I know it’s not even November yet but I’m starting to write Christmas lists early thanks to anticipation of COVID-chaos. I would love to support as many brave feminists as possible with my purchasing power.

So far I have:
The Ickabog/ Strike books by J.K. Rowling
Difficult Women by Helen Lewis
Embroidery patches by Jess de Wahls

Any more suggestions for Christmas gifts that will support the fearless women (or men) who’ve stuck their heads above the parapet?

Any ideas as to where I can source a calendar? The Famous Artist … had sold out. Need one with boxes for family planning (sic)

Found these great suffragette tree decs today after a thread by Sarah Phllmore : www.christmascompany.co.uk/index.php?route=product/search&search=suffragette

Bit of a flippant one from me, but Sainsbury's is selling Xmas dinosaur wrapping paper and tags. Enjoy wrapping up presents for your annoying, woke, JKR hating teens in that.

Love this thread and my new radicals tea towels, thank you.

My modest contribution is this 'on Wednesdays we smash the patriarchy' t-shirt via eBay. Mine never fails to lift my mood.

For a girl, the book "Fearless Girls, Wise Women and Beloved Sisters: Heroines in Folk Tales from Around the World" by Kathleen Ragan is good provides tales from many countries and focuses on women/girls as the main character.

The Radical Notion (edited by Jane Clare Jones) has put out a calendar. theradicalnotion.org/shop/ (scroll to the bottom, and then click along to see the artwork and how the grid is laid out). I don't think it's quite the "family calendar" some have asked for, but of course not all women have families Smile, and the artwork is lovely.

Redshoeblueshoe · 11/12/2021 00:20

I've not done much Christmas shopping yet, but I'm inspired by this thread.
I'm still laughing at a post on about page 1 - so yes DH I'll get you a William Shatner CD.
But now I've got plenty of ideas for books and t-shirts thanks

DoubleTweenQueen · 11/12/2021 09:26

The official term is 'biological realist' or BR.

I'm making myself a beanie for my heretic patch.

These activist packs are great stocking fillers:

filia.org.uk/filia-shop/activist-pack-great-stocking-filler-in-memory-all-the-women-and-girls-sacrificed-to-patriarchy

They also have "Wrong Side of History My Arse" banners & notebooks:

filia.org.uk/filia-shop/wrong-side-of-history-my-arse-courage-calls-to-courage

I'm framing my tea towel & hanging it in my kitchen.
