[quote Mumof4terrors]For all those of you following this thread - good news! The attorney general has referred this case for sentence review - so all you people who were thinking that there might be mitigating factors (which I still cannot understand) - hopefully Callum Haycock will be thrown in prison and the key thrown away.... (with a bit of luck the judge will get booted out too).

Thank you for the update Mumof4terrors, lots of groups put complaints in and I know a lot of us on this thread did too. I can't find him/the case on the spreadsheet within the link though 😬

MandosHatHair · 02/12/2020 11:30

Thanks for the update mumof4terrors

According to an article the other day, 2/3 of women in prison are there because they didn't pay thier TV license. How the fuck is it right that there are people serving custodial sentences for failure to pay a bill, yet this shithole gets away with a slap on the wrist!?

gardenbird48 · 02/12/2020 11:42

brilliant news mumof4terrors - thanks for the update - good to know that we can have some effect on that level of injustice.

BettyDuKeiraBellisMyShero · 02/12/2020 11:44

I missed this thread at the time. I’m absolutely aghast.

Well done on all who organised for sentence review.

Maybe we could empty some of the women’s prisons of non-licence fee payers and turn whole buildings over to the male estate, make a bit more space for pedos and rapists?

LaBodDelMed · 02/12/2020 11:58

I too missed the original thread and am horrified to read the original sentence, what an absolute travesty. Glad to read the update about the sentencing review, fingers crossed for a positive outcome.

Angryresister · 02/12/2020 12:17

Poor girl, but glad the sentence is to be reviewed.

There is a link to a very long excel spreadsheet and he is ‘CH’ towards the bottom!

Thank you, I'm on my phone that dislikes excel docs and pdfs Hmm

Absolutely shocking. Even if severe learning disabilities he should be on sex offender list for life, and the public protected from him. A secure facility, a 'carer' with him at all times forever especially if he goes out anywhere any time in his life.

Anyone wanting to do something could do worse than to set up a small monthly donation to the Centre For Women's Justice. They're the last line of resistance for women's rights in law, and they do incredible work on almost no money. A fiver a month adds up to sixty quid a year, and if everyone who could, gave a sum they could afford to lose, they'd be infinitely better able to defend us all.

Just signed up to a monthly donation, well worth a fiver a month.

Oxyiz · 05/12/2020 07:59

I also missed this thread and am sitting here in shock that it could have gone through like this. Well done to everyone who pushed for a review. That poor, poor child.

Who is the judge in this case? Anyone know?
