Those tiny tots. I feel for them...Confused

TinselAngel · 13/09/2020 12:20

If she's got enough material for 3 autobiographies I must have enough for 30.

CivilCervix · 13/09/2020 12:22

People do seem determined to make life even more difficult to navigate, not less, don't they? It must be exhausting.

JaneAustenWouldHateThis · 13/09/2020 12:31

So, blue hair then?

JaneAustenWouldHateThis · 13/09/2020 12:33

@TinselAngel

I can't find anything about this person on t'internet including the three autobiographies.

Anyone have any more success?

TorkTorkBam · 13/09/2020 12:36

They would be three of the world's most dull autobiographies given she is a western woman in her twenties with young children who has the time and money for baby groups but doesn't really click with the other mums in the groups. That's her trauma. No mention of the children's fxther. It isn't going to be a shocking page turner now is it?

Love51 · 13/09/2020 12:44

I'm not aware that baby or toddler groups were gendered. We had grandads, grandmas, dads, mums, and foster carers (gay and straight) and even a childminder at mine in my not especially cosmopolitan grim northern town. Sometimes the same child would come on different weeks with different carers, depending on what suited the family. No one asked, we just chatted about kids, drank tea and found people to hand down outgrown clothes to. It was a bloody lovely group, bit labelled as 'inclusive' but really it was very supportive to everyone's circumstances, with no oppression Olympics.

Love51 · 13/09/2020 12:45

By bit I meant not.

JaneAustenWouldHateThis · 13/09/2020 12:48

No mention of the children's fxther.

Fucking excellent!

This is why I come here.

Wandawomble · 13/09/2020 12:54

Just reread it, Boby not Baby! Still it sounds like Boaby which around these parts is slang for penis.

Wandawomble · 13/09/2020 12:56

Again this makes me think of a comment I saw under a man dancing around in a dress and saying he was being “boldly non binary”

“The more I read about non binary people, the less I understand what non binary is.”

LovelyLovelyMe · 13/09/2020 13:05

No, I don't think she has published three autobiographies but said that she has material enough for three if she were to publish.

That's how I read it, although it is all such a pile of shite that she could mean anything.

OvaHere · 13/09/2020 13:05

@SnuggyBuggy

I hope the Stately Homes threads are still going when Boby's kids are grown up
That was my immediate thought!
LovelyLovelyMe · 13/09/2020 13:09

Don't try to understand these terms @Wandawomble because that's how they become part of language and it's only a small step from there to both the word and the concept becoming mainstream, instead of the private province of the deranged.

I have no wish to understand them, I close my eyes if someone takes it upon themselves to explain them to me because they are not real and I won't give them headroom.

LovelyLovelyMe · 13/09/2020 13:11

Well, father is a patriarchal term that should no longer used and, in this particular case, I believe the being with a womb was visited by a golden sparkle sent from Zeus.
SoManyActivities · 13/09/2020 13:11

What a load of absolute horseshit.

Also, she was moaning that there aren't any groups for non-binary parents (I wonder why?!) but doesn't appear to have any intention of setting one up herself?

It's just all so self indulgent, how do people have time for this level of navel gazing?!

These people invariably have such a limited view of women. They’ve totally swallowed the nonsense that is gender. The pink and the makeup and the traits that fit into nursery rhymes. It’s like the range of women just don’t exist.

Their stupid narrow idea of what women are is the problem.

She could try but I can't imagine it would take off. I suppose with all the funding going around for TQ stuff it might be viable for a short while but not in the longer term.

I was on the committee of our local toddler/playgroup for about 7 years and it's incredibly hard to keep these types of groups afloat. We came within a inch of closure on a few occasions and that's with the group being open to everybody and anybody.

Deliriumoftheendless · 13/09/2020 13:28

So what if you don’t fit in at parenting groups? I made one friend and was mostly ignored as where I lived at the time was v cliquey and if you weren’t raised there you were an outsider. The only people who really bothered with me where a Polish woman and another woman who didn’t really fit in. So what? My kid played with the other kids and the centre’s toys and got snacks.

MingeofDeath · 13/09/2020 13:36

Hadaway and shite

CivilCervix · 13/09/2020 13:52

Yes. It's all so depressingly regressive.

Oh god,, Wheres Titania MGrath when you need her?? Grin

SoManyActivities · 13/09/2020 14:14

It's just the complete and utter disregard for language that gets me. If you carried a baby, gave birth to it and care for it now, you are a mother. That is literally what the word means!!!

Just because you don't like that meaning doesn't mean you can just change that meaning. That's what language is - words mean stuff and we all have a collective understand of what each word means. It's how humans communicate!
