Thanks

I am watching the replay on tv.

Thank for starting a new thread for this. However, Blunt needs to help to account for his expectation that backroom lobbying should have been implemented.

He is so over emotive.

FloralBunting · 24/09/2020 11:23

Reposting my response from the other thread;

You got everything that you said was an issue sorted. Cost, accessibility, healthcare. The only thing you didn't get was the end of single sex spaces.

I mean, that was just a long list of MPs, with a few honourable exceptions, complaining that single sex provision is still legal, basically.

Bastards.

I guess he's referring to WHO removing the word disorder from 'ICD-11, gender incongruence'. but where does that leave the affirmation model? the young people who grow up and no longer experience it? the factors causing it? will it be considered in the CASS review? www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-48448804

And I'm really glad they didn't, because these people have proven that they have zero respect for women, our boundaries, privacy, or experiences, and haven't even given the safety of children a second thought.

That they keep ignoring what women have said is disturbing.

Exactly.

And getting rid of gender dysphoria? Because I keep hearing this.

What is the reason for men to transition, in that case?

And what is the reason for adult men, many of whom are fully intact and heterosexual, to demand access to places where women are vulnerable or naked???

Can any of those MPs answer that question?

DeliciouslyFemale · 24/09/2020 11:42

Did they lie about the suicide statistics again or was the research discussed? Was it mentioned that the Samaritans have warned against suicide ideology?

FindTheTruth · 24/09/2020 11:43

It was interesting to see which MPs mentioned women and under 18s and which didn't

Am I right in taking from the comments so far that alot becomes clear now...that it was clearly never about heakthcare ir money..

DeliciouslyFemale · 24/09/2020 11:44

What ‘women’s’ groups were included in the discussions? Was it actually female centric women’s groups or the women kind? This, I feel is very important, as the discussion will be wildly different, depending on the groups.

we don't believe in moving to self ID. we do believe the system needs proper checks and balances

FloralBunting · 24/09/2020 11:51

Truss was very clear that the door was firmly shut about moving to a self ID model. She said it a few times.

I'm still stunned to see a modern parliament expressing dismay that single sex provision is not ending.

100% this.

Escapeplanning · 24/09/2020 11:54

Suicide stats again talked about idiotically.

Blunt gets up and tells us it's now up to half a million trans people affected by the GRA . 2 to 5,000,000 he tells us at the global world expert.

Another MP pops up to tell us 50 percent have attempted suicide.

A quarter of a million suicide attempts? Seriously?

The bulshit continues.

Listening to that does become a repetition of "this must not be a medical issue, we must have more medical treatment."

Okay we hear you. You make no sense.

'Women's organisations'.

There's that word again. Everyone seems to know what it is, but no one is prepared to say so.

Escapeplanning · 24/09/2020 11:56

Woops, too many zeros.

200,000 to 500,000

Covid.

But it did leave Liz Truss on her own to deal with these questions apart from a couple. She did really well.

Winesalot · 24/09/2020 12:05

I feel satisfied that Liz Truss’ team is clear about the EA single sex provisions but I feel less confident that anything will be done until the judicial reviews go through. And then the appeals or whatever. It is incredible that the act was allowed to be so misinterpreted and supported by govt organisations in the first place.

It also feels that many of those expressing concerns about not moving to self Id were uninformed and ‘well meaning’. And totally living the dissonance that women’s rights would not be impacted. Or they didn’t care.
