@SorryImKnew

It's entertaining stuff I have to say. For the cringe factor.
At least you're self aware.
OvaHere · 20/09/2020 14:47

Amazing how many people who have no idea who Posie is have found this thread and want to point out just how much what she does doesn't matter to anyone. Grin

LastRoloIsMine · 20/09/2020 14:48

One without a massive big chip on their shoulder about transwomen! Most women I know (correction - every woman I know) couldn't give two hoots about transwomen! The only place I've ever seen it discussed with vigour and glee and venom is on the Feminism Chat part of MN. Nobody in real life has ever mentioned it.

Thats not a sign of normal is it.

Every woman I know cares greatly about the erosion of womens rights and how that is being led by the trans rights movement. So based on hour logic the women I know are normal an you znd your women friends are not.

I am so sorry you and your friends are too ignorant to care about womens rights.

Kazakaren · 20/09/2020 14:48

Yes it’s almost like the poster knows about her campaigning and what she does despite pretending she’s irrelevant. How interesting.

They're howling in the wind. No one is listening any more. It's over. Thanks to British women (and men) who know what a woman is.

SorryImKnew · 20/09/2020 14:48

Well she doesn't speak for me. I'm a woman. I have no issue with transwomen or transmen for that matter. I know this board is obsessed with it though for some unknown reason. I'm entitled to not agree with her or anything else or is this intended to be an echo chamber?

Stripesgalore · 20/09/2020 14:48

Batshite, I would assume 99.9% of internet users could google search more precisely. I put in Kelly Jay women’s rights and got loads of relevant results.

Maybe people need classes on how to use the internet.

FlamingoAndJohn · 20/09/2020 14:49

@SmudgeButt

Def a problem with spelling - my search came up with the lead of a Canadian rock band.

And it's "spelled" not "spelt". spelt is a grain. ; )

Either spelled or spelt is acceptable in British English. See also learned and learnt, and smelled and smelt.
Mmn654123 · 20/09/2020 14:49

@SorryImKnew

The smallest protest I've ever seen and she happily says that all women (plural) care about her and her campaign?

Can she not see that there is literally no support for her apart from a handful (14 I think?). In a whole city? What is the population of Leeds?

Dear oh dear. I'd be embarrassed to be there.

What makes you think the intention was to create a large gathering? A large gathering was not required to make the precise point she is successfully making.
KittyValentine · 20/09/2020 14:49

@SorryImKnew

It’s ‘New’ not ‘Knew’!

queenofknives · 20/09/2020 14:49

@SorryImKnew

You may have missed my question earlier but what is a normal woman? You posted that earlier and I want to check to see if I am normal or not.
I bet every woman you know rolls their eyes whenever they see you coming and quickly changes the subject. Clearly no one is going to want to have an open conversation with someone who describes women as venomous.

FWIW no one I know has a chip on their shoulder about TW. But almost everyone I know cares about women's rights.

Stripesgalore · 20/09/2020 14:50

‘I'm entitled to not agree with her or anything else or is this intended to be an echo chamber?‘

Nobody is saying you’re not entitled to an opinion. Anyone would think you’re the one who just get arrested...

BeyondsConstantBangingHeadache · 20/09/2020 14:50

Bloody google. Again.

It's really good to see that Posie is obviously getting the message out, given all of these new posters! Welcome all Smile

I've attached an excellent picture from the protest (police arresting a woman wearing a t-shirt that says "thought criminal").

That photo should be put on a T-shirt!

BatShite · 20/09/2020 14:51

Every woman I know cares greatly about the erosion of womens rights and how that is being led by the trans rights movement

Been my experience too. Having said that, I agree that 'having a chip on their shoulder about transwomen' is indeed quite rare. Because most come at this from a womens rights angle, not anything else. Though, of course to transactivist types, caring about womens rights at all is deeply transphobic, this has been admitted a few times, and is clear from whenever the word woman is said, or any discussion of things to help wmen, the 'transphobiaaaaaaa!' wails start. So it seems, to trasactivists, womens rights are transphobic in themselves.

Kazakaren · 20/09/2020 14:51

Sour grapes is what it is.

MillyMollyFarmer · 20/09/2020 14:52

I know this board is obsessed with it though for some unknown reason

The reasons, plural, have been spelt out and explained in detail here and elsewhere many many times. Primarily the issue is about maintaining existing rights for women to single sex spaces and to uphold child safeguarding, as regardless of someone’s gender identity they should be treated like everyone else for safeguarding purposes.

Every woman I know, from my daughter to my elderly mother living in a different country to me, cares about these issues. Every. Single. One.

heathspeedwell · 20/09/2020 14:52

Posie has such a genius for PR stunts, and this is superb.

Either the police have to back down and say that her gathering was political or National Rail have to reinstate the I Love JK Rowling poster.

I hope this gets the national media coverage it deserves, she's wonderful when she's on tv.

BatShite · 20/09/2020 14:52

Well yes this is true. Also those claiming to not know who she is suddenly know a lot about her. But..in theory they are correct that she doesn't come up when searching that.

I was interested to see this thread on Trending (which might explain all the sparky comments on it). Didn't FWR get hidden from the a while back? (I may be far behind the times here.)

Mmn654123 · 20/09/2020 14:53

@SorryImKnew

Is it a political organisation though?
Yes.

It has pre-defined aims detailed on a public website, which is as a lobbying/protest group to influence proposed changes in the law and to protect existing laws. It’s the very definition of a political organisation.

Question is, who in the police decided it wasn’t....!

Stripesgalore · 20/09/2020 14:53

That image is going to be on every possible kind of protest memorabilia in fifty years time.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 20/09/2020 14:53

I don't believe in her transphobia no. Prostitution I can get behind - absolutely. But she needs to take one issue at a time, and I think the transphobic element might put normal women off.

And how do you define 'normal women'?

Kazakaren · 20/09/2020 14:54

Well she doesn't speak for me. I'm a woman. I have no issue with transwomen or transmen for that matter. I know this board is obsessed with it though for some unknown reason. I'm entitled to not agree with her or anything else or is this intended to be an echo chamber?

Doesn't matter whether she speaks for you or not. The law speaks for women. Even ones that want to errode other women's rights. The law says no. Or didn't you hear the news yet.
