Not sure what to make of this to be honest.

i think what i'm struggling with is that Rosie has said the criticism she's been getting for her beliefs is misogynistic, but then both people who quit her team are women

OP posts:
TheShoesa · 14/10/2020 16:42

Is this the usual standing up for women / stating facts is seen as transphobic? (Haven't read the PN article)

Harmarsuperstar · 14/10/2020 16:42

Her "belief" that only women have cervixes?
It's not so much a belief, as a cold hard verifiable fact.

Not sure why you would struggle with those not especially contradictory things? Confused
wellbehavedwomen · 14/10/2020 16:45

Someone rushing to Pink News, to ensure their mates don't think them responsible for Wrong Think, too, now their employer is suggesting women are human beings? How stunning and brave.

Love the claim to be a radical feminist. I'm sure this person identifies as one... but alas, words have meanings, and centring males is not feminism.

Well, at least this will give Rosie a chance to recruit staff who won't want her punished for wrongthink.

FairFriday · 14/10/2020 16:50

It’s in Pink News... I wouldn’t believe it if they told me it was Wednesday

Of course! And the woman who's just quit claims to be a radical feminist. I find myself awfully dubious about that claim.
CarolJenkyns · 14/10/2020 16:52

@Butterer

Misogyny doesn't always come from men - there's shedloads of us that internalise and help perpetuate it without realising. (From a general perspective, not specifically referring to the RD thing).
yes i know. but one of the woman that quit was a lesbian. feels off to me that Rosie is saying she's only being criticised by woke men when there's a lesbian who was unhappy enough to leave
OP posts:
PurpleHoodie · 14/10/2020 16:56

Lesbian or "lesbian"?

Kit19 · 14/10/2020 16:57

Rosie has been criticised by men & women - misogyny doesn’t have to come from men. I won’t click a penis news headline but I imagine anyone lgbtq working with Rosie has come under intense pressure to conform to Labour lgbtq thinking. As far as they’re concerned you either think TWAW or you’re a horrendous bigot who deserves to get death threats

Lumene · 14/10/2020 16:59

yes i know. but one of the woman that quit was a lesbian.

So? There are LGBT people who have opinions that agree with RD and others who disagree. Not sure what the sexuality of this person has to do with anything?

Also Pink News is the Daily Star of the gay press and doesn’t even sign up to IPSO so I would take anything with that as a source with a serious pinch of salt.

This.

I am aware of a Labour MP who is GC but who has at least one member of staff who isn't, and who conducts all their GC conversations (and exchanges of information) in secret WA groups.

Lots of lesbians, particularly the younger ones, are trans allies. Not all lesbians are feminists and loads of them have been brainwashed by Pride and Stonewall into thinking that they're being kind. It's a tragedy.

persistentwoman · 14/10/2020 17:30

The Labour party is a very frightening place for women who believe in sex based rights and safeguarding children from dodgy groups. I have no doubt that her employees are challenged and threatened viciously as there is no one in charge insisting on any level of civility or safety for women (looking at one Keir Starmer here) - or in fact any one wanting democratic discussion about identity politics

EvenSupposing · 14/10/2020 17:35

but one of the woman that quit was a lesbian. feels off to me that Rosie is saying she's only being criticised by woke men when there's a lesbian who was unhappy enough to leave

Feels off to you? Sure it does.

As we know all lesbians feel exactly the same way about all things which is why it's so difficult to get tickets to a KD Lang gig Hmm

FWRLurker · 14/10/2020 17:45

Idk kind of demonstrates neatly now classist this movement is I think.

Women who understand sex is real are being fired, or staying quiet because they can’t afford to be fired because they need to feed their families.

TWAW People At no risk of firing actively quit their jobs Because their boss said something they didn’t like outside of work, Seemingly they don’t really a Need a job if thats all it takes.

InflamatoryWrit · 14/10/2020 19:39

I admit I am a suspicious character by nature, but I smell faux query here. If OP is trying to undermine RD's character by linking a Prick News article, and to be fair they will say ANYTHING, well I'm not biting.

MerchedCymru · 14/10/2020 20:08

Don't know if Rosie ever lurks on MN among the cervix-havers, but if you are here Rosie, well done for standing up to the bullying. Hope other MPs follow your lead.

AnyOldPrion · 14/10/2020 20:09

The lesbian community is split. There are those, like Mhairi Black who are full on TRA and others who are GC. The latter have been cast out of the community. That’s one of the reasons the LGB Alliance has been set up, alongside grassroots women’s groups. It takes a brave woman to step away from the traditional LGBT group.

And.... that rag hasn’t said much that’s truthful in years. The only reason they still exist is because they were given a handout to campaign against women. I didn’t click on their misogynistic hate speech and I’m not going to.
