Transphobic attitudes contradict the good feminism does everyday

Why is there such a large portion of the feminist movement so against trans culture. Trans people have been some of the biggest advocates for supporting allegedly oppressed groups. Why is it suddenly okay to for feminists (a formally oppressed group) to oppress trans people (currently oppressed group) why?

They look good PerkyPomPoms

PerkyPomPoms · 09/04/2020 11:36

I made some at home and they were rather delicious. Might have another crack before school starts next week.

Winesalot · 09/04/2020 11:37

Arnott's are THE biscuit gods though. I look at the UK supermarket shelves with despair.

LouHotel · 09/04/2020 11:37

Sorry are you telling me that the pink custard I had at school was merely self identifying as custard?

Winesalot · 09/04/2020 11:37

You made lemon crisps!! legend

Winesalot · 09/04/2020 11:40

And actually, I kind miss Melting Moments too. I liked the Arnott's version with the triangles of icing. But I do miss the cafe made ones as well.....

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 09/04/2020 11:41

Yes, Errol, chickpea water. As a chemistry experiment it was amazing! Dyed pink with beetroot juice. They look gorgeous.

Re horse - he didn't realise what it was until part way through. - which part? Grin

PerkyPomPoms · 09/04/2020 11:50

I think this was the recipe.. I added a bit more lemon and a hefty salt sprinkle.

Where can I get sugar free lime jelly? So fed up of strawberry and raspberry.
TIA
My mum used to make rice pudding in the oven of the stove (similar to an aga but not posh). It would bake slowly all day and she would add milk at regular intervals. We would fight to scrape the toffee out of the bottom of the dish.
I am not sure it would be worth keeping a modern oven on all day tbh.

Winesalot · 09/04/2020 12:00

Love it PerkyPomPoms. I used to make lemon shortbread for Christmas, this will be replacing those. Thanks

BazzleJet · 09/04/2020 12:01

But if I argue with you, I must take up a contrary position

BringbackLang · 09/04/2020 12:10

@ErrolTheDragon you can indeed make meringue with Aquafaba (Chickpea juice). Done it several times very successfully. Not as stable as eggs but you couldn't tell the difference tbh.

FlamingoAndJohn · 09/04/2020 12:25

Jacobs lemon puffs. (Which sounds like a homophobic slur).

StarintheMorning · 09/04/2020 12:37

Oh no, I was hoping no one would mention those awful lemon puffs! They were my Dads favourites, but he used to open all the biscuit packets and put them in the biscuit tin. The flavour if those lemon puffs would invade every other biscuit. Lemon Garibaldi anyone? What about a nice lemon chocolate bourbon?

SarahInAccounts · 09/04/2020 12:40

Trans people have been some of the biggest advocates for supporting allegedly oppressed groups.

And also responsible for rape threats against women they view as TERFs. And Lesbians who don't want anything to do with their lady dicks.

They need to sort out their own people before they will get general acceptance.

SarahInAccounts · 09/04/2020 12:42

Hmm. I only read the first page.

I seem to have intruded into a cooking thread.

Confused Confused Confused

DancelikeEmmaGoldman · 09/04/2020 12:44

The pastry in a lemon crisp biscuit isn’t very sweet or rich, it’s flaky like a dense palmier, more of a cracker texture. It has a wash of a kind of sugar syrup which is sprinkled with salt. The lemon filling is quite firm and sweet, flavoured with lemon oil. It’s quite an odd, old-fashioned biscuit, there’s nothing else quite like it.

I cannot yield, even to mint Tim Tams, mainly because I’ve never been a fan of the mint, chocolate pairing.

Creme Brûlée is the empress of custards. I may have bought a kitchen blowtorch for no other purpose than caramelising the sugar on a creme brûlée. Blush

Oh yeah, the death of feminism. Announced by someone standing knee deep in a viper pit of radfems.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 09/04/2020 12:47

Trans people have been some of the biggest advocates for supporting allegedly oppressed groups.

This sentence is only true if it continues as follows:

"Trans people have been some of the biggest advocates for supporting allegedly oppressed groups, by cuckooing in on a genuinely oppressed group, making it all about them and playing a massive, shoulder-chipped victim card to win Gold, Silver and Bronze in the Female sex category at the Oppression Olympics"

isabellerossignol · 09/04/2020 12:50

Feminism is dead thanks to stupidity and hostility in this post

How did I miss this earlier? Imagine being so fragile and egotistical that you consider women discussing pudding to be hostile to you.

RadicalFern · 09/04/2020 12:53

Nigella has an AMAZING recipe for a homemade G&T jelly. It's delicious and also very dangerous because it slips down so nicely...

Datun · 09/04/2020 13:02

How did I miss this earlier? Imagine being so fragile and egotistical that you consider women discussing pudding to be hostile to you.

And imagine being able to kill an entire movement just by chatting for a few hours about milk pudding.

We have a superpower.

DidoLamenting · 09/04/2020 13:02

Now I want lemon meringue pie

It's one of my least favourite puddings. It's an effort from scratch if you make the pastry, squeeze lemons, make the lemon curd and the meringue topping for an end result which is quite dull and oddly less than the sum of its parts.

mummmy2017 · 09/04/2020 13:04

So do you think when there were protests about tourists taking over beaches and towns abroad, they actually realised if everyone stayed away it would be like this?

HotelBravo · 09/04/2020 13:06

If I use a penis shaped mould when making a Blancmange, does that make it cannibalism? Or is it still just a milk pudding in a different shape??
I'm not making any comparisons to anything else here......😉

ErrolTheDragon · 09/04/2020 13:10

I think you may have misunderstood the references upthread to rabbit shaped moulds.
