One day, when you grow up maybe you'll start reading grown up books

Where did i say id read them?

BaronessFloralBunting · 08/06/2020 20:09

Topsy turvy land, where a string of men verbally abusing a woman is dismissed, but the important bit is that Datun said they were men.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 08/06/2020 20:10

Very basic comprehension issues

Dances · 08/06/2020 20:10

She will be boo-hooing into her sumptuous upholstery as we speak.

Some random with defective logic skills doesn't rate her books! Could it be possible?

FlamingoAndJohn · 08/06/2020 20:11

@EmpressLangClegInChair

Is red velvet cake on offer?
You know that red velvet cake is generally just chocolate cake with red food colouring in it?
merrymouse · 08/06/2020 20:11

she is telling her 14.5 million followers that trans people claim sex isn't real when she must surely know that the vast majority of them are talking about gender.

I am sure that many Trans people believe that sex is real because I have heard them express this view.

However, the Scottish Trans-gender Alliance and Stonewall have campaigned for sex based exemptions to be removed from the Equalitiy Act.

Either they believe that sex doesn't exist and that therefore sex based rights shouldn't exist, or they believe that sex does exist and still believe that sex based rights shouldn't exist. I'm not sure which is worse.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 08/06/2020 20:12

Anything is possible dances

How is reading a children’s book a gotcha😀

Its mumsnet, thousands of us have read childrens books...to actual children

Chocolate50 · 08/06/2020 20:12

@Aesopfable oohh yes that's it you've definitely got my number. I always wanted to be a hated figure of contempt like jk Rowling

BaronessFloralBunting · 08/06/2020 20:12

Pmsl. I see the really impressive arguments personal attacks we see on Twitter are migrating here.

Go on, let it out, call me a cunt or a bitch or something. It will be so effective.

Aesopfable · 08/06/2020 20:13

In some cultures starting your periods means you are now treated as a woman

And married off to a man decades your senior.

Periods are a fundamental part of the oppression of women worldwide.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 08/06/2020 20:13

i always wanted to be a hated figure of contempt like jk Rowling

Good to hear

Aesopfable · 08/06/2020 20:15

Aesop’s fables are children’s stories, and yet you still manage to miss the point. Comprehension is obviously not your strong point.

Danny8558 · 08/06/2020 20:15

Well done JKR. This needs saying, and I just wish more people like her were brave enough to speak out. It bears repeating that everyone deserves kindness, But no one should expect us to share their delusion. Only women menstruate.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 08/06/2020 20:15

Though im sure no one hates you

TehBewilderness · 08/06/2020 20:16

Not the first time the male half of the human population has tried to turn the female half of the human population into a verb instead of a noun.
Prolly won't be the last.

Chocolate50 · 08/06/2020 20:16

You all do realize that jk Rowling is not reading this don't you?? Just saying she's way too busy moving onto the next group of people to piss off.

BringbackLang · 08/06/2020 20:17

Several things - JKR has written books that have reached and inspired millions of children. Can you say the same? What have you done?

Many find the word Cis gendered offensive on this board. We are not a subset of our own friggin sex. Hmm

A few tweets? Because of a few tweets? Thousands of abusive, threatening tweets - because a woman knows bloody biology. Because a woman said no. Get over yourselves.

#Lemondrizzlerules

merrymouse · 08/06/2020 20:17

exactly Floisme - and if your son hasn't started his periods by the time he is 18, are you concerned that he might be suffering from a medical condition that could indicate infertility?

I don't have the foggiest idea what 'womanhood' is, but the presence or absence of periods means something completely different if you are male or female.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 08/06/2020 20:19

Exactly merry

I was very worried about dds periods or lack thereof

I was delighted with the absence of bleeding from the genitals in both my boys

Chocolate50 · 08/06/2020 20:20

@Aesopfable ah well... Don't assume that because I've got an opinion it doesn't mean its not informed & that I've not researched what I'm saying.
Oh you're assuming I haven't?! You mean like the people you're objecting to about jk Rowling?!

Thisismytimetoshine · 08/06/2020 20:21

We're not assuming anything, you're making it crystal clear.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 08/06/2020 20:21

I asked my DH what a woman was yesterday. His answer?

Someone who has a womb, periods, can bear children.

If asked outside of a trans conversation, I’m sure the majority of people would say the same!

Dances · 08/06/2020 20:22

No assumption choc, it's pretty evident
