Trans people already have full human rights.
Unfortunately, unlike in the UK, in the US this isn’t the case.
If you’re trans or GNC or gay (or just perceived to be any of these things) you can still be (for example) legally evicted or denied housing on that basis alone in many states.
The recent SCOTUS case suggests this may no longer be true for employment (ground is now shakier if you fire someone for having transitioned with no other justification).
I do think, hopefully, once we can fix the actual uncontroversial issues in law that Trans people face (impossible with Trump) that we can then move to working out the details in the areas where there are conflict of rights with those of women (especially sport and prisons plus other places where women have no control over privacy).
I’m quite hopeful that with dem government there is at least a chance of progress on this with Trump gone. The job of feminists (especially feminist legal scholars’) is to work to make sure it’s done right. Protect trans rights without infringing on women’s.
