That bloke in Labour who looks at women like he's seen a rat has outdone himself here.

Starmer should never have appointed this odious specimen to the front bench in the first place.

Exactly.
He shouldn't have appointed any of the signatories of that appalling anti-women pledge. I don't understand why the bar is set so low for the Labour leader.

PronounssheRa · 28/06/2020 13:44

No he shouldn't. Starmers response to this will tell us a lot about how the party deal with misogyny. Lloyd is viewed as a crank by the general public, and going by the error strewn article he wrote he is also not one of the great thinkers of our time.
He is no loss to the shadow cabinet, but does starmer care enough about this?

Slightly off topic but re: Labour men, the DM has a story running that " Tony Blair has revealed he hasn't done housework, laundry or cooked a family meal since 1997"

Locked down in their 7 bedroom mansion.

The ex-PM and his wife are also isolating with middle son, Nicky, 35, a football agent, his heavily pregnant wife and their two children.

Any bets who has been doing the cooking, cleaning, childcare?

WanderinWomb · 28/06/2020 14:47

Russell-Moyle combines the charm of Rachel McKinnon with the analytical mind of Lilly Madigan, the mad starring eyes of Adrian Harrop and the facial hair of a 17 year old boy

😁😉 perfect description Don.
He was really offensive to people with DSD on telly around leadership election and didn't apologise or educate himself at all.
He's an unleashed misogynistic and has never retracted in the slightest.

EwwSprouts · 28/06/2020 16:29

His apology does not extend to taking down the tweet with link to original article while the Tribune rewrite it for him. As at now the offensive content about JKR is still there.
twitter.com/lloyd_rm/status/1275371330255405057

He really is thick as mince. In the article he says that hundreds of trans people complained to The Sun when it trivialised her domestic abuse (great I hope many did) but then he's gone ahead Sun style and done the same about her sexual assault.

merrymouse · 28/06/2020 16:37

To be honest, although the Sun front page was shocking, I don’t think the story in the paper trivialised her abuse.

DryHeave · 28/06/2020 16:37

JKR is tweeting a thread of 9 tweets...

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 28/06/2020 16:43

JKR is addressing the little turd's non apology now on twitter.

EwwSprouts · 28/06/2020 16:44

"I don’t think the story in the paper trivialised her abuse." His words in the piece not mine. I didn't read the Sun.

lakeswimmer · 28/06/2020 16:48

So many reasons to never, ever vote Labour. Do they have a single MP with an ounce of courage and critical thinking ability? How do they think they will ever get elected again?

SerenityNowwwww · 28/06/2020 16:54

What this whooooole circus has clearly shown us that political parties, business and charities will fight for the right to shoot kittens into space on a large firework if they thought it would make them popular. The lobbyists/charities exist because we permit them to (they are a business after all) and the politicians, businesses etc think they will make them popular/get votes.

They are all just a load of lying weasels who are just killing themselves for likes/sales/votes/ brownie points. No ethics, no scruples, no conscience.

Long time lurker. Made this account to comment and share this link.

If anyone wanted to complain about Lloyd Russel to labour (you don’t have to be a labour member to submit a complaint) you can do so here:
labour.org.uk/members/my-welfare/making-a-complaint/

I don’t usually do this, however I’m just so angry right now. A man in his position effectively attempting to silence the voice of women in the future speaking out about their abuse. It’s this kind of thing that stops victims of abuse coming forward.

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 28/06/2020 20:23

Thanks for the link, Cactus, I will be making a complaint tomorrow.

JackiF · 28/06/2020 21:11

I was reading the LP complaint route.

If it is regarding the conduct of an individual member, it will be passed to the Disputes Team for investigation. Following that, the case will be considered by a Disputes Panel of the National Executive Committee who will have a range of potential sanctions available to them, the most serious of which is a referral to the National Constitutional Committee with a recommendation of expulsion
Thanks Cactus
A genuine question. I'd appreciate your view.

If I complain this way, won't it take ages to get through the various stages?

Also, I am not sure who sits on the Disputes Panel of the NEC these days. Any idea? I left the Labour Party a long time ago, and tbh I'm wary of their formal complaint system. Not that keen on some people having my details.

Isn't it better, and more immediate, to email Keir Starmer directly?

SignOnTheWindow · 28/06/2020 21:19

@Whysomanyexcuses

I'm not on Twitter but from all the stories recently it sounds an awful platform

Due to the Karen White case and similar I am not for women who haven't fully transitioned in womens places or womens prisons. The largest percentage on sex attacks on female prisoners is from women who haven't fully transistioned and from women in the process of becoming men (maybe due to the male hormones?)

JKR is correct in my opinion.

Hi @Whysomanyexcuses, do you have a link to the statistics on this by any chance? Would very much help with an argument I'm having with a friend atm.
SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 28/06/2020 21:19

I'm doing both. I've already emailed KS, and will do this one tomorrow.

Welcome and thank you for posting. This is a useful link for both party members and interested observers!
JackiF · 28/06/2020 21:22

Sod them, I'll do both too. I keep thinking of vulture and that awful meeting she had with him.
Thanks Cactus

Siablue · 28/06/2020 21:26

Thank you Caringcactus I think it’s a good idea to put in a complaint. He might lose his membership which would mean he could lose his seat.

www.thetimes.co.uk/article/seven-sex-attacks-in-womens-jails-by-transgender-convicts-cx9m8zqpg

Other thread on here had a pie chart/stats that showed the number of sex attacks on women prisoners and 90% were by Trans.

Whysomanyexcuses · 29/06/2020 09:37

I apologise the JKR twitter above is the stats on sex attack in unsafe changing rooms - unisex changing rooms not the one I thought it was...

There is so much out there!

Whysomanyexcuses · 29/06/2020 09:39

The Karen White story - convicted of multiple rapes and other awful violent crimes but he said he was a woman and dressed in women's clothing and so was placed in a women's prison - then attacked 2 women prisoners

www.theguardian.com/society/2018/oct/11/karen-white-how-manipulative-and-controlling-offender-attacked-again-transgender-prison

Whysomanyexcuses · 29/06/2020 09:43

she said she was a woman not he said - by that time formally him and decided to be her and she is not in a men's prison and going through the process to transition.

She appears to have a hatred for women yet want to be one, sexually assaults/rapes women - vile individual whatever gender that person chooses to assume

SignOnTheWindow · 29/06/2020 11:22

@Whysomanyexcuses - thank you.

'Prison Service statistics do not include those prisoners born male who have already legally changed sex.' WATF?! So presumably even more of these attacks might have been carried out by such prisoners and we just don't know?

Fucking hell.
