Pro-woman is just a euphemism for transphobic

Exactly that.

Transgender people are not eroding our rights as women. Although, the people making such spiteful and ignorant comments and talking about trying to stop them getting recognized as women are eroding their rights to be accepted, respected equal. Do you all honestly think that by speaking out AGAINST transgender people, you are going to be declared as heroes?

And what happened to be kind?

OP has no problem identifying who women are to scold with 'be kind'.

wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 10/06/2020 14:16

@langclegflavoredbananamush

OP, Do you believe women should continue to have all the rights they currently have in law?
Waiting with baited breath for your answer to this question, OP.

Oh @Burgundy1844 thank you for volunteering!

Do you believe women should continue to have all the rights they currently have in law?

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 10/06/2020 14:17

Notreally, are you saying the concerned of lesbians are niche?
Based on population numbers of lesbians? Or why?

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 10/06/2020 14:18

*concerns

OP...

Pro-woman is just a euphemism for transphobic
Winesalot · 10/06/2020 14:18

' if just one person reads this thread and has a rethink about the way they think and talk about transgender people then it will have been worth it.'

So far OP, what you have succeeded in doing is actually encouraging many newer posters to comment to the contrary. And that your intention to be goady is very clear in your lack of true engagement which speaks hugely for the way this debate has been played out everywhere else.

Really, it seems like an own goal here.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 10/06/2020 14:18

@Michelleoftheresistance

Yes, I'd really like to hear your answer to this question, OP.
DickKerrLadies · 10/06/2020 14:19

Oh squirrel that's beautiful.

How kind of you!

LookAtTheCahhOlivahhhhh · 10/06/2020 14:21

@Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel

OP...
Do you mind if I save that for my own use?
Burgundy1844 · 10/06/2020 14:21

You mean the rights that some women have at law but seemingly not all women.

Apollo440 · 10/06/2020 14:21

Well they convinced me with their razor logic and fantastic debating skills. Who could possibly stand against such a tour de force.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 10/06/2020 14:21

Do you think a rape victim should have to refer to her rapist as 'she' in court?

Do you think male athletes, unable to win in men's events, should be allowed to transfer to women's events, thus denying a woman her place and opportunities to succeed? Perhaps your sister (if you mean a biological female) would like to play on the men's team but her biology will mean she cannot physically compete. Do you think professional male football teams will budge up and accommodate her anyway?

Do you think that anyone who declares themselves to be female should have access to women's loos or changing rooms or dv centres, even though they have done nothing to actually transition? Can you not see the potential for abuse of women here?

Graffitiqueen · 10/06/2020 14:22

@littlemeadow123 answer the question.

Do you believe women should continue to have all the rights they currently have in law?

Ickabog · 10/06/2020 14:22

This is me. I been on MN for years, and I think i've only ever commented on feminism chat once or twice. OPs lack of engagement and refusal to answer a question which has been repeatedly asked, shows me they aren't here to try and change the way I, or anyone else thinks or talks about transgender people.

Burgundy1844 · 10/06/2020 14:22

And bless you think you’ve found something really clever so you can all parrot it ad infinitum Hmm

BoreOfWhabylon · 10/06/2020 14:24

Be Kind?

Mote. Beam. Eye.

JellyFishSquish · 10/06/2020 14:24

Do you all honestly think that by speaking out AGAINST transgender people, you are going to be declared as heroes?

Is this comment coming from the JKR issue? Because if it is, can I just point out AGAIN that nothing was said against transmen or transwomen by JKR. You are suggesting perhaps that women can have no fact or reality that is specific to them, at all?

Except to be kind, of course. You recognise us as a set of people when you want to tell us to STFU. Like you I have a trans sibling. No hate, but undeniably different biology. I know it, they know it. Is that so hard? I am not a hero and neither is my sibling but we both get that science is real and gender is not sex.

And to Burgundy1844 if I am a bigot then so is my trans sibling. How do you work that out?

dworky · 10/06/2020 14:24

Should we should just sit back and allow our rights to be eroded?

Please name another group of which that would be expected.

BaronessRadishFemish · 10/06/2020 14:25

For a minute there I thought it was the chuffing weekend.

Shall we take shifts on asking the question? I could help out tomorrow morning..say eightish?

DickKerrLadies · 10/06/2020 14:26

@Burgundy1844

You mean the rights that some women have at law but seemingly not all women.
I'll put you down as a 'no', then, shall I?
Melia100 · 10/06/2020 14:26

History will judge them

Hmm, because those standing with men who tell JKR to 'suck my c*ck' are assured of a place in the historical heavens.

I think not.

CaraDune · 10/06/2020 14:26

Karen White (convicted rapist still in possession of his penis) wants the right to be held in a women's prison, because he identifies as a woman.

The OHCHR says women prisoners have a right to be held in single sex accommodation.

Whose right wins, OP? This is another one where you can't have it both ways.

Since you appear to be as uninterested in following links as you are in answering questions and defending your position, here's the relevant bits of the text.

From the OHCHR pocket book for prison officials:
www.ohchr.org/Documents/Publications/training11Add3en.pdf

"B. Women in prison

Women are entitled to the equal enjoyment and
protection of all human rights in the political, economic,social, cultural, civil and all other fields.102

Women prisoners shall not suffer discrimination and shall
be protected from all forms of violence or exploitation.103

Women prisoners shall be detained separately from maleprisoners.104

Women prisoners shall be supervised and searched only by
female officers and staff.105"

refusetobeasheep · 10/06/2020 14:26

not really bothered what a perfect username. Maybe one day you will start to be bothered about how the TWAW narrative leads to young girls being immediately affirmed as male and put on a pathway to irreversible surgery with insufficient psychiatric enquiry into why they feel they are in the wrong body. Tavistock and many others will be held accountable in the end and all the TWAW devotees will have to answer for the ruined lives out there.
