out, that a transwoman and trans allies now make up most of the committee. They are so lost:

‘We don’t have a magic wand to get rid of t@£fs...’

But also - you don’t have a magic wand to make males into females. You have experimental surgery on healthy bodies and self id.

Abhannmor · 01/01/2021 11:57

Shame really as many people are fed up with Labour and admire Caroline Lucas. Bristow's pitch seems to be - I am self obsessed, emotionally unstable and live in a fantasy world. In the near future I could be part of a Coalition government.

thenightsky · 01/01/2021 12:08

Head tilt is to hide the Adam's apple

It doesn't do much for the receding hairline though.

Cailleach1 · 01/01/2021 13:49

Ah, is that the reason for the head tilt? There is cosmetic surgery which involves shaving the adams apple, isn't there?

NotTerfNorCis · 01/01/2021 13:54

annoying little `cute' smile in their profile pics

I see that a lot. It's the portrayal of women as simple-minded, vulnerable idiots.

Interesting thread on KB's role at Gender GP:

twitter.com/DanialWebb/status/1344573750591844352?s=20

Has the Green Party learned nothing from the Aimee Challenor debacle? A desire for inclusivity blinded them to shocking safeguarding failures. With Kathryn Bristow now elected as co chair of Green Party Women it looks set to make the same errors again 1/

Kathryn Bristow works for GenderGP as a pathway advisor, supporting customers seeking to buy puberty blockers and cross sex hormones. For this service GenderGP charges customers £25 for a 15-minute chat with Kathryn, who has no clinical training whatsoever. 2/

...

persistentwoman · 01/01/2021 18:30

Good grief. Yet more safeguarding 🚩 🚩🚩 🚩 about the Greens. What is it about safeguarding and ethics that they refuse to understand? I would have thought that the Aimee Challenor report would have ensured that they undertake due diligence about those taking on positions of responsibility??

Gurufloof · 01/01/2021 18:37

The announcement that Kathryn Bristow is now co chair of Green Party Women's group appears to be welcomed by some on the FB page, but others seem to be cross that GC women are also making their views known

I went to the link and most posts are about women, it took everything in me to not reply To every single post with "how do we know they are women" or "are you sure they all identify as women"

MichelleofzeResistance · 01/01/2021 19:26

I would have thought that the Aimee Challenor report would have ensured that they undertake due diligence

I think you may be assuming there that they responded with the same concern and sense of responsibility as would be standard for most organisations and bodies who'd just had a massive, massive safeguarding failure.

As I remember, (responses etc can be found on line?) there wasn't much acceptance of responsibility and some mutters that being concerned about such things was in some way phobic.

And directly underneath they have posted a story about a man killing his daughter because she wasn't a boy. So that is a female human child being murdered because she is female.

PotholeParadies · 01/01/2021 20:37

Kathryn Bristow claims to be the first trans chairperson of GPW, but someone on the fb page says Aimee Challenor was a previous chair of GPW.

Hmm.

You're right Michelle. Openly advocating for GenderGP using the Green Party clearly demonstrates how little they care about children and safeguarding. Still - the receipts are all out in the open.

KB was elected with a very small margin, as a result of a fuck-ton of male allies claiming to be women, registering with GPW and unfortunately had to be given a vote.

I know someone whose son is in the GPEW and he was highly amused that there was a call to arms for male trans allies to do this. His vote would have been one of the small margin. There are no dirty tactics they won't employ to push the trans agenda.
None of these 'gender variant' males will have claimed to be anything other than men before this ruse.
Most of the GPEW members are against this. So many of us are just working away in the background on green issues and having to tolerate the gender-gibberish that is being forced upon us by a small but powerful, vicious and deeply misogynistic minority at the leadership and committee level. Thankfully, not all in positions of influence have that agenda and are fighting to keep the GPEW on the track for which it was established. It is hard and wearing work though.
We need support here, not condemnation from all sides. If we had sufficient numbers of members who were aware of the problems and tactics of the other side, and who were willing to stand up and vote, we could break this.

Please support our stance and share the information with as many people as possible, especially those who are GPEW members, the majority of whom remain in blissful ignorance of what is happening in the central GPEW.
