Not good enough. He only apologised when national papers picked up on it. Not because he genuinely reflected on being an arse.

He could have said, female survivors of sexual assault have legitimate reasons to fear the ending of sex-segregated spaces. But he didn't. Because he doesn't really care about such women.

I am in so much awe of her.

I bet the last thing she wanted to do was wade into the cesspool of misogyny all over again. It's Sunday. She has a job to do and a family to be with and her own mental health to protect, but she must have realised that if she spoke again now it would shine more light on the sinister dynamics of this movement and might just have an impact on how Keir Starmer and the labour party handle the rank misogyny and sanctioned sexism of the left wing woke. Not to mention leaving the media less room to misrepresent it.

I am so grateful for her tireless, selfless courage and strength.

I don’t know. She makes it clear that she thinks his apology was not an apology at all - and illustrates that point beautifully. I think her acceptance of it reads as a pointed demonstration of courtesy, which that little man wouldn’t recognise if he found it in his soup. And she has specifically copied in the Labour Party. I think this one will be hard to wriggle out of. Or, it bloody should be.

I'm not sure that's true.

JKR accepting an apology on a personal level doesn't resolve the issue that a shadow minister showed incredibly poor judgment in publishing in the first place AND only apologised after the story was picked up by national news.

It's absolutely a test for Starmer and if he has any sense he'll take this gift to remove yet another Corbyn Clone from the shadow front bench.
