littlbrowndog · 20/09/2020 16:58

So why were they arrested. See pic up there.

BlackeyedSusan · 20/09/2020 16:58

ffs, the full stop at the end should have been a ? as in, He's a counsillor?

going to have a little lie down now... and hide my head in shame at my appalling spelling and grammar and typing today...

QueenofAsgard · 20/09/2020 16:58

@SorryImKnew your posts are reminding me of all the TRA who are pretending that someone else wrote the Harry Potter books rather than JK Rowling. It's the desperate denial of clear reality I think that feels similar. You seem to think that if you keep saying PP is not achieving anything in this debate then that makes it so. It makes me Grin

CaraDuneRedux · 20/09/2020 16:59

I wonder if Posie has at the back of her mind the possibility of sueing for wrongful arrest? I'd dig a hole for that one!

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 20/09/2020 17:00

I’m off to tell the pregnancy board that I’m not pregnant. And that actually, none of the women I know are pregnant!

Oooh, can I come with you? I've never been pregnant which I'm sure will be of great interest to the Pregnancy Board.

We have been in contact with Posie since this morning and have liaised between her and the Free Speech Union.

CaraDuneRedux · 20/09/2020 17:02

Cheers @HazzaTheOwl - good to know you guys are on the case!

Mmn654123 · 20/09/2020 17:04

@SorryImKnew

Who are the loads of people talking about it? The 14 people on here or the 14 people at the 'protest'? Most were lured in by the thread title today. I love a juicy arrest story and I presume that's how others clicked into this thread too. I'm backing out now as enough has been said from me. I have the sum total of no interest in this woman/adult human female and her political protest.
Yet here you still are, boring on at us......
JamieLeeCurtains · 20/09/2020 17:05

@OvaHere

Women's rights - simultaneously too political and not political at all. Grin Hmm
Looks like it. Bloody hell.
Langsdestiny · 20/09/2020 17:07

Fuck me she is brave.

@highame

zilla1 love the idea of violet conduct
It's that literal violets again
BlackeyedSusan · 20/09/2020 17:13

Oh god, bad spelling archived for posterity. Grin

MsStillwell · 20/09/2020 17:14

It's funny how the police keep trying the tactic of, "Hi Claire... it is Claire isn't it?" to find out her name.

QueenofAsgard · 20/09/2020 17:14

@LouMumsnet

Afternoon all. We've had to delete a fair few posts for troll hunting, we're afraid. Please can we ask you to stop troll hunting and singling out particular posters? If you have concerns that folk are not posting in good faith, please report them to us directly rather than addressing it on the thread - all that does is derail a discussion.

If the troll hunting continues, we're going to have to zap the thread entirely.

This is important. If you remove this thread then you're as bad as the police in that video in removing women's voices.
Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 20/09/2020 17:20

Without placards we're nothing
😂😂😂

KJ had got ovaries of steel & the PR industry missed themselves! Disgusting to see women being arrested for gathering legally.

(The “she won’t give us her details” “can we say hello?” “Hi Kellie” made me laugh!)

TinselAngel · 20/09/2020 17:22

@PronounssheRa

Who is the man in the grey hoodie? Plain clothes police?

There was a counter protest, witch finder general of Leeds had 'friends' there.

He was the police officer in charge.
JamieLeeCurtains · 20/09/2020 17:22

@LouMumsnet @JustineMumsnet

Please don't zap the thread. I'm a very long-standing poster and contributer to Mumsnet, and I'm still reading it. It seems like a very significant social document (the thread) to me.

Please leave it up. Close it temporarily if you must, but don't delete it.

Is anyone archiving this?

SunsetBeetch · 20/09/2020 17:23

@littlbrowndog

So why were they arrested. See pic up there.
Well that makes the police look stupid.
gardenbird48 · 20/09/2020 17:26

Her timing is impeccable - Self id announcement leaked to the papers and is therefore trending on Twitter - what an absolute star.
I can’t imagine how scary that must have been sat in her own in the back of a police van wondering what the hell happened to free speech and democracy!!

I hope she gets to have a nice sit down tonight and a glass of wine - it’s very well earned 🍷 🍷
I 😍 K-J

BewaretheIckabog · 20/09/2020 17:26

Just posted on the wrong thread but this is an eye-opening, top of the mountain moment for me.

Policing in the 2020 pandemic:

BLM ✔️
Extinction Rebellion ✔️
Covid deniers ✔️
Trans march ✔️
Women’s rights - arrested for simply turning up.

A truly dystopian world.

TinselAngel · 20/09/2020 17:28

The arrests were because for a gathering of more than six people to be legal currently, it has to be a political protest organised by a political group. The police had decided it didn't meet the definition of a political group so the protest was told to disperse.

Those women who refused to disperse were arrested.

Some women went round the corner and started proceedings there instead. After about 10 minutes the police turned up again and the process was repeated.

Network rail thinks she's political.
