She's so brave. I really hope that one day she gets justice.

MoltenLasagne · 14/04/2020 20:18

I believe her.

InfiniteSheldon · 14/04/2020 20:20

This interview should be on the school curriculum not Mermaid propaganda. I believe her Flowers

Ontheboardwalk · 14/04/2020 20:24

Have you seen the written statement she was supposed to have made 'confessing' it wasn’t true. Absolutely shocking

I believe her, no doubt in my mind that she could be lying

TalkingtoLangClegintheDark · 14/04/2020 20:33

This interview should be on the school curriculum not Mermaid propaganda.

God, yes, InfiniteSheldon. Wouldn’t it be amazing if women’s and girls’ safety was taken that seriously, if our lives and the traumas so many of us are vulnerable to actually mattered that much. Just imagine.

I believe her, of course.

Queenoftheashes · 14/04/2020 20:34

Of course I fucking believe her.
As if men being entitled rapists is so unusual or implausible. Ffs.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 14/04/2020 21:01

I believe her

ByGrabtharsHammerWhatASavings · 14/04/2020 21:03

Yes, the idea that a teenage girl consensually engaging in group sex with male strangers is more plausible to anyone than a gang of men raping a young girl, is beyond my comprehension. Teenage girls are not exactly known for their love of group sex with strangers, are they? While there are literally millions of examples every year of men raping women. It's hardly a fucking head scratcher is it! I believe her. Anyone with a brain cell should believe her.

Cattenberg · 14/04/2020 21:53

I believe her. I certainly won’t be visiting Cyprus on holiday. I think we should all boycott Cyprus until its citizens vote in a government that’s prepared to tackle the sexual abuse of women.

I realise there are many other countries that could apply to, but Cyprus seems to made a deliberate decision to cover up sexual abuse for financial reasons. That should cost them dearly.

SapphosEyes · 14/04/2020 21:56

I believe her.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 14/04/2020 22:09

Yes to a boycott of Cyprus. And Israel.

Wauden · 14/04/2020 22:23

Who would want to go to Cyprus now?
"She maintains she was raped, but was forced to change her account under pressure from Cypriot police following hours of questioning alone and without legal representation". - From the article above.

BettyFloop · 14/04/2020 22:32

I believe her.

And I'm boycotting Cyprus.

exLtEveDallas · 14/04/2020 22:35

Having lived in Cyprus and seen first hand the sexist, corrupt, misogynistic police at work, too right I believe her.
The strength of this young woman. Astounding.

2BthatUnnoticed · 14/04/2020 22:47

I believe her.

Agree with boycotting Cyprus, once travel is allowed again

2BthatUnnoticed · 14/04/2020 22:48

And That “statement” surely was not written by a native English speaker!

Campervan69 · 14/04/2020 22:52

I believe her. And agree with a boycot of Cyprus. Utterly disgraceful.

Resisterance · 14/04/2020 22:53

I believe her. What a horrific ordeal for that poor young woman DaffodilFlowers

blueshoes · 14/04/2020 23:03

I believe her.

Will be avoiding Cyprus and Israel.

stumbledin · 14/04/2020 23:11

Dont forget that Cyprus came under pressure from Israel to release the men originally charged with rape because they were in the process of building a gas supply for the island.

And as if that econmic pressure to get the Israeli accused back they were greeted on return as heros.

So this innocent young woman was made a double victim not just of the rape, but of political pressure by a country with economic power over a poorer one.

I remember that not only did women in Cyrpus demonstrate on her behalf but women flew over from Israel to join in the protest.

Sad Angry
