A few questions for feminists

ConservativeV8 · 19/03/2020 18:58

  1. Why is feminism so small in number? They get plenty of airtime but it isn't catching on. Women know about it so why no support?
  1. Feminists want equality of opportunity and equality of outcome but how can you have both when it's impossible? You want to give women choice, but then want exactly 50% of men and women in each industry. This can only be achieved by forcing women (and men) to do jobs they don't want to or choose to do. Explain?
  1. Why do you think the earnings difference is due to gender when time and time again it has been shown it has nothing or very little to do with it. Why feminists not take into account the 40 or so factors which affect earnings, such as men are more likely to work longer hours, do more overtime, take less holidays, work more dangerous jobs, willing to relocate, willing to commute further, etc etc?

Please discuss.

I'm also loving this. A hilarious distraction from CV and the impending doom around us. I have a feeling that OP is in a high risk category and might be passing the time...

Anyway, I have questions, so many question for these 'girls' at 'work':

  1. Are any of them old enough to vote? Please ask them if they know anything about how that was made possible.
  2. Have any of them ever needed an abortion? Intrusive I know but access to abortions and having reproductive rights in general were hard-won and continue to require protection, largely fought for by the feminists they so vehemently 'disagree' with. If they needed one can you ask them how access to abortion was made possible?
  3. Have any of them ever been raped? Another big intrusive Q but do they know anything about prosecution rates and how the CPS are being challenged on this? Do they want the feminists to shut up about that one too?
  4. Are any of them mothers and required maternity leave? Please ask them if they know anything about how maternity leave became a standard requirement by employees in UK law and what rights they have as a pregnant employee or a mother returning to work. You could also furnish yourself of the maternity leave policy at your place of work.
  5. Do any of them, of have any of them studied at University in the UK? Do they know how that was made possible? Do you?

If you think feminists, of which there are many types, want equality as in equal representation of men and women in employment in any or all of the industries available on the UK then you are wrong. Do you really think we want 50/50 across the whole of the NHS, in ever company, in every restaurant.

No. Most want equal opportunity. It really is an entirely different thing.

Do let me know your thoughts OP when you return with a new username, which will no doubt be related to the engine size of the car you would like to drive, but sadly can not afford.

DickKerrLadies · 20/03/2020 20:25

Equal doesn't mean identical.

HTH.

DickKerrLadies · 20/03/2020 20:25

Sorry - discuss.

Oh, wait...

Al1Langdownthecleghole · 20/03/2020 20:30

Hang on. Who wears a tie to work still that requires knotting by their imaginary secretary?

LadyQuarantinaPluckington · 20/03/2020 20:31

would you rather have an extra nose on your forehead, or have knees where your elbows should be?

The extra nose I can picture, but how does knees where elbows are even work? Aren't elbows just arm-knees anyway?

goldpartyhat · 20/03/2020 20:38

I like a good banning 😂😂

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 20/03/2020 21:10

They have the same basic construction, yes, but I was thinking that the knees would still be knee-sized, but on your arms, and they would still have patellae. I suppose it wouldn't be too bad - you could wear long sleeves all the time. I don't know, I'm tired. It took me ages to get to sleep last night because I was thinking about how great it would be to live in a zoo with the red pandas.

HouseMouseQueen1969 · 20/03/2020 21:36

So this is how men are going to pass the time during an epidemic?

Trolling feminists with stupid, already answered a million times questions?

DtPeabodysLoosePants · 20/03/2020 21:38

Wait! What? Chocolate lime margarita cake you say? I've been spending too much time on the covid-19 threads and have missed FWR. Anyone remember the Haagen Dazs margarita lime sorbet of the late 90s? Amazing stuff.

ConservativeLK · 20/03/2020 21:47

Yes these girls are old enough to vote because we only take in graduates in our company, even for admin I believe.

Why are feminists going on tv complaining its not 50 50 men and women in each industry?

Ok if you are fine with there being different numbers in each industry, then you have to acknowledge different industries pay differently (supply and demand) and there will always be a difference in earnings.

So now explain why these feminists on tv complain about this. Because the pay review has been done, their arguments are being dismantled completely one by one.

PertEllaTitsahoy · 20/03/2020 21:52

Has a young studmuffin like you really got nothing better to do on a friday night?

QuentinWinters · 20/03/2020 21:53

Oh hello. Can you link the feminists on TV complaining? Seems odd that would be broadcast in the middle of a pandemic.
dtpeabody sounds lush doesn't it? I was quite partial to bailey's haagen dazs

ErrolTheDragon · 20/03/2020 21:55

these feminists on tv

You make it sound like there's loads of them. When IIRC your beef is with one specific interview.

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 20/03/2020 21:55

Doesn't he have enough recipes for his book by now? What section could it possibly be missing? Have we done biscuits yet? I have a lovely recipe for Highlanders (the shortbread, not Christopher Lambert) in my Be-ro book.

PertEllaTitsahoy · 20/03/2020 21:56

I had a brief addiction to cookies and cream haagen dazs

DickKerrLadies · 20/03/2020 22:01

there will always be a difference in earnings.

Thank god a man has come along to tell us that different jobs earn different amounts of money.

That he still thinks the problem lies with us 'girls' says it all really.

OhHolyJesus · 20/03/2020 22:01

Ah. Old enough to vote you say...but why is it that they can vote, how was that made possible?

Is also like to see links you what you refer to OP. I've seen a fair bit about surrogacy laws recently, a mixture of biased and unbiased coverage of the gender ideology or 'self ID' debate. A bit about the Samira Ahmed verdict. Maybe that's what you're on about?

So if it's a supply and demand issue, let's say you have two TV presenters, one male, one female. For argument's sake let's say they each have 15 years experience in their chosen field. Should the man be paid more than the woman?

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 20/03/2020 22:05

These two pictures illustrate the disparity between how MM perceives himself at work, and how his colleagues most likely see him.

I am interested Conservative in what you think the truth is about men and women. You seem to be driving towards a point. What is the point?

isabellerossignol · 20/03/2020 22:43

I'm interested in why he's calling adults girls. Even if they are imaginary girls.

MrsDoylesTeaBags · 20/03/2020 22:45

My knees are massive Eoin that would just look ridiculous.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 20/03/2020 22:52

I am disappointed with the calibre of this twit.

He is not very good at anything.

Can he ask his parent or guardian to check his posts next time?

TorkTorkBam · 20/03/2020 22:58

Oh oh, I know why he calls the grown women girls.

It is to annoy us on purpose.

Let's all go to datalounge and troll them. Not quite sure how. Any ideas?

TorkTorkBam · 20/03/2020 23:00

I am an expert on annoying on purpose following a few hours of three children and a husband self-isolating.

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 20/03/2020 23:00

TorkTork I'm guessing his point is that women are all just a bit shit, and men are naturally superior, and everyone who isn't a silly old feminist agrees with him, especially his imaginary coterie of admin "girls", and his mum says he's very handsome actually, and he isn't allowed to sit on the new beige couch any more since he got Cheeto dust all over it the other week. Something like that, anyway.
