Well, you generally cannot get an abortion in these states past ‘viability’ unless there is a fetal abnormality and this was the whole point of Roe v Wade. At the very least you’d lose your license to practice as these are illegal! Also, WaPo is paywalled but Alabama cannot have a heartbeat bill, it would (and has been) struck down by the Supreme Court.

I care about gender ideology hurting young people with dysphoria and I care about surrogacy and egg donation, paying attention to women's rights in these areas. That's the main reason I'm here. Check my post history if you want.

We who have lived through this unrest in our American cities are exhausted from people who don't live here making all kinds of assumptions about our lived reality. We know perfect Republicans and the Trump supporters and while some of them are decent people, so many of them are not...their racism, vile hatred of immigrants, ignorance of science and xenophobia have been evident for a long time. The police departments have a lot of corruption and racism within their ranks. Black kids are treats very differently by authorities than white kids here and people have had it.

I hear you...that could sound like "wrong think." There's a lot feminists can work on together even when we disagree on US politics.

How's this instead: I'm a progressive Democrat who is so fucking sick of Trump and his apologists. I vehemently disagree with almost everything his administration has done: from them separating children from their parents at the border to erasing scientific language on government websites to nominating a pro-life religious extremist to the Supreme Court. I don't want people to vote for Trump and I am sick to death of the lies he makes every day. In the states we really have only 2 sides...it's the reality of our system. Not everyone on the left side agrees with each other, but if you are on Trump's "side," you support some pretty egregious shit.

Most people don't like this division, including me. But the one person who most benefits from this discord, it's Trump.

Also, the majority of Americans have never supported Trump, but he won because of our electoral system AND because half of Americans just didn't vote.
