I saw that Destinysdaughter. The islamophobia/racism accusations are ridiculous. Going by the screenshots I've seen, PP hasn't said anything that Bindel wouldn't agree with.

Sally clarifies this morning that it's ok to be a suburban housewife. (Phew, thanks). Just not one that says or does anything that suburban housewives understand because suburban housewives can't be political. Suburban housewives automatically become"right wing anti feminist" if they speak to other women.

No, it's not making a lot of sense but do sign up for your 9,000 a year useless degree in pomo blabla to hear more.

PegasusReturns · 04/09/2020 10:47

It’s jealousy.

None of them can stand the fact that PP was able to mobilise women in a way that they couldn’t.

Eaton is particularly eaten up with rage over it all.

It’s like high school.

Quillink · 04/09/2020 10:48

For Posie, being a housewife means that she can be outspoken in a way that the employed can't. She has nothing to lose.

I'm grateful for people like her. She's uncompromising in her advocacy for children and not afraid to say it. SH and JB's response is not a good look.

I agree. Eaton isnt the only one either, nor the worst.

Hines now seems to be claiming that all some women need (if they disagree with her) is a good seeing too, as far as I can tell from this tweet.

twitter.com/sally_hines/status/1301659550043516929

'the ideology of fuckers. *who probably don't do enough fucking'

This is the state of our feminist academics, in 2020.

ArabellaScott · 04/09/2020 11:30

Hines is employed at the Jim Davidson school of feminism, for anyone wondering her credentials.

Thingybob · 04/09/2020 11:40

Can anyone point me towards Sally Hines work where she shows her "concern about the rights and welfare of women with several children on benefits"

She also cares so much about children that she is "leading on the project about the right to have children"

AntsInPenzance · 04/09/2020 11:52

I'm guessing Bindel's problem with Posie is the latter's association with The American Conservative magazine?

AskDan · 04/09/2020 12:09

As others have said, being financial independent liberates women to say whatever the fuck they want, without worrying about losing their jobs etc.

I am grateful to PP, her straightforward use of language is understandable to a wide audience.

Thesuzle · 04/09/2020 12:12

Any one notice what time they will be speaking next month ?

I get that Julie Bindel dislikes Posie Parker intensely. I still can't imagine disliking anyone so badly that I'd respond to a thread by Sally Hines just to diss them.

I really admire Allison Bailey.

'Suburban' is such an odd insult. I remember Simon Schama using it on Question Time a couple of years back to have a pop at Rod Liddle.

blackolivesmatter · 04/09/2020 15:04

Well quite. Especially when there is such a dizzying array of fertile ground upon which to attack Liddle.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 04/09/2020 15:07

Well, Schama went to Haberdasher’s Aske’s and Liddle probably went to state school...

isittimetogotobed · 04/09/2020 15:10

Aww this was my daughter and her friend who filmed this for Posie

blackolivesmatter · 04/09/2020 15:14

Your premise being that Rod Liddle is a plebian tribune? Man of the people. Like Al Johnson and Nigel Farage. Righto.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 04/09/2020 15:18

I don’t quite get your point BlackOlives - Liddle is from a working class background and those two emphatically aren’t and Schama’s criticism of Liddle reeks of classism (when as another poster says there is plenty of more concrete stuff to criticise Liddle for).

Freespeecher · 04/09/2020 15:36

blackolivesmatter

Well, quite - there's a rich array of epithets to hurl upon Liddle before alighting upon 'suburban' I'd have thought.

Does anyone know why does JB dislike Posie?
LadyH846 · 04/09/2020 16:19

@Escapeplanning

The snobbery gets fully into it's stride. Sally, the women you teach your blahblahgendequeerblahblsh to are unqualified for any productive job in the real world and will end up as suburban housewives. Chew on that reality.
It is disgusting snobbery. What does being a housewife or from the suburbs have to do with anything.
SunsetBeetch · 06/09/2020 20:07

Quite astounding from Sally Hines. She really hates other women, doesn't she?

twitter.com/sally_hines/status/1301621537028673550?s=20

"Given everything over the last few days, I thought I should give this video a go. I managed 6.03 minutes of this 41 minute Posie diatribe. In that brief (unbearable) time, I learnt that until very recently Posie didn’t know anything about trans. She was, to quote, “ignorant”. "

"Now, trans people have existed since time began and modern trans cultures in the UK are, well, hardly new. But Posie was at home having all her babies and only “found out about it” 5 years ago; in 2015 . When she did “find out about it”, it made her feel,to quote, “uncomfortable” "

...

"Posie is basically a very spoilt person who is stamping her feet because she doesn’t understand. Don’t like it! Don’t want it! But how the hell did this suburban housewife (and she’s very proud of this) get to be taken AT ALL seriously by women who know anything about feminism?"

"She IS Phylis Schlafly"

...

"Oh for goodness sake, her suburban housewifery little house on the prairiedom is a narrative structure. It’s ideological. It has a purpose."

Archived here is case she has an uncharacteristic epiphany about how she's coming across

I absolutely love this reply

"Laura Ingalls Wilder was actually a badass. You couldn’t have survived a day in the prairie,
@sally_hines
, you’d be kicked in the head after trying to milk a bull."

Well this morning my mentions are full of people telling me that I look down on people who live in the suburbs and have children. To clarify, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with living outside a city if that’s your thing (though I do have a bit of an issue with farmers)

From Sally Hines' twitter. The comment about farmers is beyond inane.

twoHopes · 06/09/2020 20:25

I'm still laughing at the irony of tweeting about "anti-intellectual fuckers who don't do enough fucking"

Maybe that'll be the next Posie Parker t-shirt
