Yes, it was more of a general comment.
I suppose though I can see why there might be certain roles where a younger person, even a teen, might be appropriate. But then, I don't know how significant I think those roles even are.
We seem to expect a lot from young people somehow, some of the wrong sorts of things. Greta T is a good example, she was hailed as almost a sort or oracular figure, and she was such a focus for a few months, but of course she had no real ideas, she tended to simplify what is complex, and created no lasting change.
On social and historical and political issues, my feeling is that it's when people, be they regular people or even academics, are in their 40s, 50s or even older that they start seeing more complex patterns and forces at work, and start having much greater insight into what moves other people and what constrains them, what kinds of unexpected effects can happen. There seems to be a significant leap not only in experience but in the type of complexity people can see.
