Leeds is on the brink of a lockdown so have arrested her under Covid rules of gathering in public. Removal from the area the de-arrested is my understanding.
West Yorkshire Police are a complete shit show I detest them and they hate women.

HotPatootiebootie · 20/09/2020 12:45

:(

BoreOfWhabylon · 20/09/2020 12:51

I wonder who could possibly have reported the "gathering"?

Stripesgalore · 20/09/2020 12:52

What is actually happening? All I can hear are the police explaining policing 101 and people professing surprise that they can detain you.

NecessaryScene1 · 20/09/2020 12:53

The policeman said "unfortunately, the protest doesn't fall within the legal definition of a political organisation".

It seems she's trying to force them to arrest her (rather than accept a fine) so that can be fought out. Do women have the "official right" to protest like other groups?

Thelnebriati · 20/09/2020 12:53

Near the beginning there's a discussion on how political gatherings are allowed and whether or not its classed as a political gathering.

Melroses · 20/09/2020 12:56

It's Leeds innit?

I think they were saying to visit in rolling groups of 6, and no more that 30 in total.

slipperywhensparticus · 20/09/2020 12:57

Under what definition are they arresting her? Protests are still allowed?

BettyFloop · 20/09/2020 12:58

KJ is in the back of a police van. They have her phone but haven't realised it's still recording. Her phone is currently in her bag. KJ is declining to give them her ID.
Police are planning to issue fixed penalty notice for gathering in a group of more than 6 people even though political gatherings are exempt from the Covid restrictions. Police officer said that gathering to talk about women's rights isn't political.

What is she protesting about?

TesselateMore · 20/09/2020 12:58

I don't get the logic of doing this in a high Covid area. I know the risk is lower for the outdoor bit but by ending up in a police van she's more likely to get it from the police.

But maybe I'm just jaundiced because I got a positive test back yesterday in a neighbouring authority. Even though I stuck to the rules.

I admire some of what she's done but this would put me off sending money.

Grin

He’s on one! Not political! Grin

LiterallyProblematic · 20/09/2020 13:01

That woman is a bloody legend.

Stripesgalore · 20/09/2020 13:02

Can someone explain?

Are a political gathering and a protest the same thing?

SoManyActivities · 20/09/2020 13:03

Bloomin 'eck!

Just watched back a bit, how is it not a political protest?

TheChampagneGalop · 20/09/2020 13:03

What the hell? Hmm

BaronessWrongCrowd · 20/09/2020 13:05

So it's perfectly okay for 100's to gather for BLM or anti-Covid but women's rights is not political. I see this not going well for the police.

EdgeOfACoin · 20/09/2020 13:08

That's what I was thinking. Seems as though BLM is okay but protesting about women's rights is not okay.
Deltoids1 · 20/09/2020 13:09

Aren’t the police making this political by actually arresting her?
Posie will know exactly what she’s doing, she’s not daft.

😶 😮

NecessaryScene1 · 20/09/2020 13:10

Someone smarter than me on Twitter just highlighted the contrast with her "I [heart] JKR" advert in Edinburgh, which was taken down for being "too political". Grin

persistentwoman · 20/09/2020 13:11

There were marches in 12 different UK cities yesterday by those dubious "Save Our Children" QAnon groups. Does anyone know if the organisers of these were all arrested?

eddiemairswife · 20/09/2020 13:11

Who is she?

TheChampagneGalop · 20/09/2020 13:11

Remember how the I

Stripesgalore · 20/09/2020 13:13

QAnon are completely insane, but they are also very clearly a political movement and are holding protests. Why would they be arrested?
