They are sharing it, they are agreeing, one even said "I stand by my wife to feel safe in spaces" another said "my Mrs and kids should be safe at their most vunerable time"

I’m part of the “bookstagram” community and this has really rattled me. The response to Jo’s words is just, sickening?

Ive cried so much over this tonight. I’m scared to speak out on my “platform” in support of her, for fear of being doxxed or inundated with hateful DMs, from people I’ve considered my (online) friends for years.

There is not a single person on her side over there from what I can see. I feel like deleting my account.

How can people not see she is making a completely sane, sound argument for the protection of safe spaces for women?

I’m devastated.

That is a wonderful essay, though it saddens me that JKR has had to disclose her own abuse to contextualise her concerns. She is simply magnifcent. 💐

My daughter's friendship group at school was almost entirely lesbian or non-binary. JK is spot on about peer pressure.

I thought the Body Shop was iffy from way back with all the cultural appropriations and Anita Roddick on that TV advert saying 'I go into tribes ...' like a colonial adventurer.

I guess their wokey PR staff don't mind the cultural appropriation of 'Women' either.

Well, I’m not usually one for a knee jerk boycott, but I’ve just broken up with the body shop over email. Can’t believe how awful that response is.

The response overwhelmingly negative Not just on twitter but in the celebrity world in the media on forums.

JK herself pointed out she was receiving emails, she has a team don’t worry.

I've shared it on twitter. My twitter account is linked to my work. Because of the job I do I am likely to get significant push-back.

I am a bit scared, tbh. Part of me wants to delete. But I won't, because I am tired of being scared.

How did we get to the point where women are scared, genuinely scared, to say that biological sex exists?

I shared it on my Facebook, I’ve since had messages from 5 different friends who all say they agree but are too scared to comment due to fear of losing their jobs - two teachers, a nurse, a social worker and a vet.

That email address is publicly available so they’d find it regardless. But at least if those supporting her email too she’ll know there’s lots of women who agree with her.

I think most people realise, if they have come across it, but are keeping their heads down and hoping the adults will sort it out because the ramifications are too ridiculous to contemplate.

The way the press react does not help.

I've just had a mooch on facebook at the comments. Utterly horrific. I cant deal with such hateful stupidity. So thankyou again jk Rowling and mnhq for standing up on our behalf.
