Sorry might not know who Posie is but there has been nearly 6 thousand views on that video already.

I'm interested in where this police force got it's definition of 'political protest' from.

Mammatino · 20/09/2020 14:55

I’m just glad she’s speaking on this particular issue. They should have just let them get on with it and it wouldn’t have got a tenth of the attention it has. Whatever you think of her she’s very very good at getting her message out there.

MillyMollyFarmer · 20/09/2020 14:55

Prostitution I can get behind - absolutely.

I can’t. I don’t think we should buy and sell peoples bodies for sex and I find it disgusting you do

BatShite · 20/09/2020 14:55

@SorryImKnew

Well she doesn't speak for me. I'm a woman. I have no issue with transwomen or transmen for that matter. I know this board is obsessed with it though for some unknown reason. I'm entitled to not agree with her or anything else or is this intended to be an echo chamber?
This is such a common post. People disagreeing with you is not anyone wanting an echochamber. Almost seems that these kind of posters want to be able to just say their piece, then everyone ignore it..because answering is attacking or wanting to silence Hmm If this was the case, the entire point of forums and such is moot surely. Whole point is conversation.

Mind I do know how it feels to be in a minority opinion on here, after a AIBU post a while back. It did kind of feel like an attack util I chilled out and realised it was not attacking, it was just people disagreeing.

ZarasHouse · 20/09/2020 14:55

I would probably write it...

She spelled it out.
But it was not spelt correctly.

Am I wrong?

Pertella · 20/09/2020 14:56

So many people say they arrive here accidentally and don't realise its not actually obligatory to stay, much less comment 🤔

Mmn654123 · 20/09/2020 14:56

@SorryImKnew

I don't believe in her transphobia no. Prostitution I can get behind - absolutely. But she needs to take one issue at a time, and I think the transphobic element might put normal women off.
You don’t believe in it? Like Father Christmas?

Or do you mean you don’t agree with it? Do try to use the correct words dear.

queenofknives · 20/09/2020 14:56

I don't know who Kellie-Jay is but she's irrelevant but actually I do know exactly who she is even though I've never heard of her and she's irrelevant even though everyone knows who she is and she's a transphobe who intimidates people but actually I've never heard of her and only people on this board have heard of her except for me I've heard of her but when I googled her I only got 500 pages of results so she's irrelevant also no one cares about women's rights except Kellie-Jay who no-one's heard of and anyone who has heard of her has a chip on their shoulder except me as I've heard of her but only by accident as she's so irrelevant...

is basically what you 'new posters' sound like. Everyone is entitled to opinion and discussion but this is really sad.

queenofknives that was so funny Grin

SapphosRock · 20/09/2020 14:57

What an idiot. Can't really see what she's trying to achieve but it doesn't appear she's achieved it.

Either the police have to back down and say that her gathering was political or National Rail have to reinstate the I Love JK Rowling poster.

AH, I never looked at it that way..

MillyMollyFarmer · 20/09/2020 14:58

She’s not an idiot. Not remotely. How rude.

FlamingoAndJohn · 20/09/2020 14:58

Whether you know who she is or agree with her views or not I find it extremely worrying that the police can arrest someone protesting because they don’t believe it to be political. Why do they get to judge? I’d say it’s more political that the ‘save our children’ batshit conspiracy theory protests that have been allowed to stand.

If this was a group of similar size protesting for trans rights I would feel equally worried that the police get to make that value judgment.

MyDogSmells · 20/09/2020 14:59

@SapphosRock

What an idiot. Can't really see what she's trying to achieve but it doesn't appear she's achieved it.

She's trying to get people talking about it so.....

Mmn654123 · 20/09/2020 14:59

@SorryImKnew

Is Adrian the man in the first clip you've posted? The guy who I have to say won the argument with his quip of 'It's Dr.' actually when she insisted on being called 'Mrs'. That's not particularly feminist is it? Wanting your status as a wife to be noted?
Lol! Interesting interpretation. He looked like an imbecile and lots of people who didn’t know him were astonished he was a doctor - because he sounded too stupid to get through medical school!
GiantKitten · 20/09/2020 14:59

@ItsAllGoingToBeFine

It's really good to see that Posie is obviously getting the message out, given all of these new posters! Welcome all Smile

I've attached an excellent picture from the protest (police arresting a woman wearing a t-shirt that says "thought criminal").

That is a brilliant image, thanks, @ItsAllGoingToBeFine Smile
MillyMollyFarmer · 20/09/2020 15:00

Yup, they shouldn’t be telling women their protests aren’t political. It’s not for them to decide women’s rights don’t meet the criteria. It’s a protest about law changes ffs

Not my image, I hasten to add. It's from twitter

littlbrowndog · 20/09/2020 15:02

it’s a political protest about the way women’s rights are being rolled back

GiantKitten · 20/09/2020 15:02

Ah.
Here’s one clear source of newcomers Grin

CaraDuneRedux · 20/09/2020 15:03

It's an odd coincidence, but I was listening to Jenni Murray's "A History of Britain in 21 Women" while I made Sunday lunch - and I'd got to the chapter on Emmeline Pankhurst, and the arguments over whether the Sufragettes should be imprisoned in tier 2 prisons for ordinary criminals or tier 1 prisons for political prisoners (which were a thing back then!) The Suffragettes were pretty much always classed as ordinary criminals, which if you think about it, is in and of itself a political statement by the ruling classes and the judiciary.

Over a hundred years later and "plus ca change."

BatShite · 20/09/2020 15:05

That image is great. Hopefully if there is mainstream attention, they use that one. Really gets the point across.
