If you are on twitter please report this tweet.

Even better please dig for their crowdfunder to challenge Scottish Government redfining women to include men. They are £18000 carrotts down and it would be a great help to them to have tangible help. Three days to go.

  1. TW are allowed in women's spaces, always have been, and are protected by law (so the law is, actually 'being upheld'). These rights are now under attack, now that you've realised the GRA reforms had nothing to do with "self-id" the way you thought they did.

No. Please don't patronise us, we've discussed this many times on this board. Any trans person without a GRC is legally the sex they were born. There are exemptions possible with both the Equality Act and the Gender Recognition Act. The legal bar is considered higher to be able to exclude them if they do have a GRC hence the GRA does have relevance to women's spaces. This is implicit in the text of the EA concerning sex based exemptions where GRC are specifically referred to. More males with GRC would clearly shift the legal sex category away from being based on actual sex. So that affects women and our spaces too.

Please don't try to spread misinformation here.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/11/2020 13:26

Liz Truss made it very clear that some spaces can legally be female only based on biological sex.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/11/2020 13:29

Also, I'd like your definition of a "TW." Its a very broad umbrella term.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/11/2020 13:34
  1. Doubles down on a grossly unfair generalisation, from a poster that once referred to me unapologetically as "it"

Is this a response to me? This is a bare faced lie, other posters recognised it as one, and Mumsnet rightly deleted your post accusing me of it.

Thanks Empress. I have never called another human being "it" in my life.

nauticant · 21/11/2020 14:01

What you wrote was crystal clear. As was the fact that someone was seeking to twist it out of shape in order to misrepresent you.

ThousandsAreSailing · 21/11/2020 14:03

MadBadDaddy
FFS you are scraping the barrel there in trying to find offence

Winesalot · 21/11/2020 14:04

That screenshot does read as someone referring to 'it' as what has been said rather than a person. And not giving what was said respect rather than not giving the person who said it respect.

TalkingtoLangClegintheDark · 21/11/2020 14:25

@nauticant

What you wrote was crystal clear. As was the fact that someone was seeking to twist it out of shape in order to misrepresent you.
Exactly.

I await MadBadDaddy’s apology to Ereshikgal for the unfounded attempt at a smear.

@Ereshkigalangcleg

Thanks Empress. I have never called another human being "it" in my life.

It’s really odd, the standards some people judge us by, isn’t it?

That’s what’s actually dehumanising, ironically, projecting that kind of stuff onto us and demonising us.

One day we might get seen as full human beings instead of as scapegoats-cum-service-humans.

One day.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 21/11/2020 15:01

Thank you everyone!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 21/11/2020 15:01

That’s what’s actually dehumanising, ironically, projecting that kind of stuff onto us and demonising us.

Yes, exactly.

RedDogsBeg · 21/11/2020 15:29

It'll be tumbleweed waiting for your entirely deserved apology Eresh, that would be the decent thing to do so no way will it be done, no way can that poster admit they were wrong even when it's so blatantly obvious. Also, they would have to acknowledge their poor reading and comprehension skills and their inherent misogynistic hatred of us which is the filter through which they read what we write.

Conciliation for what?

Winesalot · 21/11/2020 15:39

So, you are blaming a regular poster on this board for the effect of the words of Germaine Greer?

On a thread that is about a vile cartoon that depicts a women's rights organisation as the KKK.

hmmmmmm.....

Escapeplanning · 21/11/2020 15:43

My long time friend who has transitioned full time since retirement frequently describes people with whom they socialise and holiday together as, and I quote directly; "T girls", in exactly the same manner as Germaine has there.

SophocIestheFox · 21/11/2020 15:45

You were wrong, and you tried to smear eresh. It was completely clear and was explained to you at the time that you had misunderstood, but you’ve still hung on to it to whip out down the line if she ever posts anywhere near you again. What conciliation is required here, and what on earth does Germaine Greer have to so with the price of eggs? Confused

RedDogsBeg · 21/11/2020 15:46

Winesalot, the cartoon is our fault, Germaine Greer's words are our fault, hell, everything MBD doesn't like or agree with is our fault, neither MBD nor their side are ever, ever, ever at fault, no, no, not at all.

Just pathetic.

334bu · 21/11/2020 15:47

Absolutely appalling smearing of another poster. Please apologize MadBadDaddy.
