100%. You don't have to agree with everything Posie has ever said, you could even disagree with her on this specific issue, to understand there was a double standard applied here.

Hopefully if there does need to be any legal challenge to what happened today, she passes the hat round.

Do the Covid rules apply to the 'protected' prostitution zone?

How is a blow job safely administered? Are the police policing Covid there I wonder?

NiceGerbil · 21/09/2020 08:24

I don't understand this either Sapphos. What was that other thread all about then?

NiceGerbil · 21/09/2020 08:27

On the police, earlier on the thread it said the police told the women they had spoken to the organisers who confirmed it was not a legal protest.

So they lied through their teeth.

Then they didn't believe PP was the organiser...???

They assumed a man was in charge? Is the only thing that makes sense in the second part.

Winesalot · 21/09/2020 08:27

You have no idea whether it was "TRA's" (have put that in brackets before anyone pulls up because what does that actually mean? Trans people just quietly going about their lives but have a social media presence too and occasionally speak up? They seem to get linked in with extreme view points)
or just anyone

Excellent, keep this kind of discourse coming as it keeps us repeating the pertinent points for those reading.

I am surprised you have felt this is unclear after all your contributions on the threads of this board so far. You must know by now that many of us also know or at least follow and learn from many trans people who are not extremeists. The concerns that we have are usually with men and with organisations progressing an agenda that is harmful to women’s rights.

The people who abuse, threaten and call for women to be deplatformed are the extremists not willing to discuss anyone else’s needs. Some of these people are not even transgender themselves, but are allies and sometimes, too often they are misogynists. And again, there are many trans people who are open to discussion. If you have been taking onboard anything you are refuting when you post here, you should at least know this.

Unless you are only ever here to shame women discussing the same things Kellie-Jay focuses on - the rights of women and children and where conflicts cause erosion.

NiceGerbil · 21/09/2020 08:28

I suppose for WYP

politics = for men
And the only place women should be out in public is Holbeck

CrossPorpoises · 21/09/2020 08:30

Some people have no empathy. No imagination. Can't see a problem until it affects them

ANewCreation · 21/09/2020 08:31

How could the police in the video know that KJ's phone was actually still live-streaming?

Can't imagine them happening upon her YouTube channel 'by chance' so that seems to point to them being fed information...

KittyValentine · 21/09/2020 08:32

The Diva thread was just a load of egocentric bullcrap!

Standing for Women are a political organisation who organised a meeting under current rules.

Leeds police decided to disperse it because it didn't meet the criteria. Despite being told what it was for and the women offering to spread out for safety.

They were just following orders to stop women gathering.

Those police were not following the law.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 21/09/2020 08:36

I'm just stunned that WYP police can rustle up 6 or 7 coppers to shut up a few dozen uppity women, while at the same time rural policing has gone to shit. Arson, theft and drug dealing apparently don't matter as much as women asserting themselves.

I am Shock

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 21/09/2020 08:36

Oh, and Angry as well.

CrossPorpoises · 21/09/2020 08:38

We all now know exactly what women are allowed to do and not allowed to do on the streets of Leeds.

Shame on the place that gave us Jimmy fucking Savile.

NiceGerbil · 21/09/2020 08:41

Protest about women's rights = no

Working as prostitutes = yes please

Says it all.

MillyMollyFarmer · 21/09/2020 08:52

Yes this exactly. How many women are being beaten in their homes during lockdown while the police are on the streets stopping 14 women standing apart talking. It just is inexcusable.

TheShoesa · 21/09/2020 08:55

Good to see that WYP are consistent when it comes to dispersing gatherings to reduce COVID transmission in Leeds. Image from today's Daily Mail

maybe @SapphosRock is having difficulties at home - they mentioned a partner with the opposing view - anger and upset can manifest in many ways and, while I'm not making excuses for saying nasty things about KJ (or anyone), there could be a difficult situation at home for them.
Hope you're not having too hard a time Sapph.

Cailleach1 · 21/09/2020 09:19

It was a bit surreal when the police man said that he had spoken with the organiser and they said it wasn't political.

Cue response from Kellie that she was the organiser.

I think that is amazing. Answers need to be given on that.

TinselAngel · 21/09/2020 09:21

@Quaagars

I, and this is just a wild guess, put it down to a tra phoning the police to shut Posie up

Or maybe it was just police out as you're not supposed to be out gathering in groups now, especially with Leeds maybe on lockdown as of today.

No they didn't just happen to be passing, they were waiting there before it began.
Zilla1 · 21/09/2020 09:31

Let's hope there's no other demonstrations where someone against the point being made contacts the police to pretend being the organiser. The police would be helpless against such manipulation. I think it's time for the Chief Constable and Crime and Policing Commissioner to be held to account.

TinselAngel · 21/09/2020 09:37

I haven't watched all the video, but my memory is that the police officer was talking about speaking to Leeds Resisters.

CrossPorpoises · 21/09/2020 09:38

Liar: I'm the organiser of a demo this weekend

Police: right, give us your name and address and we'll send someone round to discuss safety etc..

Not. Rocket. Science.

The police are particularly shit in Savile-town methinks.

SorryImKnew · 21/09/2020 09:43

It was a bit surreal when the police man said that he had spoken with the organiser and they said it wasn't political.

In the last video you posted of Claire with the 5 other women (the one saying she has masks in her handbag), she states that she spent 2 hours on the phone to the police this weekend, prior to the event. Therefore, the police believed her to the organiser, which is why they were asking Posie whether she was Claire. Claire must have told the police that it wasn't a political protest - hence the police being able to state that they broke the rule of six. Presumably Claire stated that to avoid similar to the JKR poster decision, but it was a bit of an own goal.

A lot of posts here pretending that everything that happened today was planned and perfectly orchestrated. In reality, most of us can see that they were winging it with the police and were caught on the wrong foot.

SorryImKnew · 21/09/2020 09:44

Or yesterday even.

JamieLeeCurtains · 21/09/2020 09:52

Are the police saying that 'the organisers' denied it was a legal political protest?

Leeds Resisters are clearly a political protest group.

Leeds Resisters fly the 'definition of woman' flag at protests, and its members say things like, "Performances of femininity don't make a woman and identity politics is threatening the existing, hard fought for rights of women."

Why would the lying police claim LR said things that compromised their rights to be there? Oh yeah, misogyny.
